Strawberry...glad you're on the ball. Hope you got through all your washing. How are the kids?
3Divas...hope you enjoyed the party, with or without the second pressie:p.
Tabby...bummer about the IL's not organising your anniversary pressie.
Cordelia...hope D starts to sleep through for you soon. Holding out feeding is probably the best thing you can do for yourself. I wish I had as TJ's still waking for a drink at night.

Rudd $$$$..nope, haven't received mine yet.

Went to my step-grandfathers funeral on Friday. left home at 8am and got home at 8pm. For a funeral it wasn't a bad day.

Am, buggered at the moment. Can't seem to catch up on sleep, no matter how much I have.

Have a great day,
Lisa

2s'nuff - I hear ya about the sleep!!

Us - Sierra fell asleep at 6:30pm last night & didnt wake up til 7:30 this morning which was a great sleep but she woke up with a bad cold & watery eyes & was/is very grumpy. DD1 had another optometrist appointment today & they said she has Astigmatism which is when the eye is oval shaped instead of round. We ordered her some glasses which we can pick up next monday so that will be good. At least we are getting somewhere with that. Still very busy with all this wedding stuff for SIL. She is quite stressed & am trying to help out as much as possible but i spose its natural to be stressed before your wedding. I finally booked the haridresser today for DD1 & I. Having my nails done on thursday. Its just an excuse to pamper myself  Should be a good day though & its going to be fine with no rain so thats a bonus :yelclap:

Strawberry- your on the ball with the new thread- I had not noticed it was May already- this year is flying!

2snuff- sorry to hear about your SGF- very long day 8 til 8 though.

tiredmummy- wedding is this w/e? Hope your kiddies- well Sierra is better by then.

Had a good night out on Saturday night- ended up nicking down the post office and getting a lotteries gift pack for the twin sister- I felt slack but just did not think about her- a friend who turned up at my place to go to the party did the same- she did not realise it was a combined party.
All was good- got a bit sloshed- danced hard- and :barf: well when I got home- lol!! Glad I dont do it often:laughing:

2s’nuff - Oh Lisa I hear you on the sleep. I hope you can catch up on sleep. Sorry to hear about your step grandfather. Finally got through all the washing. All kiddies are on the mend. T1 and T2 have dr appointment in the morning. Hoping T1 is well enough to get his flu shot.

Tiredmummy – I’ve got astigmatism. I only found that out when I went to the laser eye surgery. Unfortunately they can’t do anything about it. So I have to wear glasses full time.

3Divas – Sound like you had a great night out. Hope B is still going well with the TT.

 to everyone else.

Us – I'm going to "try" and have an early night for once. Have had a very busy weekend. Had a BBQ Saturday and Sunday night. Busy in the garden this afternoon while the kiddies were out playing and jumping on the trampoline. T1 is full on talking now, which is fantastic.

Strawberry - I was reading about Astigmatism on the net & apparently it can be corrected by surgery. DH has keratoconus & thats when the cornea is coned shaped. So now she has an even higher risk of getting that when she's older.

Tired...Hope S is feeling better today. Enjoy the pampering and the wedding
3Divas...LOL.:barf:and hangovers, two of the reasons I rarely drink. Hangovers and young kids just don't mix.
Strawberry...hope T1 is ok. TJ's having her flu shot today

Us...have limited TJ's daytime sleep at daycare to 1/2 an hour. :fingerscrossed: this helps with settling at night. Last ngiht went well. She was asleep without too much fuss and slept 'til 5.20:eek:.
Am meeting DH at the docs this morning for her flu shot.

Have a great day,
Lisa

Hey!!! My ears pricked up "astigmatism" and "kerataconus" because I have both and am looking at doing laser surgery.. does that mean I cant have it??

tired*mummy
05-05-2009, 08:47 PM
Cordelia - Keratoconus cant be fixed from laser eye surgery. It can only be fixed from a cornea graft. Thats what Dh has but his is so bad that not even contact lenses or glasses help him. Thats why he had the graft done. But its still not fixed. His vision wont improve until he gets the stitches out in February.

Cordelia
05-05-2009, 10:36 PM
ahhhh yikes.. your poor DH... fortunately mine stopped getting worse a few years ago so wont need the cornea graft. fingers crossed it stays that way.

06-05-2009, 05:50 AM
Ouch Tiredmummy- are you saying the stictches are in til Feb next yr, as in 2010??? OMG why is that?

tired*mummy
06-05-2009, 07:35 AM
Yep as in 2010. They basically have to stay in for 12 months after the surgery. Not sure why but its not that bad now & you cant even see the stitched like you could a few weeks ago. The cornea has healed over them but i just dont even want to think about how they are going to get them out.... Ouch!!

It's very quiet on here at the moment. Hope everyone is well.

Since limiting TJ's daytime sleeps to half an hour this week, settling at night has been a while lot easier:smiliedance:. Might mean I can consistently do some exercise in the evening rather than chasing her back to bed every 5 minutes.
Have had a little more success getting her back on the toilet. We now read a book (a little one) which is keeping her on there long enough for a wee to come.

Have a Mothers Day morning tea at DD1's school this morning. :fingerscrossed: the teacher has learnt how to bake better biscuits than last year, LOL.

Have a great day,
Lisa

:wave:everyone,

3Divas – What kind of things to you do with your personal trainer? I had a personal trainer when I was living in Darwin. He was great

2s’nuff – How did TJ go with the flu shot? T1 didn’t like it one little bit.

Cordelia – Wasn’t to sure which one can't be fixed through laser eye surgery. Thanks Tiredmummy for giving us the info.

US -T1 is over his cold and T2 is slowly getting there. Brought T1 a new pair of slippers the other day. He loves them. He even wears them out to the shops  They are ugg type slippers. We have a show holiday here today. So everyone is home including DH. Going to try and get a photo of all the kids together. Mum wants one of all the kids, so that will be her mother’s day pressie along with a digital photo frame.

Cheers
Kel

It didn't happen. DH had TJ for the morning and met me at the doc's at 9.45. Went in only to find they'd booked me in for the 19th. Someone must have had the wrong week open in the diary when I booked:hair:. So have to organise again when DH is home next.

2snuff - that is ridiculous. how inconvenient for you. caitlin had her flu shot on monday and it was the last of their supply so check that you don't rock up again and they have none in.

strawberry - your day sounds looovely. enjoy it.

caitlin is telling me when she wants to wee now!! and we've had a wee in the toilet. it's more a case of her wanting to copy her friends who are gradually getting toilet trained. still not pushing it. will let her tell me what she wants to do.

can't wait for mothers day. i'm booking a sleep in. so tired. in fact, i think my bed is calling!! i have a good 15 minutes of 2 kids asleep. (hopefully longer.)

PS we started music lessons today with caitlin - forte music. she LOVED it. i was a bit worried because they haev to sit in a circle and follow instructions and caitlin's usual protocol is to be a toddler and run riot. but she was so taken up with what was going on that she was so good. hopefully she lasts the term like that and i haven't wasted the fees.

3Divas&me

Cordelia- we do music lessons too- Bridget loves them and I am surprised at how well she behaves there too- the teacher is very clever IMo to get all those little kids attentions!! Keep up with TT- may not be long now!!!

2snuff- I would have been so cranky re: flu shot- surely they could have fit you in?? Well done with the tt success

Strawberry- the pt I have only seen twice but so far have been doing boxing and skipping and jogging and lunges, and lots of other muscle building resistence type exercises- just love it- next session- mothers day at 8:30 am- lol at T1 and his slippers:laughing:

DH sent dd1 off to school today without money for the mothers day stall- should I have reminded him??? He was more concerned with picking up his K Rudd cheque- yes they finally came- but have to pick up from the accountant.

Miss Bridget is obsessed with dresses atm- goes mental if we dont put one on her every day- Dd1 was the same at her age- loves the dresses:laughing:

2snuff- I would have been so cranky re: flu shot- surely they could have fit you in?? Well done with the tt success
Yeah, they offered to fit us in. She said the wait was about 45 minutes, which really translates to over an hour. I couldn't picture DH sitting around the doc's waiting room for an hour :rolleyes:and I had ducked out from work.

Cordelia...:yelclap: for C prompting for a wee.

Us...an ok night last night. TJ was a bit unsettled to go to sleep, but slept well once she did.

The Mothers Day morning tea went well. DD1 was so excited. The kids made us rocky road, which saved me from any god-awful biscuits. Have sent her off with some money for the school stall today, will be interesting to see what she picks.

