This makes me SO ANGRY!!!!

So glad we're in Oz... But all those poor little skidlets in the UK...

And I can't even think about kids from HOM's! What a nightmare!

First year twins denied entry to same school (http://www.telegraph.co.uk/education/educationnews/5164475/Twins-separated-by-cruel-school-admissions-ruling.html)

poor little ones.

if the schools are getting so many applications then maybe they should look at increasing the number of teachers they have so they can take more students.

how annoying would it be for the parents to drop one child at one school then drive the other to a different school. seems kinda dumb if you ask me.

I think it's terrible. Especcially for twins. How awful that a school would separate them with no concern for their emotional wellbeing!

Why not knock back a singleton child, rather than separate twins.

Officials insisted the twins were separated because the parents lived outside the catchment area when they applied. They have been offered an alternative school for both boys together

Doesnt sound cruel and unfair to me ... They have been offered a placement together. I would have thought it would make more sense that if they only had one place remaining, to knock back both of them..

I guess I can see it from a different point of view too.... they mention that the application information had them out of zone when they applied for the school.... therefore if there is only one spot left, and all other applicants fall within the catchment area, it is only fair that they are only offered one place....

They haven't been ordered to attend different schools, they simply haven't been granted two places as out of zone applicants at a school because there wasn't the available places..... they have been offered alternatives, placements together, and it is the parents perogative as to which one they decide upon....

No scandal there IMO....
