Hi there!

I am wondering if anyone can tell me if it is supposed to be safe to fly domestically when 29/30 weeks pregnant. I know that international flights are out at this time, but was unsure about domestic.
I would love to receive your advice!:smiliedance:

As long as you are not a high risk pregnancy you can fly up to 36 weeks (I think) domestically. I know 29/30 weeks is fine...I flew internationally at 20 weeks, 24 weeks and then flew domestically at 34 weeks.

Yep domestically is 36 weeks, but it may be worth your while to get a letter from your OB or DR. I flew at 32 weeks and my OB gave me a letter incase I was questioned at check in.

Good luck and safe travels!

My friend flew from here to the UK when 35 weeks pregnant - she just had a letter from her hospital to say it was ok....she was a little uncomfy mind you!

Hi,
I flew when I was 38 weeks, however it was just a 50 minute flight. I used to work for an airline (unfortunately it is no longer around) and they did not technically have a cut off date to travel, I can't tell you definitely what Qantas, Jetstar or Virgin Blues policy is maybe you should ring them.

I know when we used to get asked this question we would advise the parents to be that it depended how comfortable they felt about flying, and also the length of the flight. Ultimately at that point in time it was up to them.

(I know one of my friends is a flight attendant and when she was being trained she was taught how to deliver a baby.)

Any way good luck with it and happy travels