Have a great Mothers Day,
Lisa

Ah yes, mother's day stalls. I hate to think of all the gifts my mum had to pretend to love although to be honest she still has a few around the house that she won't let me get rid of!

3divas - Cameron is quite partial to dresses too. Although his 'dresses' are usually my tops that he pulls out of the washing basket. I'm impressed at your motivation for getting fit. And you too Strawberry!

2snuff - yay for TJ's better sleeps.

Cordelia - Cameron loves his music (&song & dance) classes too. The kids are pretty well behaved but a bit of running around and toddlering is only to be expected and no one minds a bit. It's part of the fun. Hope you got your nap!!

Us - no progress with TT. Going to Melbourne again in a week and not even going to attempt undies with all the extra layers he'll be wearing so maybe a fresh start when we get back. Spent a small fortune at Target today on a winter wardrobe for Cam to wear down south. Have all had colds the last week but I got off pretty lightly compared to DH who of course had a much more serious man cold  . 16 weeks pg now and starting to feel some movements which is nice. No flu shots for us, I don't have a reason, just don't feel in anyway inclined to get them done.

Happy Mother's Day to everyone for Sunday :flowerz:

Cat: wow almost half way already!

off to the park tomorrow for Mothers day with my family...yes the ils cant make it as its not what they want but too bad..my turn for once to have what i want.

Have to work longer than wanted too due to the rise in everything!!!!! I just dont think we can afford to not have me work for now
At least until the new financial year come July when based on 0 income for me we will get most of the endowment. So only a few more weeks that thought..I hope :fingerscrossed:
No news on the ttc front, waiting on AF or a BFP now. then if af arrives its onto the higher dose of clomid so hopefully that works..
just hope af doesnt show mid week if shes going to as we have our first anniversary weekend away!!!

wont have time to pop on tomorrow so
HAPPY MOTHERS day everyone!!! Hope yous have a lovely day :yelclap:

Hi All!

We're back from holidays in Queensland! I got gastro on Wednesday 10 days ago and it lasted a week - through my travel to & from my conference and then to Queensland. Not a great mix! I was so glad I was feeling better to enjoy the 2nd half of our time in Queensland. We had fun with lots of sunshine and playing at the beach/pool/etc. We even squeezed in a trip to SeaWorld, although I was tired and Josh had a 30 second attention span (worse than his usual), so it wasn't as much fun as it could have been ... perhaps there's a reason kids under 3 are free!??! :)

The flight back today was horrendous. Josh woke this morning at 5:40am!!! So, by the time we got on the plane at midday he was grumpy and overtired in the extreme. And yet he wouldn't sleep no matter what we tried. 2 1/2 hours later 2 minutes before the plane touched down he started to fall asleep (he'd done the same on the flight up), but I kept him awake. He eventually slept half an hour into the drive home, but stayed asleep when we got home and & I had to wake him for dinner. He went to bed easily tonight, so hopefully he'll sleep in tomorrow.

Sorry for the long rant. I'm still on holidays this week but at home and then I'm off to another conference next Sunday for 3 days.

Tabby ... hope AF stays away and you get your BFP soon.

tiredmummy ... hope the wedding went well.

cat ... 16 weeks! that's great! What are you doing in Melbourne this week? Where are you staying?

eyes - I am very short sighted and I have an astigmatism (it just means the cornea isn't spherical, it's a weird shape). Both can be corrected by laser. I went to the laser assessment appointment, but decided not to go ahead because of the risk of short term trouble reading - may be days, maybe weeks or months and the issue of glare. I may consider it again after next bub when hopefully I'm not working full time and I could plan a couple of weeks off work and away from the computer screens at work.

Should go to sleep ... happy mother's day everyone!

3divas: lol @ you and Cat still telling people so far along. That would be funny though for when they ask "oh wonderful and when will it be due? and the reply is so close! lol

I was so hoping for a surprise bfp this morning :(

Mim - glad you are feeling better now. Cameron is exactly the same on our 3hr flights down to Melbourne. The only direct flight doesn't leave here until 7.40pm (if it's on time - never is)but even though it's past his bedtime he won't fall asleep until the last half hour. I try to get off the plane without waking him but the furthest I've made it is half way to baggage collection. We arrive in Melb Sunday night 10.45pm then drive out to Rowville where I'll be staying with my parents until Fri 29th. Would be nice to catch up with the Melbourne ladies if work and other commitments permit - just tricky 'cos my weekend is booked out so limited to weekdays.

tiredmummy - hope the wedding went well and you got to enjoy yourself after all the hard work

3divas - glad I'm not the only slack one with pregnancy announcements! I think because I told all the people who really matter quite early I had no burning desire to share with all and sundry.

Tabby - all the best for an enjoyable anniversary weekend

Strawberry - the weeks are flying by quickly IMO too. Much quicker than with #1! So much to do before DH heads off for Afghanistan - deployment has been brought forward to end of July and has been extended to a 9 month trip.

Cordelia
10-05-2009, 08:59 PM
mim - yikes!!! i HATE getting sick on holidays!!! any tips for us going to the gold coast? not sure how long the flight is from perth - 5 hours? yikes. hope josh slept in for you - sounds like you deserve it Mum!

Cat - I have to admit I read your status and nearly wrote "congraulations" and then i went - hang on!!! this is very old news!!! teehee funny.... Ours was supposed to be a secret and then we told some ppl and then the sex was suppoesd to be a secret and then we told some people and not others and we forgot who knew and who didn't!! disaster. Next time.... hmm who knwos :P

oh sorry this is a short post. have the worst flu!! It's not funny but my family kept hassling me and saying "oink oink" for obvious reasons. poor daniel has it but Caitlin is safe so far. I am SO :fingerscrossed::fingerscrossed::fingerscrossed: it would make my year if the flu injection worked and she bypassed this one - it's horrid!

Anyway

Hope everyone had a great day yesterday!

Cat...16 weeks, the time is flying by. With DH flying out in July, does tis mean he'll be back for a visit for the birth of bub?
Tired...hope the wedding went well yesterday. :yelclap:for the mothers day stall gifts. Bummer baout the sleep-in (or lack of). I would have got DH get up to the kids.
Tabby...hope you enjoyed your picnic, it was a great day for it. Pwwft to the IL's. Not long unitl the end of the financial year, even if you have to work a few extra weeks.
Mim...:hugs: what a bummer being unwell on your holiday.
Cordelia...:hugs: hope you feel better soon
Strawberry...hope you had a great mothers day. How's the biting going?

Us...had a great day yesterday. Got to sleep-in until 7.15. Well, I was up at 4.30, then 5, then 6, but then slept 'til 7.15.
DD1 bought home a plastic purple gerbra and a pencil and pad of paper from the stall. She did very well. DH had bought me a card and put a voucher for a Pandora bead (he got given when he bought my last bead:rolleyes:) in with it. So I guess that means I can go and buy another bead, just have to find the time:laughing:.

Have a great day,

 Everyone,

Hope you all had a great Mothers Day. I sure did. T1 brought me in a handmade card that he did at daycare. It was beautiful. The verse inside said

My dirty little fingers prints
i’ve left on every wall.
On all the draws and table tops.
I’ve really marked them all.
But here is one that won’t rub off.
I’m giving it to you
Because I’m thankful that I have
a mummy just like you”.

Sorry had to share, it was cute.

Got some good pressies from the kids. The 2 older girls brought home stuff from the mothers day stall. Hubby went out and brought me (from all the kiddies)a set of winter pj’s and the new keith urban cd . So yep i scored well.

Had my parents and my brother and his family down yesterday. Had a bbq lunch. It was great that all the kids got on so well. T2 wanted to go home with grandma and poppy, if only she didn’t have daycare on Wednesday she could’ve.

Now for some personals

Sammy - How was your weekend?

Tiredmummy – How did the wedding go yesterday?

2s’nuff – Got your parcel the other day. Thank you xx. T2 hasn’t bitten for a couple of weeks so maybe she’s over it. :fingerscrossed: she is. Nice to hear you had a great mothers day. on the voucher for a pardora bead. You lucky girl.

Cordelia – Hope you feeling better real soon.

3divas – Wow read you status the other day on Fb about your power bill. I’m not looking forward to mine either.

Cat – Wow a 9 months deployment. I thought they changed all that kinda stuff. I heard Army were doing 6 months and RAAF does 4 months.

