Hi all
I just want to know wether anyone can help..Till now we have had a baby that slept 6.30pm - 6.30am - which I know is extremely lucky but now for the last couple of weeks she has started waking at 3.30am or 4.30am. Imogen(5months and 1week) is on solids twice a day mainly to hopefully help with her reflux
( reccomended by her reflux doctor). She is also feeds 5 times a day - 3 feeds breastfeed and 2 bottle (again to help with her reflux). We have left her to cry but sometimes it's ends up two hours down the track and she is still crying. I feel guilty even posting this as I know lots of other mums are getting up to there babies 2 -4 night still at 5 months. I just think it's kinda weird to start doing this now - an wondered if anyone else had any other suggestions.
Any ideas welcome
Thanks Mum of Two

I have had exactly the same problem with my son who is 6 months. It started at around 5 months which is apparently often a growth spurting time. It seems he is now in the habit of waking 1 to 2 times a night.

The child health nurse made me feel quite bad for feeding him back to sleep (which is what I always do) and strongly recommended controlled crying. After reading about it and posting on bub hub I decided I wouldn't do this as I don't really agree with it or think it is the best solution for an already stressed and sleep deprived mum! I tracked down a book called "The No-Cry Sleep Solution" by Elizabeth Pantley which was recommended on the forum. I haven't had a chance to read all of it yet but it seems wonderful so far. Maybe it is worth a try for you too??

Hope this helps....sometimes it is just nice to realise you aren't the only one who experiences these ups and downs. And there is no need to feel guilty. All bubs are different :)

Hi,

I think I'm in the same situation. My little one sleeps throught the night but in the last week or two has woken early a few times. I've put it down to another growth spurt and I simply feed her and put her down again when she's ready.

I do a little controlled crying but that's mainly in the afternoon when she needs to nap but objects greatly. It's not much fun control crying when your tired and wouldn't mind crying as well.

My dd is a happy contented baby so I must be doing something right.

Don't worry I think our little ones like to keep us guessing! :)
