It's our birthday month :smiliedance:

Can you believe that one whole year ago we were contemplating how life would change with our soon to be born little bundles??!! I can't believe how quickly this last twelve months has gone!

Thought I'd start a new thread for our birthday month - I imagine there's going to be lots of talking over the next 37 days or so (cause you know - there's some stragglers!)!! Vee....can you....or another lovely mod - please make this a sticky?! :D :goodvibes:

happybirthday Liam happybirthday

Happy first birthday little man. I hope that you have a wonderful day with your mummy and daddy and get to eat some yummy cake and open lots of presents :D

Congratulations Miranda - one whole year as a mummy today! I hope you've enjoyed the past twelve months....the next twelve months are just as much fun! Come in and let us know how Liam's birthday went and share some pictures!

Good idea for starting this thread and posting the list of birthday's IM :yelclap: It is completely wrong that our little bundles of joy who were born just a few months ago (well that's what it feels like to me) are turning 1 already. I'm sure that everyone's babies have brought them so much love, joy & happiness, just like my little man has brought to me and my family.

happybirthday Liam! I hope you're having a wonderful 1st birthday and that you're getting spoilt rotten.

Also, in case I don't get online tomorrow, happybirthdayto Riley, Jordan & Jaylen for tomorrow. May your 1st birthday's be filled with love, laughter & lots of goodies. May their wishes & dreams always come true! :babydust2:

To all the mummies (Miranda, Leishie, Rachel & Kayla) - happy 'giving birth' day. I hope the 1st year of your babies lives have been as rewarding as you'd hoped, and that you've loved every moment of being a parent and watching your child grow & learn new things every day!

Wow, I can't believe its here already:eek:May, the month of birthdays!!
Firstly happybirthday Liam, hope your day was filled with all the things you love the most!!
And to Riley and Jaylen who share thier birthday with my little man Jordy I hope your day is one you will enjoy.happybirthdayboys!!

We have almost everything organised, cake, balloons, food, etc. I just have to remember to charge the camera tonight!! *someone remind me will you* :D

I want evidence of all the fun the little ones have on thier special day too ladies!! I know I'm going to have a million photos, probably starting from before he wakes up in the morning!!

I sat and wrote a letter to Jordy last night, its something I want to do for every birthday. It highlights the things we've been through in the last 12 months and what I want for him in the future. I'll put it in his birthday card and maybe one day its something he'll treasure.

happybirthday Riley, Jordan and Jaylen for tomorrow! You be good boys for your birthday.

Good luck to the birthday boys mummys and enjoy celebrating there first birthdays:party:

Damamma - aww thats lovely, i hope he enjoys the letter when his older. What a really good idea :) Good luck with the birthday!

Am i the only one who isnt doing anything on his actual birthday?? His party will be 4 days (i think) after so i was going to do all the celebrating than, he wont really know after all. Was just going to give him his presents on his birthday.

M2L- Jordy's only having his b-day party on his actual birthday because its a sunday. If it had of been any other day of the week we still would have had the party on sunday. Like you said he doesn't know the difference.

Thanks for the birthday wishes everyone!!

Rachel - don't forget to charge the camera battery  :D

Looking forward to seeing lots of photos of Jordy's party - sounds like it's going to be a wonderful day. I hope you all have a fabulous day tomorrow, filled with lots of love, laughter and beautiful Jordy smiles :)

What a really wonderful idea to write him a letter too. I'm sure as he gets older and is able to read back on them, he will really appreciate all of the effort that you put into writing them for him. What a year you've had with Jordy - you'll have a lot to write about this year - he really is so blessed to have ended up with a mummy like you :goodvibes:

Mel - it still feels like only months since I brought Charlotte home from hospital - I can't believe she's 11 months old tomorrow! They have just grown up so quickly....and I'm sure the next twelve months is going to go by just as quickly  I must be getting old - I swear time is getting quicker!! lol!

m2l - I'm not sure yet whether we'll do anything for Charlotte on her actual birthday, it depends on whether DH can get the day off work. If he can, we'll have our family party on her actual birthday. If he can't, we'll still probably get together with some other mums and bubs for a picnic (if it's not too cold). And if it IS too cold, we'll just let her open her presents and blow up some baloons for her! They really don't know any different, like you said.

Anyhoooo - off to watch Grey's.....I downloaded episode 21 this morning, and both kids are in bed, so I'm going to watch it uninterupted! Ah....bliss! lol!

I sat and wrote a letter to Jordy last night, its something I want to do for every birthday.

I've done the same thing for the past 5 years with Emily, and wrote L's 1st letter a few nights ago. I cried both times, writing the kids 1st birthday letters. I'm sure Jordy will treasure your letters when he's older, as I hope my 2 kids will

Am i the only one who isnt doing anything on his actual birthday??

L's birthday is on the Friday but we're not having his party until the Saturday so DH can be there. I might take him for a swim on the Friday as E will be at school, and DH at work, and we'll give him his pressies on the morning of his birthday and probably have a little cupcake after dinner or something! As you said, he's too little to know any better!

I swear time is getting quicker!! lol!

That is so true IM ... the older we get the quicker the years go by. Sad, but true! Hope you're enjoying Greys ... there wasn't anything exciting on tv tonight so thought I'd pop online for awhile and then have an early night. We're off to ToysRUs tomorrow to buy L some pressies for his bday.

Oh wow a new chat thread, great idea IM.

I can't believe our bubbies are one this month!

Love the idea of writing them a letter Damamma and Emsmum they sounds just gorgeous. I have written some of Cam's naming ceremony and that's getting printed out, so that's all i'm going to use for him really.

To the birthday boys i hope you had a great day and congrats to the mummies and all the special people in their life to help them celebrate being such little supastars!!

Have a bit to catch up on i'm sure, but i really should be studying, or getting to bed, one or the other! :hugs: all round!

:smiliedance:HAPPY BIRTHDAY RILEY, JORDAN AND JAYLEN!!:smiliedance:

I hope your first birthdays are fabulous days for all of you, and for your families too. Hoping there is lots of love, laughter, yummy food and goodies surrounding you today!

To Leishie, Rachel and Kayla - happy birthday day to you all! What a year you ladies have had with your little men - so much has happened in such a short amount of time. Have a wonderful day with your boys today, hold them close and enjoy this special occassion. Looking forward to hearing about their days and seeing some photos!

Mel - have fun today at ToysRUs!! I love that store! lol! Such a big kid I am! Oh and I'm soo glad I'm not the only one who swears times goes faster as I get older! Grey's was good....but made me cry :crying: lol! I've cried almost every episode this season and I can't even blame it on pregnancy hormones!! Just a big sooky lala!! haha!! Only about 3 episodes to go though - and I fully expect to cry during ALL of them!

Hi Vee! Nice to "see" you! Hope the studying is going well, and you're managing to fit it in amongst looking after your brood.

Good morning. I hope the birthdays are going good and i cant wait to see the piccies!

Luca is getting so cheeky and sweet, dear little guy. Im still waiting for Lucas invites to arrive, i want them already!!

I hope everyone has a good day today. Im getting so sick of living in this place, cant wait until new house is finished so we can move in. Hopefully not too much longer :)

Im going to Bali in 5.5 months, reminds me i need to get Luca's passport. Just a relaxing 2 weeks hopefully. MIL is paying for most of it which is lovely.

Well the birthday has officially been celebrated!!:smiliedance:
The party went really well, all the kids seemed to enjoy themselves, there was very little food left (which I take as a good sign), and Jordy LOVED being the centre of attention!! He wasn't sure what to make of everyone singing the birthday song though, he kept looking at me all confused , I'm not sure if it was the song or our singing that he was concerned about though!!
The cake turned out fantastic, I loved it, and Jordy was well and truely spoiled all day.
I was pretty pleased with the way the day turned out. I was a little worried about the kids getting bored (its been too cold and wet to go outside here lately) so I got some large cardboard letters that spelt out Jordy's name and gave the kids paint, glue, textas, glitter etc and got them all to decorate one each and I'm going to put them up in his room. The kids thought it was great, and it kept them entertained for a bit!!

I took loads of pics and as soon as I have them on the puter I'll post them. I can't wait to hear about other May Babies birthdays!!

Hey Mummy2Luca,

Yep very pregnant and believe me it wasn't planned! I was a bit naive thinking that full time breastfeeding and no AF meant that it would be very difficult for me to get pregnant. Opps. But we are very happy nonetheless.

Its amazing, I still look at my little girl and see a baby, not what I thought a one year old would look like. They grow so fast, I miss the little baby she was already, is anyone else feeling like this? Spose I should just get over it .

Sending lots of birthday wishes to all the little May Bubbas!happybirthday

Can you believe that one year ago today you were holding your newborn baby HBP?!! Congratulations on making it through the first year of being a mummy - still smiling and loving every minute of it :D I hope you have a wonderful day today watching your little man open presents, eat all of those things little people don't get to eat until they're one, and being the star of the party!

I hope you all have a great day - can't wait to hear all about it and see some pics of little T man!!

Hi ladies, can't stay for long because L's just getting up to so much mischief today, but I just wanted to wish little T man a very happybirthday, I hope you're having a wonderful 1st birthday, and congrats to HBP for surviving 1 year of motherhood. I bet it's been so memorable and wonderful and that you enjoy being a mummy immensely. Can you believe a few of us have been chatting for over 18 months now and it's so lovely to have been able to hear about these babies being born, and then their 1st year of life :D

Daviegirl, congrats on the pregnancy - wow, you're 1/2 way through it already, surprised I didn't notice in your sig earlier. Now you'll have 1 of each, perfect!! I know what you mean about them growing too quickly ... I miss having a tiny baby, but at the same time love the age my little man is now, he's got such an awesome personality and I love watching him learn new things everyday.

Damamma, Jordy's party sounds wonderful - so glad it went well for you. How old were the kids that decorated the cardboard letters. Sounds like a great idea!!

Kayla, Jaylen's party sounds like fun and I'm glad he had a good time. Did you take him on puffing billy, or just on a train??

I bought L some toys for his birthday today ... the little people bus, some stacking cups, some toys for the bath and some fisher price bongos that play music - cute! Em and I painted L's feet & hands on the weekend and did his footprints on paper, I'll put his photo in the middle and some stickers with his name on it and frame it (did the same for E's 1st birtday). I also got him a Mr Men backpack with some beanies, new socks, books and a sleeping bag in it. We borrowed this book from the library, it's called 'Toddlers Can ...' and it's a hardboard book with pictures of toddles doing stuff (reading, dancing etc) and L absolutely loves it, giggles every time he looks at it. Need to try and buy that book from somewhere!!

Anyhoo, better go and make sure L hasn't injured himself or damaged anything in E's room, I can hear him giggling so that's a good sign!!

Melly - Dont feel too bad about not being able to afford pressies :hugs: we are just lucky enough we can afford them... you are a great mummy and presents and a party does not have to prove that im sure you do a good enough job of that yourself every single day! Try to stay positive things will happen with Jacob and when they do he just wont stop!

Bel - What is wrong with Jarvis?

Its raining here, not nice weather. Hope everyone has a good day.

:smiliedance:HAPPY BIRTHDAY MITCHELL!!! :smiliedance:happybirthday
I hope that you have a wonderful day today little man!! Have a great day with your mummy, daddy and big sister, and enjoy opening all of your presents and getting stuck into the fabulous cake your mummy made you!!

Congratulations on surviving one whole year with two babes Amanda!! Can you believe your little baby boy is one?!! May he continue to bring lots of joy, love, laughs, and not as many heart stopping moments as he gets into even more in the coming year! I hope you survived the long weekend, and managed to spend some time with your gorgeous birthday boy.

Melly :hugs: Jacob doesn't need a party and expensive presents. All he needs is his mummy's love, and no-one can question how much you love your little man. You have gone through so much this past year, please don't feel hard on yourself because you can't give your little one a party. Blow up some baloons, scrunch up some junk mail and newspaper and put it in an empty box - and he'll be in heaven all day :D I hope the hydrotherapy goes well today - please let us know how Jacob goes and whether he enjoys it and seems to benefit from it.

Bel - hope J gets better soon, poor little monkey.

m2l - lol at Luca being half in your bed half in the cot!!! Sounds like you all had a good nights sleep though, so that's great!

Meegzz - wowee!! Hunter's going to have fun opening all of those presents on his birthday! Thomas themed party sounds like fun - Isaac WILL be jealous! He loooooooves Thomas!! loves, loves, loves him! lol! We have so much Thomas stuff it's ridiculous!

Anyway, my feet are cold, so off to put some socks on!

 Meegzz - you're so funny!! lol!! I'm terrible when it comes to clothes with Charlotte, so I understand you going overboard with pressies. I'm being very good in terms of her birthday and presents though - we didn't go too crazy with Isaac, he only got a ride on bike and a firetruck with megablocks in it, so Charlotte is getting the same (well not the firetruck! lol! the handbag instead! haha!).

At least you have heaps of stuff there, and if you feel that he gets lots of other stuff, you can put some of the pressies away for Christmas, or for when he's older and will get more use out of them :D

I can't believe our babies are almost toddlers too!! Charlotte is sooo not a toddler! lol! She's much too small!!

Good Afternoon Girls!

First up, I've got some belated birthday wishes for some of your little ones (yes I know I'm very slack, but I have a good excuse - it takes a lot of effort to cook a baby!) -

A big (belated) happybirthday for last Saturday for Liam! Mirandaj - can you believe how quickly the year has gone - it's simply mind boggling!

happybirthday for Sunday to JordyPordy and Jaylen - Damama and Kayla, hope your little guys had a fantastic day!

happybirthday for Monday for the T-bone! Kat - hope you've enjoyed every second of your little man's first year!

happybirthday Mitchell for yesterday - hope you had the best day ever! amandaw - a friend of mine had her first bub yesterday - a little girl to share Mitchell's big day!

And now some advanced birthday cheer!
happybirthday to Siana for Friday! RM -Hope you have a lovely day with your little princess!

Bella and I are off to QLD tonight so we can celebrate her big day with our families. DH flies up to join us on Friday night - just enough time so that all he's responsible for is picking up a carton and packing the esky!

I'm hoping that Bella is ok on the plane tonight - our last trip up at Christmas she screamed almost the entire flight and to make matters worse she's not well at the moment. I'm giving her a dose of Zyrtec before we leave for the airport to try and clear her congestion a bit and hopefully the take-off and landing won't be as bad.

Anyway, still have a few things to get organised. Hope you all have a great rest of the week and weekend too.

Be back next week!
Ciao!

