Pale poo

DD is transitioning from breast milk to cow's milk (She turns one in a few days) and I'm pretty sure that's the underlying cause of her pale poos of late.

Has anyone else experienced this?

Yup dd had that too! shes been on cows milk a couple of wks now and im pretty sure thats the cause, i also asked mum and she seemed to think so too

As long as thhe poo isnt White I wouldnt be to woried

My DDs GI says that with the exception of Red, white or black poo, its all normal varience of colour, Its more mucous that you would need to wory about and that only if its lots of it

My DD is just about 20mths old, and a few mths ago she had her first bottle of full cows milk, sure enough the next day her poo's were a odd colour, a very very pale brown, and was really thick and runny

I spoke to our paed and nutritionist, and they both said it was the cows milk, and it was most probably a shock to her system, thats why you should slowly add cows milk into their diet

it might be the same reason for your DD's poos

if you are concerned though, or it keeps happening, take her to your GP and get her checked out, there could well be another underlying problem there

It also makes a change to their poo because its completely different to BM & cant be digested as easily.

Cows milk is a huge hit to their system so introduce it slowly one bottle per day for a week & then if all is ok then add another etc. Do it slowly & things will be much easier on her tummy !