Mim – What a bugger you being sick while on holidays.

think i've said enough for today

2snuff - not planning on DH being home for the birth. Could still work out that way but not going to try and plan - too stressful and disappointing if he was to end up missing it by a couple of days because I've gone early or late. Will aim for some bonding time with a few weeks old newborn instead. And with Cameron of course - he'll be the most affected.

strawberry - it was 6 month deployments (which I could handle) as long as I've been with DH but recently changed to 8months as standard for army and lucky DH gets 9. Of course things change all the time so could end up shorter. I try not to whinge - it just is what it is and make the best of it. The $$s are a nice bonus of course but don't make up for time apart.

cordelia - best wishes for speedy flu recovery and hope Caitlin avoids it.

Cordelia- hope the flu goes quickly- nothing worse when you have 2 little ones to contend with.

Cat- what will you do with having bubs- will you stay up north or head down South with family? My Bro was in America with the Army when my SIL had my niece- she came home from Darwin to have her- and the bonus was I got to be there as his representative when she was born.

2snuff- I got 2 Pandora beads yesterday- and always safe to choose your own- one was nice but the other was a teddy bear- so not me at all!

Strawberry- very cute verse- love your new pics on f/b- did you take them and photo shop them yourself?

Work today- Bridget has watched Wiggles all day- well it has been on repeat all day- it has become an obsession for both her and Phoebe.
Phoebe slept all night last night:smiliedance: just wish I had gone to bed earlier- stayed up to watch that Harpers Island:rolleyes:

Hi everyone

The wedding went really well, no major drama's or stuff ups. The groom did loose the rings at my house though & was stressed until we found them. One of the kids picked them up & hid them lol. We are all really tired today though. DH had to work too but didnt go in til 10am. He is feeling very seedy tonight lol. Girls didnt go to school today either... i wanted a sleep in. We didnt get home til after 1am this morning. SIL was sick after they left reception last night. Was throwing up for hours, so she looked pretty tired today when i saw her. We went to MIL to watch them open their presents. I will upload some photos to FB soon.

So a friend did it for me late Friday night.

Tired...sounds like a long day on Sunday. Poor SIL not being well, hope it was a short lived thing.
Strawberry... well done if you could get all teh kids looking at you for a photo. I still ahve problems getting two to look at me, let alone 4.

Us...had mum stay last night. She annoys me no end. She said she'd pick something up for dinner. Yet when I arrived home, she did't have anything. 'Didn't know what TJ could eat':hair:. So I then had to go through the freezer and find dinner for us all. I hate coming home from work expecting that dinner has been sorted only to find I've got to sort it out or cook it all.:hissy:

Totally peed off that i dont get the rudd tax bonus!
Ive been left out as I got all my tax back. The "if you lodged tax and paid tax etc" fails to mention that if you were low income and got it all back means in the end you "technically" didnt pay tax! What a **** off :banghead:
Apparently earning only 9k+ isnt justified as needing it...the rich get richer..
3 divas was it you that also hadnt got it?Maybe thats why for you too? have a look at your last tax return, if the tax paid is the same as the tax you got back then your same boat as me :(

Tired happy to hear the wedding went well- you deserve the day off yesterday- always need a days recovery after a wedding.

Tabby- I would be cranky too- I heard yesterday there was a loop hole re: tax returns- that totally sux- I did end up getting mine- the accountants rang dh last week and asked when we were picking them up- they had been there a little while- they wont send them though as it costs them money. Its sux when you were relying them- or had accounted for them- bit silly!

Bridget and I had a nice day out together today- Phoebe stayed at home with dh. We went to kindermusik, then to have coffee with a friend and then to town for a bit of shopping- left home just after 9am and did not get back til 2!!

Better go get these 2 little ones- they keep getting into dd1's room and pulling things out and apart- and have even found her chocolate stash- she will go off when she gets home from school:laughing: which will be in 10 minutes!

3divas: lol oh no for finding dd1s chocky stash! Sneaky!
Yep, I should have done the online check before but just assumed would get it.Plus means I must work even longer than wanted to get $ in bank!
rant over..no good complaining.

tired: Glad the wedding went well.you recovered now?

cordelia: yep a good nap can make wonders, glad your feeling better!

speaking of naps, so looking forward to the weekend when i can have a couple! I cant remember the last time. 10 months?
My employers are taking us out to dinner the friday night too so will be nice

Am hoping a bfp and not AF to show for it too

Hellooooo

despite my desperate hopes, Caitlin is sick. But to be honest, despite the snotty nose, coughing and occassional whinging.. she just lays on the couch. So it's a smooth ride!!! hehe. thank goodness for panadol.

tired mummy - sounds like you had a good night :P that's hilariuos about the rings!!!

2snuff - the beads were bible and coffee cup :P I hate it when family are more hindrance when they could be such a help. how frustrating after a long day.

tax - i had all my tax back in the refund so i knew we wouldnt get it. but we still got DH's and also got the family tax benefit one

DH home so gotta run.

PS 3divas - i'm so totally jealous of your day. how much fun! Cherish it!

Katie has decided she doesnt need a bed rail tonight! we changed her room around today and when I went to put it on she said "mummy I dont want that no more" then went on to say she wouldnt fall out now after I explained why..
Have her big dora cushion there just in case but am sure she will be fine as she doesnt seem to toss around much in her sleep

Tabby...how did the night go with no rail? TJ would fall out as she moves around continually at night.

Us...Went out for dinner last night for my sisters birthday. The kids were well behaved and the meal was nice. Didn't get home until 8, so the kids were tired. TJ slept 'til 5.30:yelclap::smiliedance:. Me too. I turned the lights out at about 9.30, woke briefly at 3 then slept til TJ woke. One of my biggest sleeps in a while, LOL.

Both girls had a haircut yesterday. DD1 decided to behave this time which made the experience more pleasant. TJ had a fringe cut (and now it's all wavey) and some of the wispy bis tidied up. Will try and get an updated photo soon.

Have a great day,

yay for the dinner out, glad it went well and that sleep! Hope you get many more like it :yelclap:
we were having wakes again for a few days middle night but i ignored the night before and she went back to sleep and last night nothing so hopefully they have passed again.

No work yesterday so am Hoping for work today. i need the $, sooner I earn sooner can leave!
Katie cried when daddy had to go work today..probably because he had to do something after work so only saw her as I was popping her to bed at 730 last night.

2s'nuff -Yay for the big sleep.
Tabby - Not fair about the $900. How disappointing.

Still recovering from the wedding lol. Just so tired & from all the late nights leading up to it & now with all the catching up. I really need to do some grocery shopping but just cant be bothered  I finally uploaded pics to FB... took me ages to edit them & get rid of most of the red eyes lol & then FB decided to be extra slow at uploading. But anyway its all done now. At least other members of the family that weren't there can see them now.
DH has a work appraisal tomorrow. He has been a manager for 12 months yesterday so the big boss is coming to do an appraisal & talk about $$ etc, so looking forward to that! He has done really well since he took over so he should get something from them. Here's hoping anyway.

Just a quick one because Daniel is hungry and telling me all about it!!!!!!

So funny!!!! Caitlin woke up last night yelling I'M STUCK I'M STUCK MAMA.. so I go down and she has both her feet stuck in the air behind the bed head!!!! hahaha.. It took me a good 3 minutes to get her out!!!! Poor thing - she had a temp last night so I know that makes you do funny things in your sleep.

I'm feeling good except fora bit of a chesty cough. Caitlikn and Daniel are quite sniffly - but pretty happy today. We've spent a few days at home (very unusual) and I'm surprsied we're not climbing up the walls - getting quite a bit done actually!!!

2snuff - love to see photos of the haircut!! I think it's getting time for caitlin to have one - how does tierney manage with it? i'm afraid caitlin will lose an ear!!!

tiredmummy - i saw the facebook wedding photos. you and the girls were gorgeous - loved the dresses!!!!! oooo I really hope your DH's appraisal goes well. Would be a really handy time to get a legup.

Ok Daniel is so patient - bless him. I'd better go get his bottle hehe

Tabby- hope you get the work you need- you already gave you notice didnt you?

Tired- pictures on f/b look great:thumbsup:

:hugs:Poor C, it all gets a bit tragic some nights. TJ was having a rant at me the night before last and I couldn't work out what she was on about.
Our neighbour cuts our hair, so between us (distracting, holding onto) she manages to get it done.

$19:eek:, where do they get off charging that? I do some weeding for my neighbour (totally voluntary) when I'm in the mood (or notice the weeds are about to seed into my garden), so she does the kids hair free.

yes, I got quoted $15 for a fringe trim and promptly canceled my own app and walked out! I was spending 160 and they said they couldnt throw it in wth? pfft. Elsewhere did ,so it pays to shop around
I usually do it my self now anyhow, she quite happily sits still.

