It has been brought to our attention, that a number of forum members have received a spam/scam email, where the scammer claims to have got their email from their Bub Hub profile.
The emails have come from jenifer.koneh@yahoo.com . There's no-one with that email address registered and so it's difficult for me to track down who that person is and ban their access to the forum.
We urge everyone to turn off the setting that allows other members to email you - use the PM system instead. The default setting for new members is to have 'email from other members' set to 'no', but it's worth checking your setting. Only logged in registered members can get an email address from your profile if this setting is set to YES. If it's set to No, nobody (but me) can get your email address from our system. Go to User Control Panel > Edit Options to check the setting for 'Receive Email from Other Members'. We also urge you not to put your email address open forum where ANYONE can view it.
If anybody has any other email addresses that this person has used to send scam emails, or any other info that can help us track down who it is and ban their IP address, please add them in this thread. I'm happy for the scammer's email address to be in open forum...so that that email can be scammed in return!!!
