1st Birthday Party Ideas

My son is 1 in a little over a month.
Does anyone have any ideas on food, decorations etc.

For my daughter we're having a 'cupcake' party.

So cupcakes for the cake, and then finger food ie. mini sandwiches, cheerios etc.. It really depends on how many people and if it's mostly kids or adults.

For decorations we're doing some streamers and balloons with a birthday banner.


When my other daughter was 1 we had a 'pink' party, so we had pink food, pink decorations and asked everyone to wear something pink. You could easily do something similar with green or blue maybe?

At this age the party is more for us than them, so I'm really just going with a simple theme this year, that's what I did with my other daughter also.

We had my son first birthday party two weekends ago. We went to a local park that has mini trains that you can ride. We cooked a BBQ there and had a Thomas cake. He had a wonderful time. A very simple non expensive (under $50) fun party.