Firstly big :hugs: and thank you's for all of the birthday wishes! We survived the weekend and have plenty of pics....but the camera is still in the car so can't upload them till later. Despite how hectic it was, it still seemed like a quiet affair (in comparison to C's 1st birthday), but M had a ball which was the most important part...note to self though - do not allow M to get a hold of M&M slice - he grabbed that instaed of birthday cake and I went to take it off hime, but thought 'why not it's his birthday' only to have a very much awake little boy all night - have learnt my lesson

And in turn happybirthday to all our MIA bubba's and Mummies for the 6th and 7th - there's a few of you!

he slept in it fairly happy, but at 4 was half in my bed and half in his

At least you still end up with some extra space!

So does my Charlotte...in fact it's sort of meant that we've stuck away from thomas for Mitchell otherwise she just claims it all anyway  She'd either be in heaven , or an absolute nightmare (ie collecting all the plates etc and not letting anyone else have anything with a T print) at a themed party...and my bet would be the later
- a friend of mine had her first bub yesterday - a little girl to share Mitchell's big day!

Well it is a good date :p ... but in saying that I'm actually a bit scared as to how far the Taurean stubborness will kick in....M shares his birthday with my teacher partner and another hard @rse teacher at school and that scares me  please please please pick up some softness somewhere Mitchell-man lol

And have a great trip up here - I'm sure your family will love being able to celebrate with you! How long are you up for? (oh and I have some footage for you on how wonderful the 21month age gap can be...will post it when DH shows me how)

Us - well nothing exciting today...have another weekend of 'events' for mothers day, and catching up with people before DH's op...unfortunately I haven't yet managed to fully clean up and organise after last wekend, so that's my excitement for today *rolls eyes*. Have been able to celebrate M FINALLY cutting one of the threatening molars, so hopefully the other 3 pop soon and we can stop the dribbing and disturbed sleep. Have M booked in for his vacs tomorrow morning, so hopefully they don't hit him too hard...anyway, off to clean - check back later I'm sure

HI all..... Melly i M2L and i went shopping yesterday and i found some presents 1 will be wrapped from us and one for you guys to wrap... Hope you like annoying noisey things.. they are easy for jacob to play with even if it takes a while for him to use them correctly.. not giving it away its a surprise.. just checked his borthday is sat week so i will send it tomorrow... as i was up with sienna til 3am then jarvis got up.. so im not functioning well....

Well Sienna's 2nd Birthday is Saturday... my baby is growing up... we have her booked in to see her paed on Thurs to see how she is going development wise and the Big Girl starts pre-school on Tuesday for 1 day a week which i dont think will go too well..

amandaw
07-05-2009, 10:26
It is scary isn't it Bel...DH turned around and made the point that C will be 3 in 3 months - how on earth did that happen :laughing:

And I keep asking DH when I get time off for good behaviour....M's had 2 sleep throughs in 12 months now and I'm tired  And you've got both of them still waking

And just out of curiousity...have you got concerns with S? I just wonder because my doc looked at me like I was a nutcase when we requested a referal to take C back to the paed at 6 months (because there was no real reason, just because the paeds secretary set us up with a 2nd appointment)...and at the 6 week check up M's paed said only to come back if we have concerns...

...and what is preschool at 2? How does it differ from a day of day care? It's amazing how much the states differ in what they do....in QLD kindergarten is non- compulsary for 3 and 4 year olds (2 days then 3...I think we'll just leave our 2 at FDC if I'm working) then prep at 5 and Grade 1 at 6

Bel &M2L - Thankyou guys so much :hugs:

Well Jacob started hydrotherapy on Tuesday and it will be every week now for 6 weeks.
He loved it until he got a mouthful of water and started coughing.I think the poor mums get more of a workout than the bubs though:laughing:

next week is full of appointments at the hospital :hair:
We have physio tomorrow,Hydrotherapy tuesday, ear-nose-throat wednesday aswell as the reanl clinic(kidneys):dizzy:,thursday is the genes clinic and friday we have physio again .
Then Jacobs birthday that weekend followed by more appointments on the monday.I feel like this never ends..I may aswell pitch tent at the hospital I think:yes:

Anyway hope everyone is well and the bubbas that have had there birthdays have enjoyed it and a big HAPPY BIRTHDAY to all the bubbas coming up

Mel hang in there it may seem a lot for now.. but what if when J is 5 he is running around going to school just like every other kid.. for now he may seem a little different and so many appointments etc... but when he looks up at you he knows mummy will be there no matter what..

Amanda.. in NSW you have to start Kindergarten which is our 1st grade you can do at big school.. (K -12) by law you have to start the year your turning 6 most people start them the year they turn 5 unless its After August.... So sienna can start in 2012 but has to start by 2013 if i choose to hold her back Jarvis can be in her grade

Pre-school in NSW is usually 3-5 yrs but i found one that is 2-5yrs no babies thats one difference between pre-school and child care... pre-school is all structured etc thats why i dont think sienna will go well.. although i have heard alot of schools starting a prep program 3 hours a day 5 days a week for the year before you start kindergarten (grade 1 for You) which is what you have..

Hi Ladies! I can't believe that this time one year ago I was packing my hospital bag and getting ready to bring my beautiful baby girl into the world (and of course to meet the wonderful Amanda just a couple of hours after having baby )

Congratulations to all of the little bubbas who have already turned one. Mitchell, T-bone, Jaylen, Liam and Jordy!happybirthday

Where has all of the time gone? Siana is so big now - walking so fast everywhere and really starting to communicate which is great. She can nod furiously 'yes' if she wants something although 'DA' means the same thing. Says Ta too which is cute. She is a real Mummy's girl and will cry if she can hear me but I'm out of the room. She's fine for hours with Dad but I come home and she cries and almost runs to me for cuddles.

We bought her a little slide/climby thing from Ebay (she won't know it's pre-loved:laughing:), a doll and little pink handbag, a toy phone and some sand toys as her Grandparents bought her a little tykes sandpit (can you believe it? Was at KMart for $45, reduced from $160!). They really don't need too much at this age and with all of Ry's hand-me-down toys and the plastics cupboard in the kitchen, she's pretty happy already:yes:

I'm taking the day off tomorrow and my parents are coming over. It's a mother's day breakky at Ry's school then just playing with S all day which will be great. We're having a family party for her on the 24th which she will share with Ry as he turns 5 the following week:goodvibes:

I can't believe that two of you are already pregnant again - lucky ducks!:flowerz: You get to enjoy all of this all over again!

Good to hear from both of you V and RM

(and of course to meet the wonderful Amanda just a couple of hours after having baby)

She is a real Mummy's girl and will cry if she can hear me but I'm out of the room. She's fine for hours with Dad but I come home and she cries and almost runs to me for cuddles.

Firstly a very big HAPPY BIRTHDAY  to the birthday girl...am glad you've enjoyed her so much RM :hugs:...and do need to say it's just sad that we haven't seen nearly enough of you guys since then! (just one of the downsides of work I suppose) Hope you guys have a truely wonderful day being waited on by Ryno this morning and then having a wonderfully girly day for the rest of the day (is it time for that first baby-chino :-p)

And that's our household too...M loves other people, but if Mummy's around, only Mummy will do.... this morning I went and 'hid' back in bed, and M, two fingers in mouth, cakmly walked the hallway...checked the bedroom, wandered to the kitchen, back to the study, to the toilet, then to his room and back to the kitchen. He then came and stood in the hallway 'crossroads' and just listened....Dh said to me 'ypu know he's looking for you' and then the moment I put my head up and made eye contact, this huge smile spread across his face and he ran at the bed shreaking... very cute (but does make me wonder if he spends the days at FDC just wandering too :()

and 5....5!!! Wasn't R only just turning 4 and you wondering if school was the right place for him

V - let me know if I can do anything to help out....

Nawww hope you have a great day together!

Completely agree thast they dont know the difference like heck you could even wrap up some of their old toys and give it to them im sure they like the paper better than the toy anyway .

So happy anniversary to you and Amanda also .

On another note so jelous of some of you having walkers, H has proved everyone wrong lol everyone that i know said they thought he would be walking by 9 months because he was so early with everything else and now he has come to a halt, it seems i wil have a late walker afterall haha. Not that i mind as it keeps him out of things a bit easier. He has taken a few steps here and there but i think he does not realise or something :p

Well best be off he is carrying on as n ormal and i think he might want a mummy hug

1 quick thing too Hunter has slepth through the night the past 4 nights :D feeling very proud and less sleep dprived hope we are onto something!!!!

[So happy anniversary to you and Amanda also

:laughing: You had me laughing out loud here (after a first 'what the' moment lol)

:o and now might be the appropriate time to admit that we are yet to get M anything (soooooo bad I know!!!) We were so busy last weekend and as much as I've been looking, we hadn't seen anything we really wanted - these 2 really have so much stuff (with everything C already had)...and of course all of his Sydney relos sent $'s so know we have to go and find something on their behalf too (will do as I usually do with that though and put half in his account)...we're actually thinking of buying a whole heap of balls (he loves them!) and practical things for now and actually starting a lego collection (one the toy sales start...not paying full price!)...totally useless for now, but they have both duplo and megablocks and they don't have a 'long' shelf life, so at least this way he'll be able to enjoy a whole bunch of lego in a few years...

And Meegz - that was so us with C....crawled early, was climbing on furniture at 9 months and then didn't walk till 16 months....if he's started stepping now I don't think it'll be too long :)

And YAYAYAYAYA fo rthe sleep for you - send it our way please (though with his jaw at the moment I'm not expecting miracles any time soon)...he's asleep at the moment - took his vacs really well (only cried on the 3rd) but he's worn out from our early start this morning

Oh and Meegz - have to say, it's lovely to have you back and posting

Vee, it sounds like you are so very busy! I know what you mean about having 10 of them. Although I think we're done, I'll see S hide under her table or so something similarly cute and just think the same:valentine: Hope you have a great Mother's Day up the coast!

Firstly a very big  to the birthday girl...am glad you've enjoyed her so much RM

I know, it seems like we just caught up a few weeks ago but it was literally months...we really have to organise something soon. Life just gets way too busy doesn't it?

How cute with M looking for you like that - no chance to sneak away anymore:p Yes, Ry is almost 5 already....and is loving school so all of that worry really was for nothing. Thankfully

So lovely to hear from you RM. It sounds like you are well and truely besotted with your gorgeous little girl, and for good reason! She sounds absolutely adorable! I hope you have a wonderful day today, having brekky with Ry, and then spending the day with your gorgeous birthday girl. Thanks so much IM - It has been a lovely day - it was great for my parents to get a chance to see Ry at school and brekky was yummy. Since then we've been playing and S has had her biggest sleep ever (obviously now that she's a big girl now:p) At 3 we're picking Ry up from school (and checking to see if we won anything with the 6 billion raffle tickets we bought at the Mother's day raffle:laughing:) then off to a play date with his school friends, back to pick up Daddy from home and then out again to Auskick. It's a lovely day.

Completely agree thast they dont know the difference like heck you could even wrap up some of their old toys and give it to them im sure they like the paper better than the toy anyway .
Exactly, S is bored with her gifts and is currently pulling all of the boxes and wrapping paper out of the plastic bag I was just about to take out to the bin.

It sounds like H knows about this walking thing but he's just going to save it up until a special occassion... cheeky money.

Oooh be careful what you say about the sleeping through - every time I say it, S punishes me by multiple night waking. I do hope it lasts for you though. Isn't it odd how our babies are a year old and we are still getting up at night?

Went today to check out the Lego idea (but being me refused to buy till the toy sales as undoubtably someone will have it 20% off)...and we ended up coming home with one of the Imaginarium wooden train tables.... is a little more toddler friendly (biut will last a long time) and C already loves it ...and better still if they get sick of trains we can always use the table for the future planned lego

Ooooooh noice!!! I was looking at them in the toys r us catalogue and said to DH we should get one - it's such a great price for a table AND track set!! The little ones will have a great time playing with that....and I'm sure you feel much better now you've bought M something - not that he'd know any different!

And the story about M searching for you was sooo cute! What a little cutie! I'm sure he doesn't do that all day at FDC....right?!

Meegzz - I thought Charlotte would be running around by now too - but I must admit, I'm silently cheering that she's not!lol! She gets into so much mischief now - I dread what the two of them will get up to and into when she's walking by herself!! She has finally regained her confidence with standing up in the middle of the room by herself and bending down to pick stuff up, pull things, etc. The 8 or so days she was sick really took it out of her, and she's had to relearn a whole lot of things.

Can you also send me through some sleep through the night vibes?! That's something Charlotte is yet to remember how to do since being sick  Maybe for mother's day?! I agree with Amanda too - so nice to have you posting again! Love hearing about you and Hunter.

RM - sounds like you've had a lovely day! Did you win anything in the raffle??!!

Vee - you sound so busy. Hope you have a lovely weekend away and have a great mother's day.

Cindye - I don't suppose you're reading this seeing as you're in Qld, but I hope Bella had a good flight and you're having a fabulous time with the family. Is Bella on the mend?

Anyway, need to sleep. Tragic, huh 7.20pm on a Friday night. But Isaac has well and truly run me ragged today - I am seriously considering putting him on ebay (just kidding really I am)! Nothing a good night's sleep won't fix (please children, let mummy sleep - please!)

:smiliedance:HAPPY 1ST BIRTHDAY SIANA :smiliedance: I hope you are having a wonderful day celebrating with your family!

I had a 'bad mummy' moment yesterday when I left L with E, in the lounge room to go and do my hair and about 30 seconds later I hear these blood curdling screams  L was standing up at the kitchen table, fell down on to his bum, lost balance and doinked his head on the table leg. He had a massive lump on the side of his head and luckily I was able to ice it straight away for a few mins and the swelling wasn't too bad. I felt awful. I yelled at Em for not watching him, then realised that it wasn't her fault, it was mine, I shouldn't of left him but it's so hard to watch them all the time. Then today, at school, L was hanging out with a little 3yo boy and he lifted up a large square block (that the kids sometimes use to sit on), and accidently dropped it and it doinked L on the other side of his head .... poor child!! :crying:

Had a mothers day afternoon tea at school today, which was lovely. E gave me a lovely picture of myself and on the back it said 'my mummy is special because she plays with me and is really pretty' :D and a pot plant and all the preppies sang a gorgeous song that made most of us mummy's teary!!

Huge congrats to Jacob for being so clever and sitting up by himself, that is wonderful news Melly. Keep up the good work Jacob :yelclap:

Vee, I found a really yummy dairy free chocolate cake. It's called Well and Good Chocolate Mud Cake, it is SO delish! I made a whole cake and found it didn't rise very well (still yummy though) and is sort of more like a cake slice, but if you make them as cupcakes they rise really well! I got it from a health food shop who have a whole range of gluten free, dairy free, egg free etc products so I'll be having another look in there one day next week when I have a bit more spare time!!

