Hi

I had my first baby 8 weeks ago and my body is driving me nuts! About 4 weeks after giving birth my stomach had gone down and I felt really good. I was able to start wearing my pre-maternity clothes, albeit the loose ones. I felt great and a lot of people commented on how well I looked. I wasn't trying to shed weight, just letting my body adjust itself (I'm a big believer in the "It took 9 months to get it on and 9 months to get it off theory).

So anyhoo, about a week ago I started feeling very pudgy again (I am generally a size 18 so have always had curves and a stomach but in proportion for the most part). My stomach feels really bloated, my boobs feel like they've exploded again (I was expressing milk however stopped nearly 2 weeks ago as it had pretty much run out, and I just feel very frumpy. Nothing fits me now, I feel as though I am six months pregnant again and hate the fact that I can't even suck my stomach in.

The only change to my diet is that it has gotten healthier, I am moving about more than I have for quite a while.

I know that the hormones have to settle down again and all that but I'm just wandering if this is normal. My AF hasn't returned, I am not on any contraception. I have had pains on and off in my stomach but am yet to go back to my doctor (yes, I know... I am going this week) so no idea what that's about, it doesn't feel like period pain.

Sorry for the ramble but it is getting me down and I had such a miserable pregnancy that I was really enjoying feeling good about myself again :o.

Hmm, if you have stopped feeding it could be a hormonal thing as feeding can (only can) help with weightloss and stuff.

Don't beat yourself up too much, it's only 2 months and can take a while for bodies to adjust.

Good to hear you are eating healthy - not nibbling? drinking excessive milk etc that could be causing bloating?

Your digestion could be taking a while to adjust - sluggish digestion is often a cause of bloating etc.

Hope the Dr can offer some help. And if you can get out and walk etc, that will help with the toning and mental state about yourself.

Did you have an abdominal seperation? I know my belly was lovely for the 2 weeks post Roar, then sort of pushed right out again. Turns out I had an 11cm high ab seperation, It caused some cramping too.