Yes 3 divas, told her so she has plenty of time to find a good replacement. i end on the first week in July so endowment will be maxed with the new financial year with me at 0 income :D

I cant remove the monitor just yet 2snuff, She still vomits on occasion so I sleep better knowing I can hear it and get in quick before ends up in the bed lol
as for during the day lol we havnt had a "nap" for 10 months? give or take..she just wont do it no matter how tired, but thats okay as we have 730 - 730 I can handle the no day nap.

Tired: loved the pics!!! They looked just beautiful. Hope your feeling more rested soon
fingers crossed dh does well tomorrow

Cordelia: lol oh dear. The things they get them selves into !

I had my blood test results on Monday to say AF should have arrived any day..that was Monday and still no sign of or even remote feeling so am hoping for the BFP for Sunday would be just perfect!

2s’nuff - Yay on the good night sleep.

Cordelia – Had to have a chuckle regarding C and her legs hehehe.

3Divas – I paid around $19 every time T1 needed a haircut in Perth. Now I just use the clippers.

Tiredmummy – Good luck tomorrow hope your DH's appraisal goes well.

Tabby – Bugger about the $900 but your not alone. My mum didn’t get it either.

Sammy - Happy 1/2 birthday to D. That has really gone quick.

Us - Had another kiddie free day today :smiliedance:. Was going to put the kids in for another day but can’t really afford it, not while we are only on one wage. T2 got her ears pierced yesterday. She was such a good girl. She cried for a little bit but she was fine after having some chocolate :D. T1 hurt T2 the other day and all i heard was shhhh Tartie are you ok  and when i went to see what happened T1 was cuddling her and patting her on the back. He's such a cheeky little boy.

Better get going hubby is on the tready and i need to go and stack the dishwasher and get things organised for another busy day tomorrow.

Yah for the kid-free day. LOL,. Every so often I hear the same from DD1. I've been tempted to get TJ's ears done, but DH would have a hissy fit(the fact the he has 3 holes in his ear is irrelevant:rolleyes:). I battled to get DD1's done when she was 4.

DH didn't really want me to get T2's done just yet. He wanted me to wait till she was 6 . He knew I was going to get it done but didn't know when. I figured the younger the better imo. Tabby- bummer about a/f- bring on the 100gm clomid!!!

Strawberry- I got dd1's ears done when she was 18 mo and she was fine- they said it is better to do when younger as the ear lobe is softer so it does not hurt them as much?? I want to Bridget but there is no where in town that does them under the age of 3.

Are you Perthies getting wintery yet or still experiencing beautiful temperatures?? Cold here atm- been icy all day!

Tabby- have a great w/e away- enjoy yourselves.

Strawberry- I saw the photos on f/b- very cute!

Well it has come down to this- I am going to look into setting up a naughty chair for Bridget- she needs some definite consequences for her behaviour and the chair will be it- She is a bit aggressive at times and growls NO at us when she does not want to do something- but what I really need to tackle is her physical aggression- she lashes out and wacks into dd1 alot- occassionally Phoebe- but more often its dd1- so I want to get onto that promptly before it is out of control- I must make her sound awful- she can be a beautiful, funny little girl but has this  evil streak that appears every so often.

Better go, get showered for the day- hope you all have a great day.;)

hello hello hello.

how nice is this perth weather!! mmmm.....

strawberry - cuuuuuute! they really really suit her. she is such a little girl now!

3divas - hope you have some luck with the naughty chair. I was amazed when I set up a naughty chair (we call it "take 5") at my parents because Caitlin actually sat on it and didn't move til the 2 minutes was up and she had to cuddle and say sorry. DH was most impressed!! (I couldn't believe my luck)

referendum - am working tomorrow. nooo!!!! I'm a bit stressed about leaving my whole family sick. How wil they cope without me?! (or do I think too highly of myself). Truthfully, I'm scared of coming home stuffed from a 14 hour day of work (7am-9pm AT LEAST!) and having to sort out a shambles. I hvae my mum on standby anyway. Wish me luck!

Have a wonderful weekend girls! Enjoy the beautiful weather before it starts raining next week! (lets hope the weather man is right!) (or not).

Hi everyone

You perthies sure are lucky with the weather. Its freezing in melbourne :( Looks like it will only continue.
3Diva's - Hope you are feeling better & your headache has eased. I get migraines that last for days so i feel your pain :hugs:
Cordelia - Hope you dont have too much to sort out when you get home. Hope the family is feeling better too.

US - Well DH work appraisal went really well. He didnt have to ask for any extra $$ as his boss said 'well before we start i will just say that your branch is the best in Vic since you took over & i'm organizing you a new car, want do you want?' So that was nice DH wanted a Territory so then when he is home on weekends we can use it & it will be big enough for all of us. So they are organizing that & he should have it within a month. They just have to either give his car to another manager or sell it. And then he said he was giving him a pay rise, will guarantee another 5k but is working on getting him 10k (have to go through the bigger boss for that one), so DH is pretty wrapped about all of that & then DH said the appraisal was over after that & they just talked about work etc. So i'm really happy that they know he has worked really hard & are rewarding him without him having to ask.
DD2 had a pediatrician appointment yesterday. She has been walking on her tiptoes for ages but it seemed to be getting worse so i took her back to see her dr. Dr said she definitely has cerebral palsy & will almost definitely need surgery on both of her legs :( The muscle on the back on the leg is extremely tight & she cant make her foot flat. Even with the dr's & my help it wont even bend/stretch to make it flat. She said she was surprised at how much worse its gotten in 12 months since we saw her last. So she has given me 3 referrals to 3 different specialists at the childrens hospital & said if i dont here from them within 1 week then call her she will get me in cos she thinks its urgent.

So we have had some good news this week & some not so good news.

Cordelia- Hope work goes well today and your dh can cope with the 2 little ones all sick.

Tired- woohoo for the payrise and car- thats great. Not so good about dd2- I told you before about my nephews who do that- 1 had serial casting done and seems to be really good now- but I believe it was quite painful- the other saw his brother go through the serial casting and wont do it himself- good luck with her appt's- def. get on to it immediately.

All good here- apart from the knock to my head- the pain is easing- still a bit of a headache- but I was seriously worried I was going to die in my sleep last night as the pain was quite bad and the panadol did not help  I know I am an idiot!!

Might go to sydney tomorrow for a bridal- shower- have not decided if I should or not yet???

Hope your w/e 's are good- the weather here is really bad- cloudy- dark and windy and cold.:gloomy:

2snuff- scary thought about your job- hope thats it now and your job is safe and secure.

Nice day yesterday.. well sort of- except for the fact I took the kids. Left here at 9am- Phoebe did not sleep the whole 3 hr trip to Sydney- then stopped at my Aunties to get my cousin and then went to the Bridal Shower- Phoebe and Bridget were all over the place- managed to confine them to the backyard where Bridget was trying to climb over the fence and picking green lemons off the beautiful lemon tree that stood in the middle of the yard!@ I guess in a nutshell you could say it was rather tiring. phoebe finally went off to sleep in the car at about 5:30 that evening and then woke soon after. They eventually (all 3 girls) went back to sleep for the remainder of the 2 hours home- Just impossible to do anything with them and I really dont think I cope very well with the 2 on my own.

Feeling a bit blah atm- hoping I am not getting sick cause quite frankly I have no room on my agenda for illness:laughing:

Mil said on the weekend "maybe next time one day will do" when i mentioned how we would love the occasional (every 6 weeks or so) weekend child free wtf she was fine and shes not hard to look after.guess im the wrong daughter in law to ask and get that seeing as they have hers more than she does...They are always offering and asking for her but when I give a green light for anytime they want... No wonder I get ****ed!
DH is very very over the favortism too

Hi girls,

Thanks for your thoughts - Saturday was a bit hard as Daniel cried all morning (and of course I rang up to check how he was and then worried all day!) but came home to clean, fed, sleeping kids so that's the main thing!!!!

tired mummy - talk about high and lows. Congratulations to your DH - that is really comforting to know they think so highly of him! I bet you're proud.
As for your DD... eek. i'm sorry to hear that. But at least the doctor is serious and onto it. Poor thing

2snuff - glad you had a good night out. And suonds like good news for YOU about the job. i'm sure it will all be fine in the end.

