I think this is a fairly new pram on the market so I understand if no one can comment but I was wondering if anyone has an experience or thoughts on this pram?

It superceeds the S/C Flexirite Deluxe and the two major improvements are:

only 10kgs

much narrower than Flexirite

But best of all it looks great, handles well and a toddler seat can be added.

So has anyone got one, thought about getting one or regretted getting one?

Thanks!

i have heard of them and did a fair amount of research on them...
they look like they will be a fantastic pram and a friend of mine just bought one and so far so good... have you had a chance to test drive on in the baby stores yet?

I just got back from Buby on a Budget (dragged DH with me...which wasn't hard to be honest :) )

Ohh I love the transition. It's $379 and handles so well. The difference in weight between this new model vs the Flexirite is huge (4kg to be exact) and it is aproximately 60mm narrower.

It comes with all the goodies, boot cover, sun shade and rain shade. The only down side is that it doesn't seem to recline completely flat even though the catalogue claims it does. This concerns me but I am keen to purchase the bassinett and use this for the first 3 months both on the pram and as a bassinett at home.

Geez...who thought I'd get so excited over our first pram :smiliedance:

I think this is the one that I just purchased on layby the other day. I got the basinette as well. It handled really nicely and wasn't too wide. I was pretty impressed with it :)

hi there,

I too was interested in this pram, however about 2 wks ago I was in a baby store where I asked to view all the prams with a toddler seat option, when the assistant advised me of a design fault with the Steelcraft Transition.

Just to let you know, the fault is only when you attach the toddler seat on the pram - it is impossible to fully close the sun canopy when a toddler is in the toddler seat, as the canopy would hit the toddler's head...

It appears that the toddler seat has been placed too far into the pram..
(ie - when you compare this with the Valco prams you will understand as the toddler seat is much more fwd facing, therefore leaving more room for the canopy to fully close, and also more room b/w the toddler and the baby.)

This is not really a major issue, as the pram is obviously still quite functional as you don't really need to have the canopy closed all the way, and as a single pram, I think it's quite functional, and at a great price...

Just wanted to let you know..

I still have no idea which pram I actually put on laybuy
I didn't buy a toddler seat though.

I just checked the Baby on a Budget site, I actually bought the 4 wheeler SC Transaction, so no toddler seat issues :D

I have just got back from looking at these prams tonight and they look great, so nice to push. I am after a light pram for a change......
I would need the toddler seat though, so will take both kids along for a test drive on the weekend and check out the sun canopy issue.
Has anyone else got one of these yet??

TBB- I still haven't brought the Transition following my original post. I am planning on dong so next weekend but won't worry about the toddler seat (1st pregnancy).

Can you let me know how it feels pushing the Transition with a bub inside? Does it still push effortlessly?

Thanks - what colour do you think you will go for? I can't decide but I guess the black is more practical??

my sister has this pram for her dd and she needs all her boot for the pram and bassinette and its a station wagon.its quite bulky but yes its a dream to push she has only had the bvassinette in it so far as dd is only 11 month old.
not sure if id bye it though you can get the same "drive" with less bulkier prams.

Slightly off topic, I have the SC transaction with the bassinett and it is absolutely wonderful. It comes with all the goodies and has a really comfy seat with head inserts (to stop bubbas head rolling around). I got the milo colour as the milk colour would last 2 seconds with my bunch of ferrals!!!!!!

I am not familiar with the transition, but can definitely recommend the transaction!

Hi,
My partner wants to know if anyone has had any issues with or opinions on the way in which the wheels are attached with the Steelcraft Transition?

We ask because it seems that there is a huge plastic spacer making the axles quite long and possibly prone to bending.

We're also considering the Valco Runabout Tri-Mode (regular or deluxe!) but as quite a bit more expensive the Transition is winning apart from the wheels concern.

Any thoughts welcome!!

Thanks

We purchased the steelcraft transition for our first child who is now 6 months old.

The pros of this pram far outweigh the cons. The bassinette attachment is fabulous, it is lightweitght and it comes with all the sun and we weather attachments. It drives fabulously and I have only ever had one minor hiccup.

I strongly recommend you make sure you have room in your car for it before you buy it.

While using the pram withthe bassinette attachment I had to take the bassinette and wheels off before being able to get it into the boot (Holden astra). Now with the normal attachments I still have to remove the wheels.

This can be time consuming but even with this issue I wouldn't change my choice. As I said the pros far outweigh the cons.