I haven't read many posts as I'm totally stuffed and, like you IM, will be having a very early night tonight (I've been up since 4.30am this morning - yeah thanks Lincoln). Have a great weekend girlies!

Emsmum - that's not a bad Mummy moment :hugs: of course you need 5 mins at times and there's aboslutely no way that we can stop them from every fall and bump...more :hugs: You'd be horrified around here then... I spend the day wandering in and out on the 2 of them - I was sitting on the floor (at the base of the lounge) trying to organise paper into plastic sleeves today and looked up to see M standing on the arm of the lounge holding on to the back...so thankful I was close for that one!!

IM - yep that's the one that we got....I say that if you have the $'s (cause still not cheap, but definitely well priced...even more so when the rellies paid for most of it ) I (and C in coming years) would LOVE it - it's really well made and has sound effects and the lot...and apparently it is compatable with all of the TTTE stuff - so that would probably make it doubly practical for you

Oh Mel - poor little L. Hardly a bad mummy moment though - accidents do happen. You still feel terrible when they hurt themselves, but as Amanda said you can't be there 100% of the time. Hope L's faring a bit better today and you're not still feeling guilty.

I too saw the gorgeous picture Em drew on FB. It is GORGEOUS :goodvibes: A budding artist you have there! It sounds like you had a lovely day yesterday at Em's school - bet you felt super spesh! As much as I don't want to think about sending the kids to school, that's something that excites me - seeing what they make and do for mother's day, father's day, Christmas, etc!! So much fun stuff to look forward to.

Emsmum - that's not a bad Mummy moment :hugs: of course you need 5 mins at times and there's aboslutely no way that we can stop them from every fall and bump...more :hugs: You'd be horrified around here then... Goodness Amanda - you really need to sew some velcro onto M's clothes and velcro him down, don't you?! Gosh he's a monkey!! Thankfully C's not too much of a climber just yet, actually - I take that back seeing as she is forever trying to get out of her highchair and climb up onto the back of the lounge. But she's not actually climbing ON to things yet - which is a relief!!

I had a chat to DH about the train table this morning "So this lady, in my birth group, she has two little ones, the same age as I and C, and she bought the train table that I was telling you about for her little boy's first birthday, and she says it's really good, and it makes noise and EVERYTHING, and the kids love it, and that if we have the money we should TOTALLY get one too". DH looked at me and replied with "okay...what would you prefer? A train table that Isaac won't let Charlotte play with because he will say it's his and will hit her on the head and push her away if she tries to touch it while he's playing with it, or a pandora bracelet for mother's day?" I said the table, but I don't think he believed me!

Anyway - we too had a screamer last night, so while she's napping, I'm going to lay my head down on the lounge!!

Oh - but before I forget - I haven't seen ANY first birthday photos yet people!!! I want to see our toddlers!!

Melly - Yay for Jacob, look how cute he is, he just has gorgeous eyes, what a sweetie :hugs:

Amanda - Hope M had a reason for his late night screech fest, you poor thing, hope you have a better night tonight. The train table sounds awesome! Least you got a pressie for M now, i still haven't got Cam anything, i'm probably not going to get him anything either, his naming day/birthday party is costing about $500 or so... so he'll just get pics and happy memories from us!

Rynosmum - So good to hear from you and how Ry and Siana are going, we should so try and do another meet up again with the brissy mums, maybe when Bec comes up here again (right Bec, we wanna meet you! lol)

Mel - Awww you aren't a bad mummy, far from it, it's so easy sometimes to think, they'll be right for just a second and then something happens. :hugs:

Evening all,

Thanks for your words of support re my parenting skills  (or lack thereof, he he). I don't feel as bad today. I know that there will be many more falls, cuts, scratches, bruises, bumped heads & other body bits. Just feels awful when they hurt themselves, and I felt bad for getting grumpy at E. It wasn't her fault, and I should have known better. Sometimes, compared to L, she seems so big and grown up that I have to remind myself that she is only 5! God love her!!

Amanda, I haven't read back too far (only what was at the bottom of this page) but M's been screeching has he?? L has just started doing this too over the past 4 days. He screeches & squeals at the top of his lungs, really loudly. He's been getting into so much mischief, playing with absolutely everything he shouldn't be and today we caught him about to eat cat litter :o. He bangs on the glass windows, opens drawers, tries to get in the shower all the time, squeezes through small gaps, tries to push the clothes airer over, takes all the washing out of the washing basket and throws it on the floor, and the other morning we found him stuck behind the couch (he couldn't get out, we heard him crying but couldn't find him), and today he bit me on the shoulder (hope that's not the start of things to come)! Aaarrrgghh :hair: But he's too darn cute to get angry with! He's been doing some very funny things lately, he's taught himself how to make a clucking noise with his tongue, when someone laughs he laughs too (but it sounds like a machine gun, LMAO), and waves at anyone and everything.

Also, what was the m&m slice you talked about the other day, sounds delish (not that I can eat it atm anyway, but DH and DD would love it). Can I have the recipe pls lovey??

Yes IM and Amanda, E's portrait of me was great wasn't it? I'm very proud of her, she has come such a long way :goodvibes: I miss her when she's at school, saw a mum grocery shopping the other day with a 4yo girl and got tears in my eyes. Big sook!

Melly, loved the photos of Jacob, such a clever boy for sitting all by himself. You must be very proud!! A great early mothers day gift for you!

I hope those of you who have been having unsettled nights get a good rest tonight, or at least a sleep in tomorrow

happybirthdayto Bella, Josh & Anouk. Hope you're all having wonderful 1st birthday celebrations.

Happy mothers day to everyone for tomorrow, especially the 1st time mummy's. I'll be celebrating my 6th mothers day with E, and my very 1st mothers day with L tomorrow so that's extra spesh! I'm getting breakfast in bed, lots of pressies (E has made me things at home, brought me 3 things from the school mothers day stall, and DH has brought me something from the kids too so it should be great), and then we might spend some time at the park. Nice relaxing day with my 3 favourite people, doesn't get much better!

Happy birthday for yesterday Sienna

"okay...what would you prefer? A train table that Isaac won't let Charlotte play with because he will say it's his and will hit her on the head and push her away if she tries to touch it while he's playing with it, or a pandora bracelet for mother's day?" I said the table, but I don't think he believed me!

 i guess I can see his point (and hope he followed through with the bracelet then :-p) C'as actually been really good - only gets frustrated when M tries lifting up the pieces of track and they dislocate from each other, but we've showed her how she can fix them so that's not too bad...otherwise they're sharing well. I guess it our case it's a little different with the girl being the older one..we just assume that M will appreciate it in the future (though that just may be a big assumption - M loves all of C's dolls that she never took an interest in ), where as maybe your C won't be a train fan

Melly - great pics and more :yelclap: for J's sitting - has there been a repeat performance? (and IM - still haven't downloaded photos yet, but will)

EM - yes, lots of shreking when he gets frustrated or doesn't get his own way! It's like a 2yo tantrum already (though he does have a good guide there lol). We lost C behind a bed once - it's that little bit terrifying when you can hear them in distress but can't find them to do anything about it...and sounds like M, L and Cam would may a good trio of destruction...when V was over here a month or 2 ago, Cam headed straight to the bookcase and all of the same things that M likes to get his hands on

And the M&M slice is fantastic (and oh so easy and impressive looking).

Double Chocolate Fantasy Bars

(Makes 32 bars)

• 1/3 cup better, melted
• 2 cups chocolate cookie crumbs
• 395g can sweetened condensed milk
• 340g M&M’s semi-sweet chocolate baking bits (I don't think these exist anymore..well I can't find them...so I just use a bag of normal M&M's and make up the weight difference with white chocholate chips or whatever else i have on hand)
• 1 cup shredded coconut
• 1 cup chopped walnuts/pecans

Preheat oven to 175 C
1. Combine butter and cookie crumbs well and press mixture into the bottom of a 13 x 9 inch baking dish
2. Pour sweetened condensed milk evenly over the crumbs
3. Combine the chocolate, coconut and nuts and sprinkle mixture evenly over condensed milk and press in lightly
4. Bake 25-30 mins or until set
5. Cool completely before cutting and store in a tightly covered container

It's great at christmas time when they do the packets of red and green M&M's - very festive

And a very happy mothers day to everyone...especially those who were still baking their bundles last year and so it's the first this year :bee: Hope everyone is getting well and truely spoilt with attntion (and yes I know it's sad I'm on here, but DH got up to the kids this morning ...3rd time in 12 months - I remember him getting up last year for mothers day when M was a newborn and I wandered out not able to sleep anyway and he had got C breakfast and she was sitting at the table and he was sitting opposite her, head on teh table asleep  I sent him back to bed - at least he tried lol.....so he's in bed, M's asleep and C's cuddled behind me on the spare bed.....beautiful morning so far

M2L - hope your DH spoils you when he gets home then

Happy 2nd birthday for yesterday Sienna!! Hope you had a lovely day.

Amanda - So true was thinking the same thing about Linc, him and Cam and M would have a ball together, cheeky little ratbags, but oh so adorable!! Glad you are having a good mothers day so far, got woken up early by a text message from a friend to say happy mtohers day which was nice, but i don't wanna celebrate mothers day till my kids are awake and they don't wake up that early thank god! haha. Am so tired today, going to have a nap before lunch i think!

Mel - As i said to Amanda Linc sounds like he'll go well with our little misters! Cam is also doing a bit of shrieking of late, points at things till we give it to him and walks around like he generally owns the place, it's hysterical. Hope you have a lovely day with Em ad Linc :hugs:

Mummy2Luca - Happy mothers day to you, hope your day is lovely. Goodluck with the passport piccy, Joshy got a passport when he was about the same age as Cam is now and we managed to get a decent one, its hard for them to stay still, not be screaming and not smile either, they just have to sit still and look straight at the camera, pretty hard to pull off at times. Where you guys going?

Hopefully we'll be home tonight so i can download the piccies of mothers day, i think mum liked her gifts from the boys, took me ages to make them! lol And she's getting me a photo frame to put a nice photo in of all of us.

Think i might be off for a nap now, have a great day ladies!!

happybirthdayto Sienna for yesterday. Hope she had a wonderful 2nd birthday, meant to wish her a happy birthday at the end of my post last night but completely forgot, sorry Bel!

Thanks for that slice Amanda :D will definately be making that when I can start eating dairy again, sounds delish!!

Vee and Amanda, I think our 3 boys together would get into lots of mischief . We are planning a trip to Qld in the first week of Feb (ages away, I know ... but still) next year so we might have to get them all together.

I've had a lovely mothers day and been spoilt rotten. DD and DH made me poached eggs, bacon & baked beans with toast for b'fast and a cuppa, so that was great. I got some perfume (Eternity, Calvin Klein) and a digital photo frame. At the mothers day stall at school E got me some coat hangers (LOL), a new toiletry bag and some earrings. She also went on an excursion to Bunnings on Thursday and painted a ceramic pot plant holder for me, and then gave me the pot plant holder with a pot plant in it on Friday. :yelclap: She's also done me about 5 drawings, 2 paintings and given me about 58 cuddles today. It's been a wonderful day, we had fish & chips on the lawn outside for lunch. L sat with me for a whole 3 minutes this morning and we just cuddled, so that was gorgeous - he must have known!! :D

Happy mother's day fabulous May mummies :D I hope you all had wonderful days with your gorgeous little ones. Amanda - DH did indeed follow through and Isaac raced upstairs this morning to say "you wanna present mum?" before thrusting the gift box in my hand and ripping the paper off it

Vee - definitely, definitely, definitely going to meet up with you Brissy ladies when I'm up next!! I was hoping we'd actually be up there this month - my BIL turned 30 last Sat, and my cousin got married yesterday, so the plan was to come up for the birthday, stay the week, and come back home after the wedding. Didn't pan out though - so super bummed! Ah well - we'll be up in December for my little bro's wedding, I know that for sure, so hopefully we'll have time to catch up then!

Mel - sounds like you were super spoilt today!! I can't wait until Isaac can make me things and buy me things and cuddle me all day long!! Charlotte too, of course! But I don't want her to grow up too quickly just yet!! Your fish and chips on the lawn sounds great :D Our picnic ended up inside our lounge room today! lol! The weather turned quite yucky, the sun disappeared, so we just had our breadrolls, hot chicken and chips in the toy room! Was still lots of fun and just a bit spesh!! DH was actually feeling pretty crook today, so has said he'll make it up to me next weekend. I don't mind - I just wanted to spend today with my favourite people, and I got to do just that!

Melly - such great photos of Jacob!! He is THE happiest bubba!! He always looks so happy and content in the photos that you post of him.

happybirthday to Sienna for yesterday!! 2!!!! Now the fun REALLY starts Bel!! Hope that S had a great day - and you were able to enjoy it too without worring about going into labour this time around!

good morning everyone. Happy birthday to the May 11th bubbas! Not sure there are any people that regularly come here with an 11th birthday.

Hope we are all having fabulous birthdays for our little ones and most of all they are enjoying them selves. Ill be sending the invites out this week, just family though and most of them know about it. Its so hard when MIL (who is paying for most of our trip to bali) doesnt want her daughters boyfriend there or her ex husband and his wife...I dont exactly want my sons first birthday to be a war! I just want the people close to him there.

Do any of you have any tips to stop people trying to pick Luca up? People he doesnt see very often scare him. My mum and sister and usually MIL are fine but the rest dont see him often enough for him to know them. I dont want him crying his whole party because people keep trying to hold him :(

oh Bel that doesn't sound good.....

And M2L - sorry no useful tips there...my 2 both loved being picked up...doesn't matter who by :p My only possible suggestion is to let them pick him up and if he reacts, loudly explain why so that others get the hint....give it a little while and he may get more confident and go 'visiting' people by the end of the party

Off for a quiet night to night...M was awake at 5 and miserable, but apparently wonderful at FDC  He's about to cut the 2nd molar so I know he's in a bit of pain but come-on already :hair:. And Dh will join that list tomorrow....in at the hospital by 11 and then he's in overnight...may spend the night at my parents, but haven't worked out that far yet.....so if I don't get back on in the next few days I'm thinking of you all

Oh Amanda. Good luck to you (and DH) for tomorrow - what a yucky day.