3divas - lots of vitamins and water!! i hope you dont get sick. your trip to sydney sounds crazy - you aer very very very brave!!

tabby glad you had a nice weekend...

me - i'm back on the ball now with housework and things. so feeling a lot better!! have the inlaws coming for two weeks and they're staying right up until we leave for the gold coast (always so thoughtful) so trying to get the house ready for them and get ready for holiday as I know that when they get here it will be madness. Have just hired our car (courtesy of election payment!) and started to collect some cheap toys for DD in the plane. We got a DVD player for the plane but I'm not sure how long the batteries last. so might see if i can get a spare!!

so exciting!!!!! BRING ON THE RAIN!!!!! When I went into Caitlin this morning she had stripped right to the nuddy - she was like an ICEBLOCK... silly girl!!!!

Cordelia- glad Saturday went well- your holiday sounds nice but visitors til you leave might be pretty full on.

Cordelia...good to hear Saturday went well. Your bloody IL's are a pain in the @rse.

tiredmummy - noooo!!! Do you know DH didn't even knwo what nits were - I had to explain to him the other day. He'll be introduced to it sooner than later tho!!! I hope you get rid of them quick smart and no one else gets them!!!

2snuff - good on tj for the molar!! Caitlin is finally completing her "fang teeth" on the bottom. They already came up about a month ago but went away again so i think it's not as painful the 2nd time.

3divas - glad you're feeling well. put your feet up when you can.

wow I'm good I just realised I posted last night!!! I'm hanging around for my Coles delivery. The sky is still blue - hurry up rain!! Let's get a good belting for a few days and then back to that beautiful weather I was becoming accustomed to!!

DD1 now has head lice. Found it sunday night & treated her hair but then found some more yesterday, so shes not at school. The other 2 dont have them though which is good but i treated DD2 hair & mine just in case. I dont think Sierra will sit still enough for me to do it so am just going to keep checking her hair. If its not one thing here its definitely another
Bummer!
We had a real bad run for a few weeks. I'd find 1-2 beasties in DD1's hair daily. It was no use treating as there were no eggs.
We've got a Robi comb. It's an electric comb that zaps the lice as it encounters them. Saves me lots of $$ in treatments. I just comb thourhg DD1's hair every morning before doing it for the day.

Cordelia...It's looking very black down your way. You might be in for some nice rain. Still blue skies up here.

Cordelia- I wish Coles delivered here- do you do the shop online thing??? I so want that available to me!!!!

Tired- blasted nits- they are a nuisance hey?

2snuff- good TJ is getting better in her sleeping patterns- seems late for those molars... yes? Bridget got hers before she was 2.

Tabby- I am with you- I try with the il's aswell and end up upset by7 it- but put myseld out all the time- they are not always bad though- it is selective- so can never pick it??

Had my hair done today- quite liking it- a bit blonder and shorter at the back and a bit longer at the sides. Different.

Got it an an Amcal chemist.

We've got the Robi Comb Pro, I think I paid about $60 for it. Definately worth it, considering how much treatments cost. I've even used it on my hair (and found a beastie).

Yeah, I think TJ's molars are late. She was late with most of her teeth.

Hello from chilly Melbourne . Actually not too bad, sun has been out in the arvo's and no rain yet so we are coping. Feels bizarre dressing Cameron in more than a single layer of clothes and still not sure if I'm under or overdressing him for the weather but he hasn't complianed.

2snuff - TJ's not the only one with late teeth - none of Cam's molars have cut through yet but they do give him grief every now and then but at least he can let me know. He says "sore teeth - blue?" as his way of asking for the bonjela tube. Although sometimes I think he just likes the taste of bonjela!

Hi to everyone else too but just a flying visit while the boy naps. We are way out of wack with sleep times after our late flight in on Sun night.

Takle care

Must check my dockets more often, not sure if we got them on ours.

Strawberry...are you being affected by the rain/flooding?

Take-out...what's that? we do it so rarely that I can barely remember the last time we had it. I know DH and I ordered Chinese a few months ago and 3 dished plus a rice cost over $60. At the time I remembered why we didn't o it very often.

We usually takeout at least once a week but lately been about once every 2 weeks. Once I leave will be even less, But then I wont mind as wont be worrying about cooking and cleaning after workand wanting the night off. Not to say that if we can afford it we will probably take the dinner out the 2 of us instead. Mum and ds1 have offered baby sit so we can which is awesome to know we can have a night to our selves now and then.

Shes yawning again but no way we having that nap after yesterday trying to get her to go bed and sleep lol

ahhh the rain is beautiful!! Caitlin is getting good use out of her gumboots and umbrella.

hitting - Daniel, me, the boy at music today!! NOO!!! it's constant!!!! Sorry, I know you're supposed to ignore it but I'm really shocked by it!! at home it's straight to time out - but when she's bearting up kids in music.. hnmm any advice?

2snuff - yay for the job! hope it's a good deal for you

takeaway - very rarely we get a family dinner from chicken treat but that's about all. we used to get indian but too expensive!! Friday night is "takeaway night" but it's homemade - mexican, or indian, or homemade pizza or something. that's our treat :P

naps - she still sleeps from 12:45 to 3:00 ... not in a hurry to get rid of that!!! Daniel feeds at 1:00 and then sleeps til 3:00 too so it's my favourite tim eof the day!! (that and 7pm hehe).... she still sleeps at least 12 hours overnight. She's just so hyper all the time - runs everywhere all day so i'm not surprised she needs the sleep - I do too trying to keep up with her!!!!!

3divas - nice haircut!!!!!!!!! AND HELLO!! NICE CAPS!!!

DH is making dinner tonight!!! Steak sandwiches.... his idea!!!!! It's nice to see the kids pestering him and leaving me to come on here teehehee. spoilt!

Hi all!

I'm back from holidays and stuff. Back at work since yesterday. It's chaos though as I flew in yesterday am, worked in the afternoon and then from today we're getting our laundry & bathroom painted & dh is away for the night.

Glad to hear that everyone seems ok at the moment.

I'm now 6 - 8 DPO & I've started getting some symptoms - breast tenderness (mild & short lived), dizziness, vagueness (couldn't remember random words & forgot phone numbers) and very tired. It's weird and it could be PMS & tiredness combined, but maybe not. After I found out that I have to work another full time year after this one we pretty much decided to put TTCing on hold for 12 months but it was too late for this month ... maybe I won't be working full time in 2010 afterall! I think I'll test on Saturday.

Cordelia –I love the rain too. I brought T1 a pair of gumboots the other day and he wanted to wear them to daycare yesterday but he chickened out at the last minute

Mim – Good luck with your result.

3divas – Your hair looks awesome. I like to have my hair something like that. One day when its long enough to do it.

2s’nuff – I’m on the west side of Brisbane so wasn’t affected by the floods. Just plenty of rain lol. What size is DD1? I’ve gone through C’s clothes and I’ve got some clothes that she has hardly worn. I’ve also got a pair of little girls knee high boots that she may love also.

Shazza – How did you go with the rain. Hopefully you didn’t get flooded. I know your on the northside.

Cat – Enjoy your holidays down south.

Us - We’ve had 2 days of heavy non stop rain here. Its great but not so great when you have to drop kids off at daycare and school. Alot of people on the north side of Brissy got hit really bad. T1 is starting to repeat some naughty words. I’m gonna have to stop saying them . He was talking to E the other morning and she said that he came out with tough sh!t . Yep thats a word i use regularly . T2 is teething big time. Noticed today she’s cutting her 2 year old molars already  We don’t get take out much either as DH and I are eating “healthy”. We do get pizza for the kids once a week only because we get coupons in the letter box $6.96 for large pizzas. T1 loves pizza. Every night when I tell him to come and eat his dinner he comes up to me and always ask “we having pizza mummy” lol.

Talk soon

Strawberry- Bridget likes pizza too- I will say what do you want for dinner and she says "Ah Pizza" or "Ah Chicken"- glad you not affected by the floods.

Mim- Goodluck with your BFP- I am hoping its a positive:fingerscrossed:

Cordelia- Bridget lashes out at times too- quite embareessing when other kids can get along with each other well- I have no answers but I always pick her up on it- try and remove jer from the situation- not sure how to best deal with it though?

Tabby- your welcome to make my house spotless:D

Day off- have exams to mark though- they will probably be spread out over the weekend I am guessing though- dont like my chances getting enough alone time in one sitting to get them all done.

Have a good day all.

