ok, i tried the colgate 'junior' toothpaste. a little teeny bit on the end of the junior brush but he just wouldn't let me brush his tooth. i tried using the finger brush i bought as well, but no joy there either. i can't get him to open his mouth at all now except for food. :banghead:
anybody with any advice would be welcome.
Hi there
I bought DS a junior toothbrush, but I'm not sure that they're allowed to have toothpaste just yet. Not sure though  We just give DS the toothbrush in the bath to chew on, he won't let us brush his teeth yet either. He's 10 days older than your bub. We figure that by him chewing on the brush for the little time in the bath, he's getting some of the gunk off his teeth. We keep trying to brush them for him and he's getting a little better at it. When he gets a little older, we'll try letting him brush our teeth so then he might let us brush his.
Hope this helps

I brush his teeth ( he has 2 bottom ones and a front tooth slowly coming out!)using a real soft finger brush in the bath. he bites it most of the time but I guess it's all part of learning. When he sticks his tongue out I brush it too  Also when DH brushes his teeth we sometimes show this to DS so he learns that it must be done :D

try doing it in front of a mirror so they can watch. either you or your other half brush yours at then with just water have a go at their teeth and say look you are a big boy/girl now you can brush your teeth just like mummy and daddy.
don't use paste as they don't really need it until they get older and it isn't great if they swallow too much of it anyway.
just make it a really fun thing to do and if they don't want to just go slow a little at a time and it won't freak them out. but show them everytime you do it and just let them have a play around with the toothbrush for a bit while you do yours. let them help you by brushing your teeth as you do theirs.
good luck