Mel, can I just say that you are possibly the most lovely person I've never met:laughing: We received Siana's card and gorgeous headband in the mail today - she was wearing it tonight (even though she hardly has any hair ). I've been looking for a nice pretty soft one as the others all hurt her head so we love it - thank you so much for thinking of her:hugs:

M2L, you can be like me and just carry bubs everywhere for the day. It gets uncomfortable but at least I know everyone won't be freaking her out.

Happy belated birthday to Sienna too Bel! I keep forgetting that she's a May baby too!

IM, We would love to meet you! Of course you too Mel! - Please let us know well in advance so we can make sure to all be free.

Do any of you have any tips to stop people trying to pick Luca up?

I, or DH, always used to just carry E around if we were at a gathering where she didn't know many people. I found that she always stuck close to us at those kind of things anyway and would get sooky if we put her down. If someone she didn't know picked her up she would scream and they'd quickly hand her over to me or DH anyway, LOL

Mel - I meant to say last night - love your new av

Thanks IM, pretty darn cute isn't it??

And Dh will join that list tomorrow....in at the hospital by 11 and then he's in overnight...may spend the night at my parents, but haven't worked out that far yet.....so if I don't get back on in the next few days I'm thinking of you all

I hope M's molar breaks through soon so that you have some peace and he gets some relief too. Also, I hope that your DH's operation all goes well tomorrow. At least after tomorrow it will be over and done with, and he can start the road to recovery! Look forward to hearing from you soon about how it all went. I'm sure he'll try and milk it for all it's worth, typical male :D

I'm so glad that you received the card & headband. I used to love putting them on E when she was a baby because they are nice and soft, and 1/2 the time she'd forget it was even on. It was nothing much, just something small :) I'm looking forward to seeing a photo of S wearing her new headband, bet she looks gorgeous in it!

I will definately give you ladies lots of notice about when I'm coming to Qld as we definately have to meet up. At this stage it will be the 1st week in Feb, is that enough notice for everyone? (RM, Vee, Amanda etc.)

Well L's been his usual 'getting into mischief' self today .... his latest thing is banging on the front window when people walk past. There's quite a distance from our front window to the naturestrip, but he gets all excited - he has the legs bopping up and down, bangs on the window and just smiles his little face off! Hope he grows out of the squealing thing quickly  E got a certificate at school assembly this morning for being a clever little bunny and learning her golden words so she was pretty chuffed, so was I. Unfortunately though I wasn't very happy when she bit her brothers finger this afternoon because 'he wanted her to' I have no idea where that came from ... she hasn't bitten anyone since she was 2!

Anyhoo, off to do some invoices and then might have an early night. Been up since 5.30 this morning (thanks L), 6am yesterday morning and the 2 mornings before that were 4.30am starts . Ah well, at least I'm getting chunks of 6/7 hours so it's not too bad I suppose.

Nighty nite!!

Good Morning Girls!

Just dropping in for a quick Hello - we're still recovering from our trip to QLD and I have MOUNTAINS of washing waiting...

Amanda - that slice sounds amazing - I'm definitely copying that recipe!

Bel - is Sienna better? Did she get to preschool today?

Melly - Hooray :smiliedance: for Jacob - fantastic news! Those photos are just gorgeous. What amazing eyelashes your little spunk has!

EmsMum - you certainly were spoiled for Mother's Day! I have to go and buy my own present this week (although , to be fair, I want new shoes so I really need to choose some myself!)

M2L - I would just say to carry L around at his party if I was you - it's what I had to do with my sooky baby!

A big Hello  to everyone else!

Well, our trip to QLD was action-packed (as usual). Bella was being especially clingy, and was basically attached to me the whole time, which made it very difficult to organise her party!

We had the party at a park near my parent's place and went down on Saturday morning to set up, be there was already someone set up for a party in the sheltered BBQ area, so we had to resort to plan B. Lucky my parents have a marquee that we were able to set up under a big tree - it ended up looking really pretty.

Bella was spoilt rotten - lots of new clothes and books and a few new toys. We also got some money to get her a Princess Ratbag pettiskirt - Mums with little girls, you have to google them - they are just gorgeous! And of course we also came home with a whole heap of hand me down clothes from my sister's twin girls who are just over a year older than Bella.

Plane trips were not much fun - in the future we're going to make sure we fly during the day instead of at night... And Bella still has a really snotty nose which probably didn't help during the flights.

I've started to try and wean Bella off her 2 feeds of the day - last night she went to bed without her night feed and seemed ok, but woke up earlier than usual this morning and seemed starving. Going to do it slowly - don't want to end up with mastitis again. But I'm just so exhausted at the moment. DH reminded me that I was this tired during 1st trimester with Bella but I'm sure the b/f isn't helping with my energy levels!

Anyway, this ended up being a much longer post than I thought... Oh, I have birthday pics on FBook, so PM me if anyone want a squiz and I'll send you the link!

Have to go - the laundry is calling,
Hope you all have a great day,
Ciao!

cindye - oh i know i have a boy but i really would like a girl next :p but them skirts are adorable! Just gorgeous. Oh i saw the most beautiful little babys dress is myers yesterday, was cream and lacy and oh i so wanted to get it!! How is it being pregnant with a little one? I would be heaps worried about being exhausted. I was spoilt when pregnant with Luca, didnt have to do much at all :D night flights are bad? i thought they would be better but i guess not. Cant wait to see pics!

Have a great day everyone

Oh does anyone know how to put the signature thingys below your posts? I so want to know how and cant figure it out. Also how do i put a display photo thingy?

Amanda - hope everything went well for your DH today. I know you won't be reading this, but hope that surgery went without any problems, and that his recovery is quick and he doesn't drive you too crazy! Hope your day wasn't too big, and that the kids were well behaved and are enjoying the sleep over at the grandparents (if you ended up staying there) :)

RM - oooh lucky Siana!! How lovely of you Mel! Please post some piccies!! Want to see your gorgeous girl modelling her pressie :D

Mel - L sounds soooo cute!!! I'd walk past your house to just see him waving and banging in the window!! lol! EEEK - about Em biting Linc. Where on earth do they come up with these things?? Isaac the last day and half has taken to "I'm just going to smack Charlotte on the head" WHAT THE??!! Given that we don't go around smacking anyone on the head, I don't know where he's picked it up or why he's doing it. And then he gets upset because Charlotte doesn't want to play with him because he hurts her!! Ah, got to love 'em, hey?

Cindy - glad you had a good trip away (well good in between the plane flights and the clinginess!) I've seen those princess ratbag pettiskirts before - they're devine, aren't they?! Good luck with the weaning - it is sooo exhausting being pregnant, having a little one to run after, and breastfeeding too. I was so much more tired when pregnant than I was with Isaac, and when I was pregnant with him I was working a 40 hour week and travelling two hours to and from work each day!! Just shows how much work being a SAHM to a little person is!

m2l - I'd just be holding onto Luca at the party too. Hope it all goes well - did you get the invites out today?? Hopefully, as the party goes on he'll warm to more people, and you'll be able to let him explore on his own.

My two have snotty noses and coughs at the moment :crying: I know it's that time of year, but it just means we can't go to the park, or walk to the shops or anything, which sucks. Ah well, the in-laws are down in a week and a bit, so hopefully if they're sick now, they'll be over it and back to their happy selves while nan and pop are here.

Need to convince the boy to go to bed - he had a really late nap this arvo, so is, of course, full of beans!

Back to chat later lovelies!

Well I went and put the invites in to be printed this morning and then about half an hour later DH rings me up to tell me he could be going away for work - yep you guessed it - for Charlotte's birthday :crying:

He'll be leaving at the end of this month for a week or so. Which would suck. I know she won't remember, I know we can celebrate when he comes back, but it still sucks. Grrrrrr :hissy:

Anyway, he won't find out until later this week. Not going to get too mad or upset until we know for sure.

Bel-
Hope youre feeling better soon, as that doesnt sound good at all.

Sorry I havent had a chance to read through all the posts properly as we are spending alot of time at the hospital lately.

Ohh someone asked if weve had a repeat performance of Jacob sitting and  we have..Hes getting better at sitting all the time:yelclap: He cant pull himself up to sit still but he gets about 3/4 of the way there now.
Jacob is also getting his molars at the moment and is so sooky he cries at the drop of a hat when he isnt usually like this.I gave him some panadol last night as he hasnt been sleeping as obviously hes in pain and he :barf:it all up straight away all over me and himself:hissy::(.
So I wont be giving him that again as dont know if he had a reaction to it or he just didnt like the taste

AND THE LATEST NEWS IS.....

We had to go to the hospital yesterday and found out Jacob now has to get grommets in his ears as he has fluid build up in his middle ear.It just seems like one thing after another at the moment.I feel so sorry for Jacob :crying:I guess in a way its good as hes little and wont remember it

I hope all mums and bubs are well....and I still cant believe Jacob will be 1 in a few days...wheres our babies gone

Super busy around here - DH's op went well (as far as we know) back to the specialist for the big reveal next Friday. DH's been a pretty pleasant patient so far...so lets hope he stays that way.....just feel like everyone's coming to visit...stays to be fed and then walks away and I get the clean up as well as the nursing and kidlets *sigh* but that's okay

Anyway, have to race...will come back with some more pm's from during the week soon (and the promised b'day photos....I hadn't forgotten!)

I hope you're having a super special birthday today with your wonderful family!

happybirthday to Morgan for today to!

Hope all of the birthay bubs are being showered in love, affection and there is lots and lots of laughter and yummy food to be had today!

Bit quiet in here lately - all busy with our toddlers () I guess!

HBP - Cuuuuute photo of T!!! What a little spunk! Sorry to hear about your AF :hugs: Mine was not pleasant at all when it first returned either, but you know - on the up side, you can give T a little brother or sister now :p

Vee - hope you got all of your assignments and uni work done, and that everything is all organised for tomorrow. looking forward to catching up with you a bit better next week once everything dies down for you a bit.

Amanda :hugs: so much fun when you're left to do everything, isn't it? Glad DH is being a good patient - hope the visiting stops soon, and if it continues the visitors at least start pulling their weight. Sooo rude!

My little girl has a snotty nose and a smokers cough! Poor little love. It's one thing after another at the moment. Have confirmed that DH WILL be away for her first birthday, so am sad, mad, annoyed, sad, angry, sad, really p!ssed of, and well, sad! I know Char won't remember, but that's not really the point - it's her very first birthday. Her anniversary of coming into this world. The in-laws arrive on Friday for the weekend, so we're going to have a little party for her while they're down here, and daddy can be in some "birthday" photos with her. Hopefully that'll make me feel a bit better about it all, but at the moment, still pretty flat.

Best be off, I can hear someone opening the sliding cupboard, and it's not me or DH!

My ear is still bleeding and leaking

That doesn't sound good at all Bel ... hope everyone in your house is well and truly on the mend now!

Have another assignment due on Monday and haven't started that one, and then Cam's naming day/birthday on Sunday

I hope that you got your assignment done and that Cam's birthday/naming day was superb, and that things start to slow down a tad this week for you. Looking forward to hearing about cam pants' big day, and seeing some piccies.

i've just got the dreaded AF and after a year and nine months of not having it, it has come back with a vengeance!!

Hope you are feeling better hbp! I remember when mine returned after having E, I stopped breast feeding her at 6 months and AF arrived 2 months later and OMG, it was so full-on, couldn't believe it. This time around I seem to be getting periods every few weeks, has been like this for 2 months or so now, very frustrating - and I'm still breast feeding :hair:. Having an internal ultrasound next week just to make sure everything's hunky dorey! Oh, and I must say that the T-man is such a little spunky chops!

Jacob now has to get grommets in his ears as he has fluid build up in his middle ear.

Poor Jacob ... it definately must feel like one thing after the other. I guess these setbacks just make you all the more stronger and love your precious little boy even more! I loved the birthday photos, very adorable  L is getting the same bongo drums for his birthday on Friday, amongst other things!

Have confirmed that DH WILL be away for her first birthday, so am sad, mad, annoyed, sad, angry, sad, really p!ssed of, and well, sad!

Oh you poor love .... you're right, C won't remember it when she's older but I would be terribly upset too if I were you. I bet your hubby's upset about it too, and celebrating it prior to him going away is a good idea, the family photos sound great. You, I and C will just have to have a lovely picnic or something on her actual birthday and just hang out, the 3 of you! If I was closer I'd come and celebrate with you :hugs: Hope C is feeling better too, there's so much of the dreaded colds/flu going around atm.

Amanda, glad to hear that your hubby is being a good patient (so far). Looking forward to what's been happening in your neck of the woods when you get a minute!

:wave:m2L and anyone else that I've missed. Cassie, I hope Nat's birthday went well ... what you had planned sounded great, looking forward to seeing pics!

E went to her first disco yesterday. Her friend from school had a disco party for her 6th birthday and it went from 4pm until 6pm. E had a ball, it was so much fun watching her dancing around. She won a couple of prizes and got to stand up the front and sing into a microphone. Of course she now wants a disco party for her 6th birthday , but that's ages away I'm sure she will have changed her mind about 10 times by then. We have a busy week ahead what with heaps of school stuff happening, and then my little binkey boo's birthday on Friday. Having lunch with family/friends on Saturday so should be fun, weather's supposed to be great on Friday and Saturday which is awesome. We're having a picnic at school with E on Friday for 'education week' and to farewell E's teacher who leaves on Friday (maternity leave) :crying: I feel so sad about her leaving, hope I don't cry. She has been a wonderful teacher/mentor to E and I know how much she will miss her.

Well, it's nearly 9pm and I'm totally stuffed so think I might have an early night! Goodnight

YAY! ooh and hopefully with the gromets, i don't know much about them, but hopefully he wont have to have them for too long.

IM: Thanks :) HA funny you say that, when my DP found out about my AF, his first words were 'oooh we can start making more babies'!!! i was verrry surprised at that reaction!
OOH lol at smokers cough... T has caught a cold too and has a cough, i feel so sorry for him when i hear him at night coughing away... and that is sad your DH wont be there for the first birthday, it's a mission to organise everything yourself! I hope it all goes well for you! :)

amanda: oooh you poor thing having to look after your DH and kidies too. I've been doing that this weekend with my DP too (although he just has MAN FLU - and a self induced big night on friday) and so all weekend i get no break... i hope he heals up soon!

Good morning all the May mummies!

Bel - how did the birthday party go? Cant wait to see the pics!

Happybunnypony - Oh man flu haha i hope you get a break soon :)

I want to see more birthday pics !! Im going to go order the balloons this weekend for his party the following weekend. Also ordering the number 1 shaped cake. Bakery is going to make me 1 chocolate cake un-iced for $20! I want to do the decorating, id do it all but my oven doesnt cook cakes evenly so would be a disaster. And 20 bucks is really good. Iv probably spent 30-40 dollars on decorating ingredients. Maybe less but alot cheaper than buying it decorated.