Tabby...:yelclap:for the big clean. My house desperately needs it, but it's not going to happen. When TJ goes through a sleepy period in the afternoon, I get out a jigsaw or boardgame and play with her. It seems to pick/wake her up enough to get through to bedtime.
3Divas...marking exams, I don't envy you. Good luck finding time to get through them all.
Cordelia...does she like music enough to threaten to go home if she continues the hitting. You might have to follow through with the threat, but it might be enough to get her to stop.
Mim...good luck with the PT. Sod work, if it's the right time for you to have another baby, then they'll just have to deal with it.
Strawberry...good to hear you're out of the worst of the weather. DD1 is in size 6 and wearing size 11/12 shoes. If you've got enough room, put the clothes aside for T2, she'll grow into them one day. Mmmmm, naughty words, TJ hasn't picked any up yet.

Us...my little bugger. After a good night Wednesday, we had a bad night last night. I eventually gave her some nurofen at 3 (incase it was her teeth)which seemed to settle her unitl 5.45. Just wished I'd thought of it earlier.

Another wet and very windy day here,

3Divas ... hope you find the time to find a dress. I got a lovely dress at Ojay last week - just in time for my conference dinner last Tuesday.

How is sleep going for the early risers? Any better?

Is it still raining in Perth? Wish Melbourne had some.

Josh & I met up with Cat & Cameron yesterday morning. First time I'd met anyone from Bubhub ... we had fun. We went to an indoor play centre and the boys spent the whole time playing quite happily, albeit rarely close to each other. We did get some photos though ... I'll put some on fb when I get them off my camera.

Well, AF arrived last night, so no bfp for this month. We're debating TTCing for 1 more month or waiting for a year. If I got pregnant this month I'd have to announce it at 11 weeks because of the complex way jobs for 2010 are organised. So that's a decision I need to make. I really got my hopes up that I was pregnant, silly PMS!

mim - sorry about your bfn :( good luck with your decision. i guess you have to look at the whole picture of your life. (very philosophical i am!!) we want to get our kids born so I can go back to work without interruptions. it's a tough one.

me - feeling pretty blahhh... daniel is just wakign continuously (after a perfect first 4 months!) what happened!?!?! every 15 imnutes from around 12:00. so i guess you can imagine how i'm feeling. thankfully caitlin is being a dream-toddler at the moment. his excema is really bad so i'm trying a really mild cortisone. nothing else seemed to work so I'm really at the end of my tether. i think he's waking because it's irritating him terribly :( we have him wrapped tight so he cant' scratch it and he thrashes his head around. poor little boy.

cordelia ... have you tried calmoseptine cream for daniel's ezcema? It's just a sticky zinc cream and because it's so sticky it acts as a barrier for a long time. Josh's paed recommended it and it worked wonders. When he was on cortisone cream we'd put that on first, then the calmoseptine over the top. It is just over the counter at the chemist.

Hi guys- been a bit slow in here the last few days- hope you are all well.

We are fine- just busy with work and trying to mark exams- like I tried today and found that Bridget- who was suppose to be watching Wiggles- had painted the loungeroom with a tube of leave in conditioner! She is impossible- naughty- always up to no good!!

Gotta go and get dd1 to karate and then I have to meet the PT.

Cordelia
26-05-2009, 05:53 PM
Ahhh thanks for the advice guys! i havent tried paw paw and i haven't tried calmoseptine cream.

presently it's the cortisone and then QV. Mim, the cortisone was ok on Josh's face and didnt' cause anything nasty? everyone has terrible horror stories but I figure i might only use it a few times to get rid of it initally. I'm sure bad side effects are more for long term use....

Bridget is so naughty!!! haha... what a sneaky girl. at least your carpets/lounge will be silky and smooth hehe

I am hanging on by a thread today.. my little sister is involved with a married man (just left his wife) who has a cihld from a previous relatinoship before that. it's her first boyfriend and she's so naive arrrrrrggghhhh.... i'm overprotective I know! Imagine when Caitlin gets older  I just got an innocent email from a playgroup committee member and got straight on the phoen and got stuck into her!! WOOPS!!!! I think I'm going to have to go out tonight or i'll do my head in with stress and worry.

hmm... better go rake up some friends for coffee... hehe. thanks for allowing me to post a spiel of nothing on our otherwise peaceful thread!

cordelia ... I only used cortisone cream on josh's face very sparingly and no more than 5 times ever! His main problems were his legs and tummy. What does your GP say? Moisturise a lot, try and calmoseptine at least twice a day and cortisone cream as directed. If that doesn't work see your GP again. I don't want to open a 'can of worms', but Josh's ezcema disappeared in 3 days after I stopped BFing ... after 12 months of it being an issue. It hasn't recurred. I suspect I was eating something (probably tomatoes) that was causing an allergy in him. I don't know what I'd do 2nd time around, probably still eat whatever and treat ezcema as needed ... but Josh's wasn't that bad, just a little annoying at times. Going on a mega exclusion diet is still not a good idea as far as I'm concerned as it produces lots of stress and it's hard to tell when the ezcema occurs after eating a food making it hard to tell what it is that is setting it off.

3Divas ... I read today that conditioner is good for shaving your legs with :) She is a challenge isn't she? Have you spoken to your GP about people you could go and see for help?

This AF is a shocker! I remember being worried about my first AF off the pill last time and it was nothing much. This time around it's horrid. I'm extremely tired - slept 9.5 hours last night and 3 hours this afternoon! I'm getting bad reflux, nausea and loss of appetite. Sound pregnant don't I? Well, I'm not - even did another test today to doubly make sure. I just want it over. Dh & I will probably talk this weekend about TTCing to continue or not. I'm keen to try for another month, after that probably hold off for a year if not pregnant.

We're trying a new bedtime routine, so that josh has his milk before he cleans his teeth, not afterwards and has milk sort of as a dessert to dinner rather than minutes before bed. I thought it was going well, but after 45 minutes in his cot he's still talking and making noise (banging things). Not in a major way, but enough that I will need to go in again. We're having lots of trouble settling him in the evenings sometimes taking 1.5 hours although we may only go in 2 - 3 times during that. There's no way we're moving him to a bed just yet.

Cordelia- rant away- thats what we are here for- I would be cranky too if I were you- nothing great can come from that situation- when I say that- shew is young niave and first relationship- she cant settle into thinking that this is all she is worth- tell her to get out and play the field:thumbsup:

Mim- goodluck with you decision re: TTC- night time thing with Josh- is he warm enough? Does he have a comforter- like a dummy, bottle or blanket or even a special teddy? It is a hard one- all kids are different.

Re: Bridget- I spoke to dh last night and we are going to try and really crack down o her behaviour- we thought maybe we have not been hard enough on her and that we need to guide her in the right direction more. Can only try I guess- Was also thinking that maybe daycare could gbe good- to get some social interaction with others and learn some social skills outside the home- we dont see alot of other kids- so that might help too?

Anyways school for me today- better hop off and get ready.

Mim...Does J still sleep during the day? I found TJ to be a rotter to get to sleep for a month or so until we cut down/out her daytime sleep. At daycare she has 1/2 and hour and on the weekends rarely has a sleep now. Since doing this she has been going to bed and sleep without a drama and is even sleeping better during the night.
3Divas...What a nuaghty wee bugger you have. Hope the conditioner didn't take mush to clean up. You might have to set in place some very strict rules and consequences (and carry them through) to try and get B on track. And daycare is a great idea.

Us...:smiliedance:a sleep through from TJ last night. She woke at 5.45 wanting play school and a cup of dry nutra-grain. She had her flu shot yesterday. Brave DH had to do it as I had a meeting at work. Both of them survived which was a bonus.
News form work is good. I've got a job (at least until the end of the year at the moment). Now we're just waiting for the big wigs to sign and make it all official, should happen some time next week..

May not be on until next week. I'm taking a couple of days off, trying to catch up on the things I can't do with kids around.

Have a great day,
Lisa

Hi everyone

Mim - Sorry to hear AF arrived & isnt a nice one.
3Divas - :hugs: Naughty behavior can be really tiring & frustrating... I'm going thru a similar thing with DD2 at the moment. She's picked up quite a bad attitude since she started school but just seems to be getting worse & worse.
2s'nuf - Great news about the job!

Us - Well some great news in the family. SIl found out she was on monday :yelclap: Very exciting. Funny thing is it was conceived on the wedding night :laughing:. She is very happy though & they already have a 2 1/2 yr old.

