Morning all

My church is hosting the Triple P parenting program.
I initially replied to the invitation with a "thanks, but no", but now I am wondering if that was the right thing to do.

Ronan is nearly 5 and Ariene is nearly 3, and both are wonderful children. However they also can be incredibly defiant, disobedient and don't get me started on the whinging and whining... I would also like to learn about helping my children to chill themselves out a bit- they get cross sometimes and lash out at me and each other. If they could calm themselves down and behave better without needing time out etc... geez that would be fantastic!!

What do you think about Triple P?

Thanks!

We like it :) but, like every program, you'd need to do the course and see what works in your family.

When I first came across it I thought it was for 'difficult' kids or for families who were struggling a bit, but it's really designed for all kids/parents IMO.

I'm not really sure on your 'time out' question as 'quiet time' and 'time out' are strategies which are both used in Triple P.

If you can spare the time, I'd do it - and then decide what you want to use/ take from it for your own family.

Thanks Gazelle :) S'pose I can't really speculate until I give it a go! Could be worth it...