Hey Lovely May mummies, thanks so very much for the happy birthday messages for Cammy pants! He had a brilliant day everyone that was there was so amazed at how placid and endearing he was, i think there were a few people that wanted to take him home, it was funny. Josh was pretty well behaved, had a bit of an attitude in the morning and didn't want to go to "cameron's stupid party" but then got over it and had a good day and then "i don't want cameron's party to be closed" haha, funny little things they are!

Will share some piccies soon. :)

Melly - Jacob is so cute, looks like he had a great day!!

IM - Aww that's really sad that your DH won't be home for C's 1st birthday i hope you have a lovely day and get some great pics beforehand though. Thanks so much for your special message to Cam, it made me get a little teary. AND i managed to make a number 1 cake following the recipe from the book you gave me and it turned out well, my sister could not believe i made the cakes, she asked me like 5 times, did you really make that cake!? Haha! So thanks again, now i have many cakes to look forward to making after the first one turned out pretty good for my first attempt! lol Bad thing was i barely got any pics of them!! And most people left before we even had any cake, so now we will have cake for weeks! haha

Thank you so much Ladies for all the birthday wishes for London. She had a great day, of course was only intrested in her presents for 5 minutes and I think all the cake and cupckes made her sick but it was all worth it. Can't believe in a week or so all the babies will be past their first birthday. I'm glad to see all the other May babies have had fab birthdays so far, those imaginarium tables sound really coool, will have to investigate. Oh and gorgeous pics of Jacob and Tyler, they are both so adorable. :bee:

Melly - a friend of mine had to have grommits put in her daughters ears and it made a hell of a difference for her, lets hope it does the same for Jacob.

Hey everyone!

I have a very clever little boy. Luca had my phone yesterday and i went into the kitchen, he was in the loungeroom. Came running back out when my phone rang and it was my dad, Luca had called him and had a little chat  He was silent at first but than started gabbling away. Very clever but cheeky! Used my last $2 credit. Id had that for 2 weeks! I was just pranking my family and they called back, they have free phone calls to me. Guess i need to get some more now and keep Luca away from it!

Hello girls

Firstly i would like to say sorry for not being on here as much as i should to say happy birthday to all of the bubbas!!

happybirthday to Cam Pants, London, Jacob, Tyler, Nat, Sienna(bels) and whoever else i forgot im sooo sorry :o. I think i might have been up to date with the bubs before that????

IM -Im so sorry about your DH not being there for Charlottes birthday :hugs:. I know that as much as people say that they wont remember its really not the point! DF was meant to be going away on a boys weekend (its an annual thing) but H was just born at the wrong time for him so he has to miss out which he is pooped about... I know he would much prefer being away with his mates than being at a first birthday but i am not allowing it especially coz its leisure not work if you know what i mean.

Mel - Hope Em ends up with another good teacher! It sucks when things change especially because of how much she has helped Em. The dico party sounds good! I hope she doesnt change her mind it really sounds like its a great idea for a party!

Vee - Josh sounds sooo cute about Cams party lol do they get along well?

Melly - My younger brother had gromits when he was a baby too they really do the world of good without them the doc sid he would never of talked or even written properly as he wouldnt hear properly to do so and he is fine now. :hugs: i know at the moment it feels like its just one thing after another but he will get there!

AFM - It is locked in that we are going to start TTC # 2 in October :smiliedance: im very very excitd!
I have been hanging out with Kayla every now and then too we have fun together which is great and Jaylen is just sooooooo cute! Jaylen went in for an op yesterday so im still waiting to hear how he is.
All of the invites are finally sent thankgod lol i was soooo slack with them but really its still 3 weekends away anyway.
Today hunter as at daycare so im going to be packing more of our stuff away so this place can get demolished and start getting rebuilt, it is in the plans to be demolished the weekend after Hunters birthday then after that we are in MIL house for 3 months + until the new place is built! But im looking forward to that as it will be a 3 bedroom, seperate toilet bathroom, have a bath, be bigger YAY at the moment it is 8sq and its going to 11sq so still only small but a bit more liveable while we save. Our plans are to buy some land and start building probably the year after that and slowly do it, becasue we can be here for as long as we like all very very exciting! Once we leave here they will probably rent it out to a young family or something anyway so it will make them some money in the long run!
Well anyway better get to it otherwise i will have wasted the day as normal.
If i dont get on here before the next birthdays happybirthday to all the bubbas xx

For all of those that have now got 1 year olds, you have done the greatest job! Its not easy being a mummy especially not with the sleep deprivation that comes with having a baby, which can make everything seems so much worse.... so i would just like to say congratulations for surviving the first year :D.

Hi All I'm Back!!!

We had a fantastic trip away - very busy and lots of time with family. It was lovely. A couple of highlights was going to the Wiggles concert on the Goldcoast (have fun Bel!!) and even better for us was getting to meet them before the concert!! Because our Jess has a disability and is the worlds BIGGEST Wiggles fan we were able to meet them. They were fantastic with her, Murray in particular was really lovely and at the end of the concert when they were waving goodbye Jeff called out "Goodbye Jess" and looked right and her and waved. Little Eve had a ball, she kicked her legs and bopped away for the whole concert, she loves music, more than the older 2 did at the same age. Even when the news starts on the tv she stops what she's doing and has a little "dance" to the music - very cute!

Our other highlight was staying in Manly - our accommodation was upgraded so we had a HUGE 3 bedroom appartment with courtyard than looked over the beach. Very luxurious!!

Happy Birthday to all the May bubs and well done Mums too! I have only had a quick scan over the past months messages - will sit down later when I have some time to myself. Sounds like everyone has had a good birthday month.

Melly - I think you got the best present in Jacob sitting by himself. :yelclap: What a clever boy, how exciting for you!!!

Eve's b'day is Saturday week - we're having a family lunch for her which will be fun. I'm off to the shops today to buy her a pressie. Am hoping to find her a little trike. Have already got her a Fisher Price telephone and a couple of books plus a cute winter outfit so she'll be plenty spoilt!

Hope everyone is well! Anyone in wet Qld - hope you've avoided the floods?

happybirthday Jarvis!! I hope that you have a fabulous day today - going to the Wiggles, what could be more exciting?! And that your party on the weekend was full of lots of laughter and fun :D

Welcome home SS!! Sounds like you had a very busy but really wonderful trip! Nice to have you "back" - can't wait to catch up with you more when you get a chance.

Vee - sounds like Cammy pants had a fabulous day on the weekend. Looking forward to seeing some photos when they're up! And YAY for making the cake :smiliedance: Very proud of you! haha!!

How are all you Qld girls going? Dry? Okay? Survived the floods? Thinking of you girls, and hoping everyone's okay.

Thanks everyone for your :hugs: about DH not being here. I'm a little better about it now - I know it'll be just as hard for him not being here, so I'm trying not to make too big a deal out of it as I know he feels pretty low and upset. Hopefully we'll have a fabulous day on the weekend - her pressies from us are all wrapped up, so she can open them this weekend while her nan and pop are down, and then all the things she gets in the mail next week (if my family remember! lol) I'll leave for her to open on her actual birthday so we have something to do for her!

Meegzz - very exciting about TTC #2!!!

I have to go - I have the worst headache and am so dizzy and feel really faint, so need to lie down. I'm waiting for an electrician to turn up so hope he hurries up as both kids are sleeping and I really want to take advantage of it and sleep too!

Hi everyone else - back later to check in and catch up more.

I came downstairs after my sleep - thanks DH - and when Charlotte saw me she stood up in the middle of the room, waved to me, grinned, and then took a step all by herself! She stacked it, but stood up and took another one :goodvibes:

:DIM - We had stepping yesterday too!!!:D Our clever little pumpkins! My Gf came in the door yesterday and he took one step to her then she was playing with him and he took 4 steps back to me and then 4 steps back to her again! Hunter cant stand up by himself yet though he uses things to pull himself up... he nearly has it but just cant get it although he can stand there unaided if you stand him in the middle of the room One thing my little man has never been good with is balance though, he only just started sitting he was a side sitter but i guess now he has balance from cruising the furniture he just figured he could do it, funny little bugger!

Mel - Happy birthday to Lincoln again (i didnt think iwould get in here again today but proved myself wrong hope you have a lovely day together :hugs:

Just popping on really quickly as I'm off to a picnic at E's school and to farewell her teacher :hissy: but I just wanted to say thank you for Lincoln's birthday wishes. He's having a lovely day, not that he understands obviously what all the pressies & fuss was for this morning, but we're having fun with it (especially E as she helped L open, and play with, all his new toys this morning)! IM, you say the loveliest things :hugs:. I'll pop on later to do personals.

Hey everyone :) Took Luca to get weighed and everything yesterday. His 9.7 kg and 72cm long.

Have a question for you all. The lady at the clinic place said to get Luca onto a routine and to start only giving him 3 bottles a day, one directly after breakfast, 1 directly after lunch and 1 before bed. The problem is i just tryed that and he was full after breakfast and wouldnt have his bottle. So how is that meant to work?!

Has any one else heard of this and done it ? Hows it worked?

Bel1978
23-05-2009, 08:40
Jarvis doesnt have many more then 3... space out time between bottle and breakfast... not directly after wait a while... will call you about next week soon any way....

Had J's paed appointment.. he lost so much weight when he was sick.. his doc wasnt too worried as he had weight to lose..
11.5kg & 81.5cm

Just wondering if anyone has started there little ones on cows milk yet??

I dont know what to do Jacob isnt really interested in food besides his lunch and dinner, in between he wants a bottle..even when i try giving him food instead he just gets angry and starts crying.

I guess I shouldnt worry aslong as hes eating something and putting on weight

He got weighed and measured last week and hes now 9.8 kilos and 82cms.
I think hes going to be tall and skinny:yes:

SpottySocks

Melly - I give Eve cows milk, not a lot she is still BF and was never really interested in a bottle. She uses a straw type sipper cup really well and drinks about a cup of cows milk over the day. When she's at day care she drinks 2 cups (has no choice becasue I'm not around). As you say as long as he's continuing to gain weight and is healthy why worry!

Eve eats breakfast lunch and dinner with morning and afternoon tea as well - plus more if she had her way! She is a good eater, loves her fruit & yoghurt, weetbix disapear in seconds first thing in the morning. She discovered teddy bear biscuits when we were on holiday and LOVES them! She calls all food "na-na" as in banana, they are her favourite and if we are talking about them we call them "curved yellow fruit" because she goes nuts if we say the word! Even my 5 year old knows to call them curved yellow fruit. I give her a whole peeled apple and it keeps her quite for ages - she can eat nearly all of it (core too!).

I'll get her weighed next Friday - the day before her birthday. It'll be interesting to see how much she weighs but I don't think she's all that big compared to other bubs the same age. Surprises us because she eats so much!

M2L - can't help with the bottle thing but maybe give him a bottle for morning and afternoon tea and then one before bed instead of straight after eating? Eve is still BF'ing - she has 2 or 3 during the day, and then before she goes to bed and early in the morning (5am). It has been handy the past couple of weeks because her back teeth have been giving her lots of trouble and she was unsettled so a quick BF would get her back to sleep.

How are others going with teeth? Yesterday E's dribble had blood in it, it was coming from around the area where 1 molar has just poked through the gum. Poor little girl - it must really hurt, lucky we can't remember! My older 2 never really suffered with their teeth - just red cheeks and drooling and then the teeth appeared. Much easier than E who is quite grizzly and obviously uncomfortable.

Best go - K is asking me to come and watch her new trick on the tramp. Any b'day parties this weekend? If so have fun!

Hey we have been giving jarvis cows milk from 10 months, both his doctors agreed.... as M2L can confirm much easier with him at the shops.... I just go to woolworths and buy a 600ml milk around $1.40 and they both have half each i just heat it in the parents room... Formula can fill kids up too much i find and with the nappy issues we have poor little bub tore part of his bottom trying to fill his nappy he is ok now.....

SS- my friends bub had blood with her teeth too.... mine havent really jarvis has 8 teeth and i think maybe a couple more about to come through

Hello

Hunter is on 2 x cowsmilk bottles a day and 1 formula he has cow milk in the morning and arvo and then formula before bed... i started him with half cowsmilk half formula for 1 bottle for 1 day and the nthe next day gave him a full bottle of cows milk then the next day the 2.. i plan on getting him off the night formula too this week.

Hunter has 7 teeth, no molars just fronts

He is soooo sick at the moment hardly weating we have a doc apiintment at 12.. i think its a chest infection as he has a grandpa cough and is just sooo unhappy... i liet you know whow it goes xx

Meegz, Tyler is a bit like that lately too... although not a bad grandpa cough.

He seems to have a temp and has been really really quiet lately and just wanting to sleep! The sleep part is good, but it's just bizzare when bubs is so quiet and not interested in anything. He just wants to cuddle me and suck his thumb all day... i hope my little man is okay!

mel: thanks for birthday wishes! :) I went out on friday night with my DP for dinner, first time in aaages we have gone to dinner alone! The inlaws babysat, luckily T didn't wake for them! phew! I was worried he would freak out if Gran came in with a bottle, when he's just used to me and boob! haha

M2L congrats on the hows, hope everything goes smoothly for you... where is that suburb? Buying is soo exciting and scary at the same time! You will love your own place though, then you can do whatever you like to it! :)

SS: mmm T hasn't had teeth come down since new years! I was a bit worried... but i think he might be teething at the moment. he hasn't had blood yet, but a while back when his top ones were cutting through i remember seeing him after a nap and saw blood in his mouth and thought (i hoped) it was just from teeth.

Melly: We give T some cows milk with water... mostly around lunch time or if he seems antsy. And he gets a boob feed in the morning and night and if he wakes up.

I hope you're having a wonderful 1st birthday and being spoilt rotten. Congrats Joie on being a mummy for 1 whole year.

Lincoln's birthday went really well on Saturday ... had lunch with family/friends and L was a little champion, really was a great day and I'm so glad I didn't do it at home - I got to sit and eat a meal with my kids/hubby/family/friends, didn't have to rush around and make sure everyone had food, and it was a very happy, relaxed day!