I had some blood tests today. I have some sort of lump in a lymph gland in my neck. Dr is testing for glandular fever & a few other things & if they come back clear then i will have to have a biopsy done on it... so am stressing a little as my mum had 3 lymph node tumours removed from exactly the same spot when i was little. Will find out results as early as tomorrow but cant see the dr as DH has a work thing & wont be home so will have to wait til Friday afternoon. Hoping the blood tests will tell us something & i wont have to have a biopsy.

I'm Baaaaaaccccckkkk!

Sorry I've been MIA for so long!

Tiredmummy, hope it's just glandular fever!

Mim, I'm so out of the loop but good luck TTC next month and sorry about AF.

3Divas, our 2 certainly make a pair. Besides our latest dirt cake incident on the lounge and our shampoo bubble filled bathroom M has also taken to terrorising his bigger brother. DS1 has usually started it but M certainly finishes him off - yesterday he wacked him with one of my shoes in retalliation (sp)

Tabby, I keep an eye on you via FB and everyone else on there for that matter!

2s'nuff, think I'll probably have to limit M's nap soon. He gets up between 6-7am, naps between 11:30-3, happily goes to the cot at 7pm but doesn't actually sleep till 8:30/9pm.

 to anyone I've missed. I've just been a bit busy, finally having a break from cake orders, got through the Baptism (was actually an awesome day) and D is already 6months - he was measured as 74cm long a few weeks ago and has been filling size O's for quite a while now - scary!

Just a quick pop in on my last day in Melbourne. Flying out tomorrow arvo and will be avoiding anyone at the airport who even looks like they have a sniffle. My FIL is paranoid about us getting swine flu and wants me to wear a face mask home but I don't think I need to be that drastic yet!

Mim - Josh's sleep sounds sooo much like Cameron. Sadly I'm with 2snuff and think our solution will be drastically cutting down or even getting rid off the arvo nap. Cam had a sleep in yesterday after a late night and for various reasons it got too late to bother with a nap. So for the first time ever he didn't have one and managed surprisingly well and was fast asleep before 8pm which hasn't happened in a while. But it is ever so sad to think of giving up the 3 hours of peace I have while he sleeps in the arfternoon (and was lovely catching up last weekend by the way, glad we could fit it in and will put my photos up when I'm back home)

Cordelia - Cam's ezcema started about 4months and probably also similar time of year when it's cold and dry. Was worst on his face but also a little behind the knees and elbows. I didn't like the idea of cortisone either and managed to avoid using it until he finally grew out of the ezcema at about 13months. But although his face looked terrible (like a burns victim at times) he never scratched at it or seemed bothered. If I thought it was upsetting him I would have tried the cortisone. My main thing was to to avoid soap, overly warm baths and moisturise moisturise moisturise. Down here in Melbourne his skin has flared up a little he has dry scaly patches on his cheeks so I've gone back to moisturiser again while we are here.

Sammy - Welcome back

Tiredmummy - hope you feel better soon and test results show nothing to worry about

3divas - sorry if I laugh at Bridgets antics. probably not so funny form your persepective. Maybe the cheeky miss is just bored so kindy or daycare could be a good idea. I've just found out there's a kindy near us that does sessions for 2.5-3.5year olds twice a week - now I just need to find out what the chances of gewtting Cam in actually are!

Take care all,

Cordelia

Thnks for all your advice everyone!!

Excema - I did 2 lots of cortisone and it pretty much went away and maintained it with QV cream and paw paw cream and it's been great for a few days... and then we went for a walk in the pram before and it flared RIGHT UP again - ridiculous. It's either from Heat or just the hayfevery type things in the air round here at the moment I guess. Thanks so much everyoen for telling me your experiences.
mim might go to the chemist and get some calmoseptine now it's flared back!!

sister - so stubborn. they've been together for 6 weeks and it's true love. I decided that I've made it clear what I think and now i'll just play the supportive sister. Otherwise, it will turn into a huge Shakespeare forbidden love drama. Good grief - I was never like that EVER!!! hehe

mim - caitlin is the same some weeks. (with bedtime). no advice here apart from making sure he doesn't sleep too long in the day. Caitlin doesn't sleep past 3:00 now and it seems to make a difference. Also, just out of interest, we found Caitlin slept BETTER when we moved her into her bed. And the transition only took 2 sleeps. Mind you, she was only 18 months so it might be a different kettle of fish at 2.5.

2snuff - yay for the job and the flu jab - lucky you reminded me i have to go get caitlin's 2nd shot!! that is awesome on the sleep. Maybe you should get a flu jab every day hehe

tiredmummy - not good on the glands. have you got the results yet?? let us know :hugs:

sammy - hasta la vista baby! (err dont know what that means but i know it goes with "I'm baaack". Great that the baptism went well! Size 0's!! you'll be planning his 1st bday cake before you even know it :)

Cat - great to hear from you :) I'm sure you'll be safe from swine flu!! mind you i'm stressing out as well. That kindy sounds great - we have one for 2.5 year olds nearby as well but I think we'll wait til Caitlin's 3. (not ready to let go of her just yet!!!)

In laws - arriving on the weekend :barf: better go keep cleaning. (I've been cleaning for the last month but of course all efforts go out the window when one Miss Toddler wakes up!)

:wave:Hi to all- been rather busy here too the last few days- with a trip to A&E with Phoebe after a fall with a stool that she was strapped into- Very scary- poor little munchkin- needless to say the portable high chair seat has been put away and she is back in the sfae high chair. It was just horrible.

Tired- :hugs: and goodluck with your results

Sammy- good to see you back- you truly are a super mum- I dont know how you do all you do... amazing!

Cordelia- good move with the sis- cant jelp with the eczma- never had to deal much with it before? I have heard though foods we eat can make it worse- like berries and milk etc???

Cat- enjoy your trip home- hard to know what to do with the swinwe flu- when we were up in A&E the ohter night they had 3 people in isolation with swine flu symptoms after coming off one of those boats- either Sun Princess or Pacific Dawn- dont know which one- but a worry and then I heard on the radio we have had a first confirmed case in the central west (the area I live).

2snuff- wohoo for 3 things... 1) TJ's sleep:smiliedance:, 2) job security:smiliedance:, 3) a few days off:smiliedance:!!!!!

 to all if I missed anyone!

Well I have a hens night tomorrow night and thinking of heading to Sydney this arvo and staying with my cousing and having 2 nights away from the kids- the thought scares me!!! But it scares me thinking about leaving them for 1 night- and I have to do it again the following week for the wedding anyways- may aswell get it done now and could be easier next weekend??
Got all marking finished this week too- mammoth effort but done!!

Hope you all have a great day!

Hi everyone

Test results came back yesterday & today. I have had glandular fever in the last 3 months so hence why i have been feeling crappy & exhausted but i still have to see a surgeon for the lump in my lymph gland & will have to have a biopsy :( Not looking forward to it but spose it has to be done. Not seeing him until Thursday night though so a little bit of a wait. Will try not to think about it until then.

tiredmummy: No not a nice thing but needed. Hope its not too bad hun and results are all good xxx
Least now you have a reason for the tiredness
my ds1 had that, took him 6-8 months to fully recover from the tiredness, hope your feeling better soon

3divas: Hope you have a awesome weekend!

Doubt we will get another total weekend child free :( MIL said " maybe just one night next time"
ffs not like shes a hand full! Shes a right angel for everyone and no trouble what so ever.
She says she seemed somber and missed me, well yer and not taking her is going to help her get used things like that?
can take the bil's bub for the weekends tho and hes more the handful as just walking and in to everything!. bloody favoritism has carried on from DH and BIL to the kids imo.

cat: hope the flight went well xxx

cordelia: Hope the exzema eases soon

sammy! yep been keeping a eye on you on FB too. lately I seem to be more there than here. Just that with all the forums am on with dd and ttc hard to post everywhere

well am now again in DPO land with the 100mg of clomid!!!
the wait begins....tho i do find the wait to ovulate longer than the testing date
wish me luck

tiredmummy ... sorry to hear your need a biopsy. hope it gets sorted out for you soon and that you start feeling better from the glandular fever! :hugs:

Tabby ... sorry to hear about your MIL issues. We had issues too this year as my mum put a ban on all overnight stays full stop ... but thankfully she lifted it last Thursday as I had to go to an evening meeting til 10:30pm and dh as away.

Cordelia ... how is Daniel's ezcema?

2snuff ... :smiliedance: for the job!

Sammy ... hi!

Cat ... it was fun catching up, hope the flight back was ok!

