Hi, my name is Catherine, I am 23 years old and a first year midwifery student from ACU (Australian Catholic University) Melbourne.
As part of my course I am looking to recruit 20 pregnant mothers over the next three years to take part in the ACU Bachelor of Midwifery Community Follow Through Journey.
The Follow Through Journey allows students to become competent in communicating and providing support for women during their pregnancy, birth and early stages of parenting under the guidance of a mentor and with support from the university.
Participants need to be less than 35 weeks pregnant and be willing to share their experiences of pregnancy. This could include a range of experiences such as antenatal classes, GP, Obstetrician or midwife appointments, genereal discussion about what it's like to be pregnant and if comfortable; the birth of your baby.
Participants are able to withdraw from the program at any stage and confidentiality and privacy are respected and adhered to at all times.
As a student, I understand what a special time pregnancy, birth and parenthood is and would be honoured to share in your experiences and gain the knowledge to become an exceptionally competent midwife.
For further information regarding the program, please don't hesitate to email me at:
cvharr001@student.acu.edu.au (cvharr001@student.acu.edu.au) or contact the course coordinator Dr. Colleen Rolls on:
9953 3191 or colleen.rolls@acu.edu.au (colleen.rolls@acu.edu.au).
I look forward to hearing from you.
Kindest Regards,
Catherine Harrington