L has 2 teeth coming through atm (he already has 5, 2 top ones and 3 bottom ones) so he's a bit grumpy, his nappies are feral and he has just started biting (especially my shoulder) again (ouch). He understands so much of what we say to him now and he's added nana (banana), bye and ba (bath) to his repetoir. Every night after dinner he crawls to the bathroom and just sits there waiting for his bath, way too cute :D

E now has a new teacher and so far so good. My DH is off to NZ in a few weeks time for 10 days and E is excited because on a couple of those nights she's coming to have a 'sleep over' in my room.

hbp, glad to hear that you had a good night out with hubby on your birthday and that T slept through.

m2L, I was giving L cows milk on cereal but we found out awhile ago that he's lactose intollerant so can't have any. He's not having any kind of dairy atm, which is worrying as he hasn't had any calcium (through dairy) for almost 2 months, but he'll be getting a suplement next time we go to the allergist, and he'll probably ask me to try introducing soy milk. Goodluck with the transfer, hope it goes smoothly.

amanda, amanda, where for art thou amanda? Haven't heard from you for ages, hope all is well and that DH's knee is healing nicely and that he's still behaving himself!

How did the in-laws visit go IM? Hope you had fun and enjoyed your time together. When does your hubby go away, and for how long?? What part of Canberra do you live in, I have a friend in Strahan (I think that's what it's called, can't be bothered walking down the other end of the house to look in my diary, LMAO)

I had an ultrasound this morning as I've had some irregular bleeding. Everything appeared normal, so god knows what's going on 'down there'. I think I'll return as a male in my next life

 to everyone else - RM, Vee, Bel, meegzz, SS, melly, cindye, pixie and all the others who don't come and chat with us much anymore :crying: . I must go - we are renovating our office atm and there is no plaster on 2 of the walls in here as they need to be insulate & re-plastered, and it's bludy freezing!

Toodles!

Good Morning Girls!

A big happybirthday to all that I've missed over the last week or so... very slack of me!

Really struggling at the moment... spent most of last wednesday with my head in the toilet bowl, couldn't even keep a sip of water down. Have hardly eaten since then - I think this baby will be made out of water crackers, lemonade ice blocks and powerade. On top of that, Bella has had major cabin fever from basically being at home for a week straight - she's being a big pain in the bottom. I guess it could also be a bit of toddler independence being asserted though...

Hope everyone has a great day...

ooh mel: Hope your feeling better 'down there' soon... doesn't sound too good... hope it's nothing serious.

cindy: sounds like you have been nasty sick! :( it's hard being bound to home so much. I find i need to get out of the house at least once every day, otherwise T and i both go stir crazy!!

M2L: Aww doing footprints and handprints sounds like a great idea!! post some birthday pics

Everyone else, post more birthday pics!!

T has seriously not been himself lately... really extra clingy and sooky and temps. I HOPE it's just teeth coming through... poor little guy. The last two nights have been painful, he's been screaming his head off and wont settle back in the cot, he just wants to sleep on me or next to me. I finally put him down for a nap this morning, can't believe he went down.

I'm taking him to the doctors this morning to have him looked at. I don't want him to get his vaccinations until he is 100% better. How has everyone else gone with the vaxxs?? Anyone had any dramas? Or holding off?

Gotta go clean up while he's down... bbl

Sienna's 2nd day of pre-school started badly but her teacher said she did really well in the end

It will take her quite awhile to adjust, I always used to hate leaving E because she would bawl her little eyes out and cling on to my leg :crying: hated it.

Really struggling at the moment... spent most of last wednesday with my head in the toilet bowl, couldn't even keep a sip of water down.

You poor love ... can't remember, but did you have bad ms with bella?? Dry ginger always worked for me (not that I really had much ms at all with either of my kids), and i've heard that ginger bickies are good too.

T has seriously not been himself lately... really extra clingy and sooky and temps. I HOPE it's just teeth coming through... poor little guy.

Sounds like teeth to me hbp and possibly some separation anxiety/just wants mummy phase. I remember E went through that when she was about 11 months. Hope it all goes well at the doctors, and then just enjoy the cuddles.

I'll take L to get his vacs next week.

Well I went clothes shopping for myself this morning and, as usual, left without anything for me but bought a new pink & grey tracksuit for E and a sleeping bag for L  I am hopeless!! I did, however, get to have a raspberry crush from Boost Juice all to myself, which is something that rarely happens these days as E tries to drink most of it (I usually buy a big one, and get them to divide it into 2 smaller cups so we both have our own cup).

I'm off to tidy up while L's asleep, the house honestly looks like a bomb has gone off!

I concur - Amanda where are you?!! Hope you and the kids are okay and hubby is recovering nicely.

The in-laws visit was really great Mel. Over much too quickly, but as the MIL said, better to have a short and sweet visit then a long one where they're hanging around like a bad smell! The kids had a ball with their nan and pop and loved the extra attention - especially little miss show off! We had a really lovely little party for her on Sunday, and it was great to be able to celebrate with them.

Hubby goes away Saturday morning, comes back next Sunday morning.....so I'm trying to be very brave, but I'm really not quite sure how I'm going to survive the next week by myself! I have to drop him off at the airport, so I know that'll be pretty messy :crying:

We're in Gungahlin too....newer kinda suburb type thing of Canberra!

Glad the ultrasound went well, but doesn't really give you any answers, either I suppose. Hope everything sorts itself out for you sooner rather than later.

I just saw L's birthday photos.....oh dearly me he is just delicious!!! Such a gorgeous boy :D

Oh Cindy :hugs: Being pregnant with a toddler is hard enough, let alone when you're throwing your guts up. I hope you get over the m/s soon (it is just m/s - it's nothing more serious?) and that Bella becomes her adorable self again quickly too!

Oh HBP....I reckon it could be teeth too - but probably worth taking him to the dr to get him checked out. Charlotte has been suuuuuper clingy today - but that is because she is stuffed, and needs to sleep better. Her day naps while we've had visitors have sucked, and she's been getting so over it by the end of the day all she wants is to be picked up and cuddled. Cute - but not very practical! I also agree with Mel that it could be a bit of seperation anxiety though. We haven't vaxed yet - she's not onoe until next week anyway, but I don't want to do it with hubby away, so I'll wait til he's back then get them done. Didn't have any problems with Isaac's 12 month vacs though, so I'm not too worried.

Bel - glad Sienna's second day was okay (after the start anyway!). How are you and J enjoying the time without her?

Meegzz - our bubbas are just the CLEVEREST starting to step on the same day! Clearly - they are meant to be together! lol!! How's H going - is he getting better?

Must run, Ellen is on and Isaac is yelling at me to come and watch it! lol! He loves that show! too funny!

Hello ladies!
Just popping in from the June 08 thread with a question - are any of your bubs just doing one afternoon sleep? Or are they still having 2 sleeps. Just asking cos my little girl has a morning sleep of about an hour, sometimes and hour and a half but wont sleep in the avo. And she isnt too grizzly either, only when it gets to about 5pm. What do you think, and how do you transition them to one?? Thanks gals!

IM - Well Hunter is still sick took him to the docs on Monday morning and he gave him some amoxycillin... he seems happier today but still sick i hate it and i know he must hate it even more poor little monkey.
H's stepping seems to have stopped with him being clingy and sick he does a few every now and then but he really isnt happy on the floor and needs mummy cuddles pretty much 100% of the day... lets just say the house looks like a bomb has gone off  but he is feeling bad so i dont mind too much. How is C's walking going???
Can you add me to facebook please????? its megan777726@hotmail.com or megan cullen

Mel - I have never had a raspberry crush so i better get one next time im at the shops hahaha sounds delish.

Bon bon - If she is only having one maybe try holding her off a bit so its after lunch so then she is inbetween??? It might make her last longer in the evening until bedtime? Hunter usually has 2 sleeps one in the morning and one in the arvo of about an hour each sometimes longer but sometimes only has one if he is held off for his nap until about 1 then he will sleep from 1 to 3 sometimes even 3.30.. it might help you?!

Awww poor Hunter. Hope he gets better soon. It's lovely when all they want is you - but it's so tiring as well - you just don't get a break :hugs: Hopefully he'll be back to his normal, cheeky happy self in no time at all - and you can get back to that fun, fun job - housework  I've sent you a friend request on FB too :D

Charlotte took nine steps all by herself tonight :smiliedance: She was sooooo pleased with herself too!! Such a clever chicken. Of course she did it while Daddy was at work, but she took three steps in a row when he came home, so he got to see how clever she is.

She's just into EVERYTHING at the moment though!! Now she's more confident she's pulling herself up on everything, opening every drawer in the house, and eating whatever she can find  She's driving me batty! lol! She's sooo cute though. She started saying "amen" on Friday - suuuuper cute! Nan and Pop were very impressed with that!!

Hi Girls

Feeling a bit better - actually ate some decent food yesterday! I'm actually wondering if I had a tummy bug or food poisoning since I was basically vomiting for just the one day. It's just taken my tummy a long time to get back to normal...

I had all day nausea with Bella but didn't vomit once so it's definitely different... I think DH hopes that means it's a boy...

Today was the first morning Bella didn't have a breastfeed. We were down to just the one morning feed and she woke late enough today to go straight to breakfast. Not sure how I'm feeling about it - in a way I'm sure it will give me a bit more energy (which I can certainly use at the moment!) but I know that I'm going to miss it... Actually won't be surprised if she demands it a bit later!

Anyway, have to get a few things organised. Hoping to get out of the house today!

Ciao!

Just a quick post - E is asleep and the house looks like it's been hit by a bomb! Have 40 minutes before I need to do the school run so really should get into it!

cindye - I must have been away when you announced your lovely news! congratulations! Hope the MS dissapers soon - so much harder when you have another bub to chase after.

Wow - sounds like there are a few bubs taking steps. E stands for a few seconds but no steps yet, she plays in the squatting position quite a lot which is very cute. How have all the parties been going? We are having E's on Sunday (her bday is Sat) so my Mum can be there - she's working on the Sat. Works out well, we can give her our presents on Saturday and have a little family party and play and then on the Sunday she'll have more presents from the family, nice to spread the birthday out over the whole weekend.

Bonbon - my E still has 2 sleeps a day one in the morning for around 1 1/2 to 2 hours and then mid afternoon she often has a shorted sleep for about an hour. There have been a few times where we have been busy or had friends around and she's missed her afternoon sleep. She doesn't get grizzly but I find I just need to get her fed & bathed earlier so she can have an early night. Maybe your little one is going to need the morning sleep more than the afternoon one, and then be in bed earlier at night. Sorry, not really helpful!!!

Megzz - hope Hunter is feeling better today. Poor little man! I have just heard that a friends 3 yo has whooping cough! Luckily she hasn't been in touch with my kids during the incubation period. A bit odd though, she took her kids to the Dr because they were both unwell and he sent them for bloodtests but didn't tell her what for. After a week the results come back that one of them has whooping cough - in the meantime sthe 3 yo was better so has been at daycare and around other kids - apparently while she was infectious!! And she has been fully vacinated. Poor mum is feeling very guilty that she may have passed it onto to other children, not really her fault though.

Okay have been her twice as long as I intended best go and do a quick tidy up!

Go Luca!!!!!
How exciting!

Well just a quick one, my baby has mild pnemonia and bronchilitis so we are not allowed outside and if he hasnt improved drastically by Monday then we have to book him in for a chest xray to see the extent of the damage :(. So glad i took him back to the doctor after all that, not very happy that the other doc mis diagnosed him but i guess you get that, i actually took him to he paeditrician yesterday so he did a full observation on him thank god! He said that he doesnt think he is a full astmatic just that he will be suseptible (SP?) to it when he is sick so now we have to be careful. Other than that he is happy and hopefully responds well to his new medicine, i think he is responding ok as he is coughing up stuff now which is what we want! Poor little mite i hate seeing him like this got him weighed and he has lost a little bit of weight :crying: he only weighs 8.5kg but the doc said not to worry as he might loose a bit more yet but he is happy, still eating and drinking so just to let it pass not to force feed him but to keep his fluids up.

Oh i am bugggered and its only 9am... ohwell better go and get this child breakfast hopefully he eats!

l Luffs you to EmsMum and Issacsmummy LOL

HI MAY MUMMIES!!

First of all a huge HAPPY BIRTHDAY :party:for Lincoln....am so soory to have missed celebrating this very very special birthday with you little man and I hope that Mummy and Em threw you the world’s best party!! And to you too Mr Luca – will have to go and add you to the whole baby list (do you have his birth stats so I can add them too?)

Melly – My brother is an ‘ex’ grommits as well – and it did amazing things for his speech....I can always remember (he was about 3 at the time) the fact that he rejected jelly and custard for breakfast (he had his tonsils and adenoids done at the same time) in favour of weetbix LOL. And I’m a bit of a believer of giving them what they want food timing/amount wise...If he wants milk at this stage I wouldn’t deny him (and yeah, we're on cows milk)

Emsmum – parents like you (well and their children) are the reason I HATED having to tell my classes that I was pregnant and would be off work. Really hope that Em’s new teacher inspires and challenges them as much at the old one (and I’m sure she’ll be back to visit and then you’ll get Em asking for another baby LOL)

Kayla – Hope J’s op went well

M2L- LOVE the av..very angelic looking little man there!

SS – sounds like you had a ball – though good to have you back too! Glad Jess was made to feel extra special ...we’re hoping to take C to Seaworld for her birthday – am sure she’ll have a ball (though I love all of the big rides, so will feel a bit contained to not be able to do them because of kidlets (as if it’s all about me anyway LOL). And I know it’s a week late about all of the rain... We were fine (if not damp) at home, but ended up with a ‘water feature wall’ in our staffroom where the newly installed air conditioner wasn’t sealed in (idiots!!) and made worse by the fact that on the Tuesday there was no one at school because of the strike, so 48 hrs of torrential rain made A LOT of mess!!
And – I’m an idiot! – M loves whole apples too (rather than cut into chunks like C’s preference)...he gags on the skin, but I never thought to peel it whole *doh*. M’s a worse teether than C was too – he doesn’t get the red cheeks (though OMG the dribble – just went to target yesterday and got a big packet of the super cheap plastic backed bibs (ugly but functional) because he is easily saturating at least 5 bibs (and therefore T shirts) a day! 2nd molar is soooo there, so hope it pops through today for a bit of relief for him

IM – YAY for stepping! Is this much earlier than I did? C and M started at about the same time (as in crawling/pulling up/cruising/climbing) but M beat C to walking by 5 months....though C was SUCH a fast crawler that it probably seemed like a better option (unlike M who just wants to do EVERYTHING his big sister does!)...and we have the opposite – M is the super door shutter – takes unpacking the dishwasher twice as long because he shuts the door whenever you go back to it, and when you’re at the cupboard he rolls the drawer in and shuts the dishwasher up – cheeky!