Thanks for your comments about Josh's afternoon nap. I think you're all right that he is probably sleeping too much during the day. BUT, I think I'd prefer a late bedtime if he has that afternoon nap. I love my afternoon naps and then some time to do stuff while he sleeps ... I'm not ready to give that up yet :). Yesterday he slept well in the afternoon and in the evening, but he only had 3/4 tiny tin of pumpkin & sweetcorn for dinner, so I suspect he's sick!

It's been a difficult decision, but I'm back on the pill. I've only got 18 months of full time work to go and the plan is to just get it out of the way. It makes all the logical sense in the world, but I'd been planning on getting pregnant now and it's hard to shift my thinking. I'd done lots of things like twice a week physio, immunity blood tests (eg. rubella), eye check, dental check, etc, etc. I was more organised than last time! The thought that it will be close to 2 years til I have a baby in my arms is a bit tough. I'll survive though and it's only a year or so til we start TTCing again.

Back home safe and sound. Was nice to catch up with family but we were ready to come home. Even C was saying "plane, home?" the last couple of days and was not impressed when just before boarding the flight was delayed another hour. But no fellow passengers with sneezes or sniffles so all good!

I must be the lucky one to have parents (Grandpa especially) who would kill for the chance to have Cameron to themselves overnight. But I guess it's different because we live so far away that they don't get to spend nearly as much time with him as they'd like. Dad was over the moon when on our recent visit he got to watch him on his own one night while the rest of us went to see Angels and Demons at Gold Class (1st movie I've been to since Cameron was born )

3Divas - hope poor Phoebe (and you!) have recovered from her little accident

Mim - :hugs: I suppose at least now the decision is made you can start getting used to the new plan. Mind you, my friend expecting late August was on the pill when she conceived.....!

Had my 20 week scan today with C in tow. I had planned or a friend to watch him but she ended up having to work. He was well behaved (mostly) and the sonogropher was understanding. She even took him off to find some stickers while I went to the loo - he must have liked his new friend because he went with a smile and didn't even care where I was!

Cat: yay 20 week scan! Did you find out??? lol

Mim: hugs hun. I feel for you, to be so close then have to postpone must be hard..:hugs:
re overnighters: Am lucky since last post, my parents said will have her whenever for one or two nights! They adore her and she them. I just didnt want to ask as they are old (80 , thats how easy she is to have) and look after her while i work as it is but when i was whinging she told me! So at least i know I can have someone to turn to now for some me time for me and DH
Glad your Mum broke her curfew lol

went the maritime museum today and katie loved it! She takes such a huge interest in everything its no wonder shes a smarty lol
knows all her colours and draws people really well, eyes, ears, hair etc and the arms are where they should be and not off the head as usual for age. She just seems to want to absord everything! so she has loved both museums, next time seeing as she likes to read we are off to the library in Perth. went last week but only quickly.

Hi guys- back from my w.e away- had a fab time!! The kids were good- behaved really well and were fine with dh- infact I think he really enjoyed having them to himself like that too- took them to hire movies- took them down town- went to his parents for dinner with them... every time I rang he was never at home- always out doing something.
My mum is having Bridget and Phoebe this w/e for 2 nights for the wedding- she loves it- so does dad. I am very lucky they like to be so involved and my mum mum likes to make it easy for me to be involved in things- she thinks it is important when your mum to maintain a social outlet.

Tabby- :fingerscrossed: for you atm with your clomid!!

Mim- :hugs: for your decision- but the time will fly- how many kids do you want?

Cat- :yelclap: well done for the scan- how was the lil bub? Did you get heaps of pics?

Tired- good luck with your biopsy- you must have been feeling so awful with glandular fever- have your girls picked it up too? It is easy to catch isnt it?

Well all good here- Phoebe had recovered well after her head injury last week- luckily- the poor little munchkin. Looking forward to the long w/e- will have a total of 6 days off in a row as that is how it works with all my days off too:smiliedance:

3Diva's - I wouldn't be surprised if DD1 & Sierra have picked up glandular fever as they haven't been well either over the last few months. There was a few times a while ago where Sierra had a really high temp but not many other symptoms so i wouldn't be surprised. Don't know if its worth getting them tested for it though.

3divas - wb! that's awesome with your DH. I hoep you had a good weekend.

cat - how lucky are you with cam!! hehe.. some ppl just have the gift with toddlers.

mim - glad you made a decision and hope you're happy with it. it all works out in the long run :hugs:

tiredmummy- yikes you poor thing. gladular fever is not nice! Hope the week goes quickly for you before the biopsy

excema - it disappeared so stupid me stopped using the QV and voila - came back yesterday. good lesson!! Unfortunately, MIL is arriving from Adelaide today with some goat's milk soap that (and I quote after I told her we already had treatment worked out): "I hope you will use it because cancer patients use it after radiotherapy" eh? My little boy's face is a bit different. Chances are it's ok to use but why would we risk it when we already have a treatment!? I honestly dont think that soap is worth having a falling out over.

Have a great week everyone - caitlin has just woken up so better go run. (she's had gastro for the lats couple of days and only sleeping 4 or so hours in the night!!!

Tired...:hugs: you've had a lot to deal with lately, hopefully thursdays news is good.
Sammy...good to hear from you again. I can't believe D's 6 months already!
Cat...Good to hear the flight went well. Any news for us on bub's gender?
Cordelia...good luck with the IL's.
3Divas...glad P's ok and that you enjoyed your weekend without kids.
Mim...Time will fly and you'll be TTC again.
Tabby...you're lucky you've got your mum and dad to help with K. Mine are so one-sided that it sh!ts me. They couldn't make it up for TJ's birthday as they'd just been up for Christmas, but can make it up to my nephews birthday this weekend, no matter how many trips they've done recently.

Us...had a great couple of days to myself. Went shopping on Thursday, bought a pair of trainers (am umpiring netball this weekend for the first time in years, so needed them), boots and flat work shoes(Colorado's):D. It's been ages since I treated myself to new shoes. Managed to get TJ's curtains finished on Friday. She was so surprised that night, just stood in the doorway saying oh,oh.. Will try and organised some photo's soon.

Have a great day,

 no, no news on gender. You just have to all wait to find out when I do!! Mind you one of the pics they gave me to take home (no video available up here) has what looks to me like it could be a boy bit but I'm no expert so not putting too much weight on that. Plus I'm sure they wouldn't give me a pic where it was obvious after I'd said I didn't want to know. My gut feeling at the moment though is another little boy but happy either way. Mostly bub was shy and curled up and hiding but measureing perfect for 20 weeks

Cordelia - good luck with the in-laws!

2snuff- glad you had enjoyed your time to yourself and actually bought something for you!

Tabby - maybe you have a budding artist on your hand. Cam's drawing ability is limited to scribbles or recently circles & ovals. He prefers for mummy to draw while he watches and makes requests - I am so over drawing cars and trucks!!

2snuff- glad to hear you have had a good few days- and spoiling yourself with shoes... I did that 2 last week- bought 2 pairs- one off ebay- another in Sydney.

Cordelia- Goodluck with your MIL- you could just pretend to use the cream and squeeze it down the sink- lol!!

I have to go- bridget has just come out to me and called me to her room- she has pooped in her pull up- which she naps in- but she has attempted to take it off herself and needless to say there is poo from one end of her room to the other- my biggest task now is staying calm.

cat ... glad the u/s went well and glad you're home safe.

tabby ... all the best with your BFP! You have a very talented little miss!

3Divas ... did you manage to stay calm with the poo incident? Sounds challenging.

cordelia ... hope the ezcema improves again and goes away. I did the same thing with Josh - put the cream on when there was a rash, then stopped, then it came back. It was so frustrating for all of us.

Thanks for your comments on TTCing.

Josh climbed out of his cot twice this afternoon - after being in his cot for maybe 1.5 hours & not sleeping. The first time I'd just got home and dh went in and came straight out again looking stressed and said to me "he's out of his cot and he's still in his sleeping bag!". Dh calmed down, went back in and put Josh back in his cot. 5 minutes later music came over the monitor ... with no noise prior to that (and I was in the next room!). Josh had emptied his cot including of himself, got out of his sleeping bag and was sitting behind the rocking chair 'reading duckie a book' - aka, pressing the buttons on a thomas book, whilst holding his duckie teddy. Our question: "What happened Joshie?", his answer "Me falled out of the cot again". mmmm

So he's in his toddler bed now, with a Thomas sheet set and Thomas doona and he went to sleep with no trouble whatsoever. Amazing. We so weren't ready for this - his room was not safe for a roaming toddler. But it's done now with very little fuss from him. He's growing up too fast!
