Hi All,
With regards to PT's what are the more common false readings, positive or negative readings?
We are about to go to the Dr to do a blood test etc but have had a positive PT from a store bought kit.
Anyway we are heading off to the Dr's now so I guess we will soon find out.

It's more common to have a false negative. So if the HPT says you're pregnant (within the time given in the instructions) then you're pregnant. My dr didn't even bother with a blood test to confirm it, he just asked if I did a HPT and if I had any symptoms and then said congrats :)
So congratulations! :smiliedance:

As far as I know you can only get a false negative not a false positive within the time limit on the tests.
:fingerscrossed: for you.

Okay, cool. Well I was not sure if you could get a false positive reading or not which is why I asked. Anyway we are just about to step out the door to go to the Dr's.
I am pretty sure my wife is pregnant but if she is it will be a 1 in a million result as she is a PCOS sufferer and we needed to use Clomid to conceive the first time. Our OB reckoned that my wife would most likely always need help to conceive and he is a very well regarded Dr.

I don't have PCOS but I believe I have read others on here who needed some help conceiving the first but had an easy surprise 2nd conception.
Good luck at the drs!
Oh Maverick I do hope your DP is pg:fingerscrossed:

Just one word of caution - believe it or not you can get a false positive if you are on some forms of hormone therapy...but its usually only in relation to those used in fertility treatment. I am sure the hpt boxes/instructions explain that though.