And YAY for stepping for Hunter too Meegz! But lots of hugs your way today while he’s so sick – hope that he keeps getting it all up and recovers as soon as possible *hugs*

HPB – A belated HAPPY BIRTHDAY to you too – hope you were spoilt to death!! And oh a night out – YAY. Vax’s were fine with us – no issues at all..and M’s been a little the same way – it’s actually a bit lovely on my work days when I go to pick him up and he sprints across the room at me ...makes me feel very wanted (but apparently he doesn’t pine all day – I hope that’s the truth lol). He also backs up to you to plonk himself down on your lap if you’re sitting on the floor which is very cute

And for us – just super super busy hence the fact that I haven’t been around (boring everyone to tears :-P)

DH’s specialist appointment went well last week – bandages are all off and he’s allowed up on it a bit more (but still needs at least one crutch for walking) When the bandaging and splint first came off it looked like he had a softball sewn under the skin, but the swelling has decreased. He’s definitely off work for at least another 6 weeks and the specialist will go from there.

And week from hell (otherwise known as musical week LOL)....We’ve had 2 shows and a technical rehearsal so far this week and another 2 shows to go...so not much sleep happening this week  It’s going really well and the kids are having a ball through, so that’s all that is important...can’t say though that I’m not going to be glad once tomorrow night is over though!! Also threw myself in the deep end and had a SOSE excursion Tuesday out to the wetlands – had a good time though and no injuries (despite the fact that I was naughty and let them climb trees!) Holidays can’t come soon enough (a bit jealous...in a very odd way....DH’s school has a student with suspected swine flu (bro got back from OS last week))...if that’s the case, they’re going to shut the school for a week...why can’t it be one of our kids *stamps feet* – not that I wish it on anyone, but man I could do with an enforced holiday *laughing*

M’s latest trick is when you say ‘okay off to bed’ or say ‘good night to Daddy/whoever’ is to wave and then blow a kiss (back of the hand to mouth and then pulls is away with a ‘bah’ – it’s definite heart melter!

Okay – sorry for the HUGE catch up – won’t be MIA for so long I promise!

Hope that you have a fabulous birthday today and that your mummy, daddy and sisters shower you with lots of kisses and cuddles (and of course lots of presents to open!). Have a wonderful day today, and have a fabulous time at your party tomorrow too.

Congratulations SS on the anniversary of bringing your third gorgeous girl into the world! May she continue to bring you lots of joy, love and laughter in the years to come :goodvibes:

Welcome home Cass! Sounds like you had a great time away and Nat was super spoilt :D

Meegzz - how's Hunter today? Did he manage to eat any breakfast yesterday? Poor little guy, he really is sick, hey? Glad you trusted your instincts and took him for a 2nd opinion though. I really hope he picks up for you soon and you get to have a bit of a break, it's hard for mummy too when the little ones are sick :hugs:

Amanda, Amanda you're still here!! Will catch up and reply to your post more later. Dropped DH off at the airport this morning, so am on a mission to stay busy and pre-occupied so I don't mope and wallow in self pity for the next few days! lol! Will no doubt have lots of time to myself tonight though, so will check back in on everyone.

It's sad when that's a high point hey Pixie

First of al :flowerz:HAPPY BIRTHDAY :flowerz: for yesterday Evie - I'm sure you were the bell of the ball and that K and J loved spending the day with you (oh and you and your DH SS )....if you believe in date characteristics etc, Evie will turn out to be one of the eahasiest going, happy go lucky sorts of people (it's my brothers birthday too)

(and if I believed in the date having an impact, I'm getting ready to give M away now - 2 teachers at school including my teaching partner share his birthday - and OMG talk about hard arses who need to reminded that they're dealing with children!!!)

Cassie - welcome back!! Why does being home feel different...in a good or bad way? I'm guessing it might feel a bit lonely after all of the family company in SL

Meegz - hope Hunter is on the mend!!

IM - yes still here...as I said, was just super busy. We had our last show last night so fingers crossed everything can go back to normal (including me having a chance to rectify my bomb site of a house...must have been the week for it reading back through all of the posts) Went well, though got a call at midnight (we were still there packing down...well having a celebratory champers then) and M was awake and screaming and wouldn't settle....and then didn't all night *yawn*....DH is back in bed now and I've bags the afternoon sleep  Hope it's just teeth and they come through REEEEAAAAALLLLLL soon! Hope you've got plenty to do to keep you busy!

Am just a touch jealous at all of the preggos and TTC (more so with those going back for #3) ...not that I can conceive any of it while M's STILL not sleeping through and very aware that DH is a definite no, but still a little wistful......(or just crazy:laughing:)

Hi everyone. You have all been talking lots! Luca's party went great yesterday. He was such a good boy and i think he really enjoyed himself. He got lots of toys, very spoilt. He fell asleep just before we were going to cut the cake so we had to wait hours, lots of guests had to leave in that time, but meant more cake for us :p We played a game or two with the adults, was very fun. I was absolutely exhausted when the day was over! Luca loved the chocolate cake too! ate it very carefully until my sister wripped a big bit off his bit of cake and gave it to him, than it got messy. He was just the best little guy!

Amandaw - im a touch jealous of all the pregnant ones in here too but until Luca is sleeping well in his own bed and DH agrees its not happening in my house either!

Cassie - Welcome home :)

Firstly, happybirthdayto Luca & Evie. Sorry I wasn't able to pop online on the day of their birthdays. Sounds like Luca had a lovely day (and I hope you did too m2L) - I loved the photos, you did a great job with the cake; and I'm sure Evie had a wonderful day too.

Also, welcome back Cass ... sounds like you had a wonderful holiday and I know what you mean about things feeling different. It will take you awhile to settle back into things. I remember when I returned from Fiji, after our wedding/honeymoon, I felt SO sad, and even after a recent trip to see family in Sydney took me awhile to 'get back to normal'. Glad you had fun, and I'm sure the kids enjoyed the huge family environment.

Emsmum – parents like you (well and their children) are the reason I HATED having to tell my classes that I was pregnant and would be off work. My son has been SO naughty today, getting into SO much mischief and my DH has the worst cold (worse than anyone else could ever imagine, LOL) so has done absolutely nothing around the place today and I've had heaps of fun (NOT). I'm tired of saying 'Lincoln, NO'. Will whinge more and reply to the above quotes from amanda (thanks for L's birthday wishes btw :hugs:) and Pixie once the kids are in bed tonight, just wanted to make a start on this because I've been trying to post for days. Lovely photos m2l!! Luca's such a little cutie :D Thanks for sharing.

How'd your afternoon nap go Amanda?! I'm super jealous!! My two had me up ALLLLL night last night - I am stuffed. 7pm and I'm considering calling it a night already! lol! Poor little M. Hope he has a better night tonight for you and that if it is teeth they come through soon. I so hear you with the TTCing to......so tempted to go for another.....but today I am ready to give both of mine away, so probably shouldn't add another one to the mix  M's blowing kisses trick is a little bit too cute! What a little charmer!

Pixie, so are you not still breastfeeding J? He sounds delightful!! How's your neck?! All better?

Oh Mel - it must be the day for naughty boys. Isaac has driven me absolutely insane today and I am seriously considering taking him to the airport tomorrow and putting him on a plane to be with his daddy :hair: A major part of his lack of good behaviour is the fact he had a sh!t night last night - waking up sooo often AND he didn't sleep properly today after lunch. I also know it's due to the fact that his daddy is gone and he's got some anxiety issues, but even knowing that I'm fed up and over it. He's been in bed for the last hour screaming and crying.....GO......TO......SLEEEP......:hair::hair : His carrying on, of course, wakes up Charlotte, so I'm soooooo impressed with him right now!! Hope Linc is much better behaved tomorrow and that hubby is feeling better too - though the man cold does tend to hang around for a while and really takes it out of you!

HBP - how's the cat?! lol! T sounds hilarious!!

I have a shocking headache. And I am sooo over it. But I want to watch masterchef, so need to suck it up for another half an hour until it comes on! I so hope tomorrow is a better day than today, because I don't think I can survive another week otherwise. I think we'll have to venture out to the park tomorrow, even if it's cold, and wear them out! And head into the shops to pick up a couple of things to make the cake for Charlotte's party this week. Isaac and I are yet to reach a decision on which cake to make her! lol! We've narrowed it down to three cakes so maybe we'll show Char tomorrow and see which one SHE likes best =)

Oh random question - has everyone turned their bubs around to be front facing?? Charlotte is still so small (weight wise) that she's rear facing, and while I know she'd love, love, love for us to turn her around, I'm still really reluctant to do it yet.

IM, you sound like you're having a tough day. So sorry to hear it - days like that are just so hard.:hugs:

In answer to your question, yes we have turned S around. She is fine that way - I don't actually know how much she weighs (haven't had her weighed in months) but she's normally around the 75th percentile so ... whatever that is.:o

It's Ry's birthday this week so I had to make 2 cakes last weekend - a Dolly Varden Princess Ice Cream cake for S and a 'Sheriff's Cake' for Ry. Of course neither of them ate any of their cakes:rolleyes:....lucky Ry has two more chances. I have to make cakes for his class this week and then another for his party with friends in two weeks.

Congratulations Pixie - I didn't realise you were recently married! I hope it was a fantastic day :-)

Well S is teething. She has had 8 teeth since she was 6 months old (she got them pretty much at the same time) and today I realised the poor little thing is teething TEN teeth at the same time! They are all budding and starting to erupt - the poor little thing. She is in bed - all rosy cheeks, a low grade fever and lots of dribbles. Will see how she goes tonight - poor thing.

Happy birthday to all those May/June bubbas that I missed!

OK, I'm back and both children are well and truly asleep, thank goodness!

Amanda, I can totally understand that teacher's must be reluctant about announcing pregnancies. I think for me, as a parent, I found it really disappointing because I really, really, really liked this teacher and was so happy at the thought of her teaching my child. I think, in hindsight, they should have replaced the pregnant teacher at the beginning of the year (she did ask the principal if she thought that was the best thing to do, and the principal said 'no') so that our kids weren't disrupted in a very important year for them, but at the same time I'm happy that she nurtured them for 4 months, and the replacement teacher is lovely so I think they will be fine. I think we tend to forget that teachers are people with their own lives too.

Also, I hear ya about being jealous of preggies and TTCers. The thought of having anymore went flying out the window at rapid speed this afternoon after the day from he!!, but prior to that I was thinking it would be nice to have another (although if I had 3, I'd want 4 as I don't like odd numbers LOL) and my bf has just found out that she's expecting her 3rd. I'm very happy for her and didn't get that 'aching feeling' that I'd get when people announced their pregnancies prior to conceiving L, but still can't help but think it would be nice. However, DH is going for the big 'V' when he gets back from NZ so there won't be anymore bubbies for us :(. You always want what you don't have, but I'm already so lucky to have what I do have so I can't complain!!

Pixie, congrats on your marriage. Would love to hear more about it. Where'd you go? Were the kids involved? Come on lovey, give us all the details!

I have a shocking headache. And I am sooo over it.

Sorry to hear that you're not feeling well IM, and that I has been a little terror. Hopefully you all get a good nights sleep tonight and are feeling better in the morning. Enjoy deciding what cake to get C, I'm sure she won't mind making a meal out of whatever you give her. Is she a sweet tooth?? Both my kids love their sweet stuff (not that L's had much yet, but whenever he gets something 'naughty' he loves it). Oh, and yes we turned L around a few months ago, he loves it - thinks he's such a big boy now and enjoys being able to see lots more things.

It's Ry's birthday this week

Well S is teething. She has had 8 teeth since she was 6 months old (she got them pretty much at the same time) and today I realised the poor little thing is teething TEN teeth at the same time!

happybirthdayRy, hope you have a wonderful birthday. You're such a great mummy RM, going to all this trouble and making so many cakes.

Poor little S, 10 teeth all at once  that's just cruel. I hope they all break through nice and quickly for her so that she's not in pain for long.

Well, as I mentioned earlier L has been so naughty today. We live in an older style house, which we are in the process of renovating, and as a result some of the doors have become loose and now are easy to open, just with a push. So, L does this about 238 times a day. He is forever crawling down the hallway and finding mischief, whether it be with my jewellery/alarm clock/photo frames in the bedroom, paperwork/small step ladder/cords in the office, toys/opening the shower door and crawling across the wet floor/pulling things off benches in the bathroom, destroying his sisters room (I can no longer just shut the door and leave stuff everywhere in the rooms that he can't get into, because now he can get into every room - so on my 'list of things to do' is to put everything away in all the bedrooms/office); climbing up on E's couch to get on top of the coffee table, nearly putting his hand in the griller tonight (while I was cooking food in there), pulling all my neatly folded clean washing off the table onto the ground, playing with the bin, trying to eat kitty litter. The list goes on and on ... and that's just what he got up to today  little turd  lucky for him he's so adorable and, when I look at him and am about to tell him off, he giggles his little head off and all is forgotten (jeez, I'm a pushover). It's just so frustrating when I have so many things I want/need to do, but get about 1 minute into something and have to go and remove L from doing something he shouldn't be doing, 238 times a day LOL!

Anyhoo, vent over. We have a busy week ahead. Assembly tomorrow morning and then a quick visit to kmart to get some photos printed, invoices/office work/tidy up/washing (what joy) in the arvo; tuesday L gets his vaccinations; wednesday catching up with friends; thursday L has an appt with the nutritionist/allergist and friday we take DH to the airport. Busy, busy - no rest for the wicked.

So, on that note, I might hit the sack and get some much needed beauty sleep.

Take care, hi to everyone I missed.

Got to go, T is harrasing the cat with a screwdriver! Oh dear!

I'm sorry HPB but ROF:laughing: (hope the cat came out of it unscathed) M is deadly with anything he picks up too - god help us when he gets a hold of DH's Guitar Hero drum sticks cause he has damn good aim!!

M2L - great photos - ballons, cakes and party hat (impressed that it managed to stay on long enough to get a photo...M will wear a hat at day care but not for me????) - all that a 1yo needs

My son has been SO naughty today, so has done absolutely nothing around the place today and I've had heaps of fun (NOT). I'm tired of saying 'Lincoln, NO'

.....but today I am ready to give both of mine away, so probably shouldn't add another one to the mix  M's blowing kisses trick is a little bit too cute! What a little charmer!
but even knowing that I'm fed up and over it. I so hope tomorrow is a better day than today, because I don't think I can survive another week otherwise.

I could have written those posts today (other than the fact that I did get an hours sleep so am feeling a touch better about it...just wish DH would put his cranky pants away too because he doesn't help the issue! - especially with C) - so big BIG :hugs: to both of you. I hope that a decent nights sleep is heading both of your ways so that tomorrow is a new day (well it will be anyway, but hopefully a much different one!)

