View Full Version : Kaleeya - WA
Has anyone had their baby at Kaleeya? I know it only started as a maternity hospital in April, but I was hoping someone here had actually had their baby there. I'm probably going to go there anyway, but it would be lovely to hear peoples experiences... :D

Hey bma_one...
I havent had a bub there, But good thread as I am interested in hearing ppls comments...I went to Woodside to have DS and I am sad it has closed down, it was a lovley Hosptial...I was born there too...
So Kaleeya is the "new" Woodside really...
My SIL is having her baby there and when I spoke to her she said that most of the same Midwives were at Kaleeya...
Thats a good thing  as I found the midwives great...
Will sit back now and wait to hear from people....
Good Luck with your bubs!!!
Hi mum2james... Well no luck with anyone who has been there so far. I was born at Woodside too, I think alot of people around the Fremantle area were, I always thought I'd have my kiddies there too. Oh well, times change I guess!
I had to go to Kaleeya for the first time today to fill out forms and exciting things like that. It looks like a lovely hospital, but I can't say much for the people on reception at the antenatal clinic... I'm a secretary too so I can sympathise with the underpaid and overworked aspects of our job, but I really felt like I was ruining their day... :gloomy:
On the other hand, I talked to a lovely midwife there on Friday and I guess they're the ones you want to be really good at their jobs

Does anyone know if Kaleeya has a team midwifery service? I like the idea of having the same few people look after you throughout pregnancy/birth. Also do all of the birthing suites have baths to use in labour?
I had my little girl there, I was very impressed. I had to have an emergency caeser and the clinc dr was excellent to. Admitidly I recovered well and went home on day 3! I don't remember if they have a team midwifery service, but I did have the same few midwives the entire time I was there. There is only 1 bath to use, and 4 suites, so bad news there. But I can't say anything negative about it
