hmmmmm DS always seems to jitter his jaw... is this normal??? he has done it since birth & does it quite often.... MCHN didnt seem to be concerned when i told her, but i dont think ive ever seen another baby do it...
also he hiccups all the damn time, poor little dude... is this something to do with being bottle fed maybe?? i do burp him alot tho...
My boys did this until they were about 4 months old or so, apparently it has something to do with their neurological development esp with premmies, he will grow out of it:yes:

DS does the jaw thing, like he's really cold and chattering his teeth (although he's toothless of course!). He does it mainly when tired or upset though.
He also hiccups EVERY day, often! And he's breastfed, so I don't think that's a bottle/breast issue, just something they will grow out of as their digestive systems mature.
Yeah, my DD did this too. I thought she was cold, but the CHN told me is was all to do with muscle function and neuro function building up and getting stronger. Just all part of development.

My DD who is almost 11 weeks old also hiccups on a regular basis, normally twice a day and goes on for sometimes 20mins or so. She gets upset with them after awhile. My MCHN said to give her a dummy, or pop her back on the boob, as the sucking reflex helps them go away.
She used to also get hiccups inside me before she was born on a daily basis too :D
Hiccups are apparently an irritation of the diaphragm, and I have heard that babies get them because of their immature organs and will grow out of them. And also because the swallow air during feeding which causes distention of the stomach which then irritates the diaphragm.