And the kissing is soooo cute - have to charge the video camera so that I can capture it

We have turned M around too - not because I was in a hurry but DH did it one day and din't want to listen to me about why it was better to stay rear facing longer. M does love it and I couldn't imagine him being happy backwards now (not that it's all about their 'happiness'

:wave:RM - lucky you enjoy the cake making!! So did the sheriff meet the standards of your pinata one from last year??

[B][I]Amanda, I can totally understand that teacher's must be reluctant about announcing pregnancies.

I guess the principal must have believed that 4 months with the old teacher was amazing start to schooling for your little ones - hopefull she comes back in for the year 1's next year and Em pick her up again cause she sounds like a goodie!

I had tears both times that I announced I was pg (from me and the kids)...I guess for me with the older students (and ones who I'd taught for so many years) there was a huge amount of personal attachment feeding into it all too. Both times there was that initial minute of yay - wohoo that's so exciting - and then somone would kick in with....but that means that you'll be leaving us...and then the waterworks! But for me working with older (mostly) girls - I think they really enjoyed 'experiencing' it with me and I still get lots of requests for updates and piccies...while I 'regret' the timing of C's birth (just 4 months later would have meant that I got to see 5 years out with my best bunch of kids) it was just part of life and no one really suffered (just me with the terrible guilts)...and I got soooooo super spoilt by them lol

The thought of having anymore went flying out the window at rapid speed this afternoon after the day from he!!, but prior to that I was thinking it would be nice to have another (although if I had 3, I'd want 4 as I don't like odd numbers LOL)
 totally associate with that! Dh saw my earlier post and said WHAT ARE YOU THINKING!!!!! And I'm like you - it's always been 2 or 4 and while DH might be (on a very good day) willing to negotiate to 3, he definitely doesn't want 4, so we have that as a sticking point....he's talking the big V too - but that just seems so final...and he's such a wuss that I'm just not going to do anything about it and see how long it takes for him to actually go ahead and do it :p

And talking 'cake' - M will guts anything, but C 'thinks' she loves cake, but only ever eats the icing off it - dowsn't do cakes/scones/ cupcakes anything which I just think is so odd!

And I do commiserate with all of that...especially the freshly folded washing (soooooooo frustrating isn't it!)...I guess be thankful that E's a bit older (and tidier) rather than being like C and adding to malay! Sounds like it's one of those days that you just would love to hand him over for a few hours so you can just get a few things done to make life easier in the long run...that's why I do value my 3 hrs on my half day (well now that musical's over so I actually will leave early) that the kids are still at FDC - just to give me time to do a few things to make life easier when they do get home! Some very big :hugs: - he, Cam and M sound like Master destructors!!!!!

Hope you get a great nights sleep :hugs:

Hi All

So sorry for being so slack, haven't caught up for ages!! Still don't have much time as i have to take my bro back home as he was in charge of the kiddies today while i did my exam. Had an assignment due the day after Cam's naming day and pretty much rushed a 2000 word assignment that night and the next day, was crazyness! Then had an exam last friday and an exam today. All finished now, so should have time to catch up.

Can't believe our little ones are getting up to mischeif already hey! lol They are so cute.

And just quickly to Amanda and Mel, i am feeling the same, so clucky but won't go for 3, it's either 2 or 4 here aswell, i really wouldn't mind a girl but 4 boys! haha That could be in the equation if we go again. Who knows not thinking about it till next year again anyways and will reasess.

Gosh i sympathise with those who are having lack of sleep, it sucks hey, we are all over the shop here, Josh fell asleep yesterday at about 5pm, missed dinner, then woke a few hours later and he stayed up with my brother till 6am in the morning watching spongbob squarepants, i was so annoyed! But my bro is a pushover and didn't want to tell him to get to bed and have a big argument, so he just let him stay up!! :o Who knows when he'll sleep tonight!

Anywho, will try and get on a bit more through the week and catch up on the personals. :) Been thinking of you ladies. :)

:wave:Vee, nice to hear from you! I have a hard enough time thinking about what's happening tomorrow, let along studying for tests and doing exams what with all the normal run of the mill stuff going on at home. I think you're fabulous for doing what you're doing

happybirthdayKyra, hope you're having a lovely 1st birthday.

Amanda, yes the principal thought we would all be better off having 4 months with the teacher than nothing at all. The kids will adapt, they're resilient, I think it's the parents who are more upset about it all and finding it hard to cope with change :)

IM, how you coping as a single mother?? Hope the children are being perfect little angels for you and not stressing you out too much. Did you decide on a cake for C??

L had his 1 year immunisations today ... he was such a champion, not a whimper out of him. However, he didn't sleep much today and was so overtired and grumpy tonight the he just laid on the floor and cried that really, really unhappy/I am completely over it cry - you know the one I mean?? So I gave him some panadol and hopefully he sleeps all night. E also hurt her arm at school today (but she was adamant that it wasn't too sore for gymnastics) and then, of course, it was hurting even more after gymnastics so she was sore, grumpy and tired too and daddy is working late tonight so it's been a fun evening  Both kiddies are in bed now, and I don't think I'll be far behind. It's been a very busy couple of days and I'm hoping that the slightly sore throat I have has gone by the morning and hasn't turned into a very angry, red sore throat.

Goodnight all!

emsmum72 - awww good that he was a champion through them, brave little guy.

Luca had his immunisations yesterday too and im sure it would of went a whole lot smoother if i didnt have to wake him up before hand. He was screaming before they touched him, obviously not understanding why he was woken up and not happy at all. Than he had to be held still by DH, got his needles, walked out of the room and all the crying stops! Gave him some panadol when we got home and he seems just fine, not grumpy or upset.

happybirthday Charlotte!

And happybirthday to all the May babies!

Sorry I've been just way too busy to post on here. Wow can't believe they're 1 now. We can't afford to really do anything for Rory's birthday today, but we went out and got her a little wiggles ride on toy, hopefully to encourage to to start walking a little. She's not far off now. I'll go down and get a cake later and hopefully upload some photo's since I know its been ages since I've added any.

I'm sure I've missed heaps...must catch up with you girls soon. I'm on holidays in a couple of weeks and hopefully wont be too busy with homework. Both the girls are doing well, I'm doing great at school getting really good marks, mostly distinctions and I'm loving it. I make the rest of the class look bad :D

Ok will try and catch up later.

Happy birthing day PJ!! Can you believe one whole year ago today you birthed your beautiful daughter into this world at home? I hope that Rory has brought you as much love, joy and happiness this past year that Charlotte has brought to me, and I hope that she continues to brighten up your world :D

happybirthdayCHARLOTTE ... hope you had a wonderful 1st birthday today. I'm sorry I didn't get on sooner to wish you a fabulous day, but I've been very busy. I hope you looked after your mummy and gave her lots of hugs because she's probably feeling a bit sad because your daddy wasn't there. Did you get lots of lovely presents and enjoy the day with mummy and Isaac? How was your cake!

:hugs: to you IM, how has the day been? Hope you enjoyed your precious little girls 1st birthday even though DH wasn't home. The good thing, I guess, is that it was her 1st birthday and she's not going to remember that daddy wasn't there, and at least you got to celebrate with him and other family last weekend. Hope you all had a lovely day!

Also, great to hear from you PJ. You do sound happy, proud of yourself and busy so that's wonderful. happybirthdayto Aurora, I hope she had a wonderful birthday today.

Bel, everyone is back to their cheerful selves today, thanks :) I've got a cold, but I'm tough :D

m2L, I'm sure that L would have been great with his needles had he not just been woken up ... sounds like he had no dramas with it all later on, so that's awesome! What brave little bubbies we have, lol

Well, I had a busy today today working at home, helping DH to finalise all his stuff before he goes to NZ, and helping at school with a few things. Am absolutely knackered now, so might head off to bed soon as we have another busy day planned tomorrow - drs appt, visit a friend and pick up a photo frame that we've had inscribed (caligraphy) for DH's parents who will be celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary on Saturday night in NZ. Have a good night!

Darn it, darn it darn it - I have to do more belated birthday (sorry)

A very big HAPPY BIRTHDAY to all of the beautiful girls girls Kyra, Aurora and Charlotte :cloud9: I'm sure you were all spoilt to death with attention and hope that you all had wonderful days

IM - hope that the kids were both wonderful for you and that you did get lots of cuddles...and just think, you have plenty to hold over DH now for birthdays of the future *insert evil laugh here*

 OMG, I would have killed him@! Hopefully he went to bed at a decent hour last night.

I TOTALLY agree here!!!

Bel - gosh your 2 are like two peas in a pod aren't they!!! M's like Jarvis (rather than Luca) in the hair stakes...everyone keeps asking if we've given him a haircut, but I think he just keeps rubbing it off in his sleep!

You sound so busy, but you also sound so happy! It is so great to hear.

Totally agree on this too!!!

Me - have 5 days off now (with the long weekend)...though Dh is wondering whether or not offering double to the FDCer will encourage her to take M anyway ;) He has been a right little shocker this week - has turned to screaming (and I mean screaming) when he doesn't get his own way....3 molars are SOOOOOO close and the ear tugging is violent, so I'm really hoping that once they come through we get our even tempered little boy back!!

And in the TMI stakes (but also happy mummy) C did her first pooh in the toilet last night :smiliedance: cross fingers it wasn't just a fluke (the ears from her chocolate bunny we've been holding out since easterand some new felt pens will hopefully help that :p)

Off to clean up - be back later

 Everyone! Hope all the birthday kids have had a good month.

Thankyou all for the lovely birthday wishes for Evie. We all had a great weekend, Saturday was a nice family day at home followed by a hectic but good fun lunch for her on the Sunday.

I had her weighed the day before her birthday and she was 9.8 kilos and 76cm long. Funny that being such a big bubba to start with (10lbs 5 oz!!!) she's about average now.

We gave her a Fisher Price ride on circus train (see pics below!) which she absolutely loves. It came with 4 little people animals and a ring-master and she spends all her time sticking them inside the lift up seat and then taking them out again. Also surprises us when she just appears in a room pushing it - so used to her funny crab crawl that its odd seing her standing!! Also gave her a fisher price telephone - she got that because I brought it at Christmas time but it got forgotten in the back of the cupboard!

Lots of lovely presents from the rellies - although a few gave her some money (which I'll put in her bank account) because they said being the 3rd girl they didn't know what to get her. Which is a fair call because our house is like a toyshop!

Those of you who said it was either 2 bubs or 4 - 3 is a good number too!! We won't be going back for a 4th, maybe if E had been born a couple of years ago we would but not now. Too late anyway because DH has had the snip! Also 3 will fit in a regular car - if you have 4 then you'd need to upgrade to a van!

Cassie - welcome back, hope you are settling back into normality. Sounds like you had a fantastic time.

Emsmum - have to laugh about your naughty little boy! E sounds like she would have fun with him! At the moment my baby wipes are in a plastic bag because she had fun pulling them all out of the pack - a bulk pack of 240 with only a handful used!!!

She'd be getting into more trouble if we didn't have 1/2 the house blocked off. The bedrooms and bathroom come off the same hallyway with the living areas at the end so we can put a childproof gate across and stop her from getting in. I would find it really hard to make K's bedroom babyproof - she has so many little "treasures" (read junk!!) that I'm not allowed throw out!

Im - hope things are settling down for you and you are getting on ok by yourself. Am sure C had a lovely b'day yesterday and at least you got to have a celebration with Dh before he went away. About the carseat - we turned E around about a month ago. It's funny when J was a baby 7 1/2 years ago the recommended age was 6 months or 8 kilos whichever came first, as soon as she turned 6 months I couldn't wait to turn her around. Now they recommend leaving them for as long as possible and so E was rear facing until she was 11 months.

RM - how's the teething going. E has been suffering with hers for the past month. The molars seem to take so much longer than the front ones. She was even drooling blood a week or so ago - looked like a little vampire. I have been popping the Hyland Teething Tablets into her, I think they help?!

V8 - PHEW, you have been busy! Sounds like you deserve a medal, I really admire mums who can study. I am hopeless and would always be finding something else to do. Hope you've managed to get Josh back into sleeping at night after his allnighter! How was Cam's naming day/b'day celebrations (or did I miss that post)?

M2L - very cute birthday photo's! He is such a little boy now, so much hair! He doesn't look like a baby anymore. Maybe once you're all settled in your new house your DH might be persuaded to try for another :fingerscrossed:

PJ - welcome back, good to hear you are doing so well with you studies and your 2 little girls are doing well.

Amanda - :smiliedance: for C doing a poo in the toilet!! Very exciting. How old is she?

Bel - your 2 are a pair of cuties - love the one of S in her hat, does it stay on for long? Ha, ha just realised J is sitting DH's shoulders - I can just see his head!

Anyone heard from Kayla? Just wondering how J's op went? If you're reading this Kayla - hope all went well.

Hope I've covered everyone! to anyone I've missed. Are there anymore late May birthdays to go?

Phew!! I think I'm done - didn't expect to write this much, not often I get this long uninterrupted!

I saw it, I saw it :p Am just trying to think back now and remember which of your girls is a spitting image?? (there's one in particular if I remember rightly...which I may not )

Which is a fair call because our house is like a toyshop!

Also 3 will fit in a regular car - if you have 4 then you'd need to upgrade to a van!

I understand the toyshop call - as V can attest, ours does too (and we've literally brought about 6 things in it) - am looking foward to when the 'formal lounge' area has enough room for a lounge in it :o

That's part of my DH's arguement about 4 kids too - bigger car, bigger house etc

One trick I've learnt with some of the stuff that comes home from FDC is to take photos of it and stick them somewhere she can see. I am more than happy to keep things that i can tell that she's actually made (and smaller things) but the robot made out of about 40 different boxes didn't have to stay for longer than a week :p A photo means that we have a record without having to actually have 'it'...and C's 3 in August, so nearly 33 months...how on earth did that happen!!!! Been wee tarined (during the day) since Feb but have been waiting for the elusive other

And just one more birthday tomorrow

Anyway, off to do some more work

In answer to your question, yes we have turned S around. She is fine that way - I don't actually know how much she weighs (haven't had her weighed in months) but she's normally around the 75th percentile so ... whatever that is.

It's Ry's birthday this week so I had to make 2 cakes last weekend - a Dolly Varden Princess Ice Cream cake for S and a 'Sheriff's Cake' for Ry. Of course neither of them ate any of their cakes....lucky Ry has two more chances. I have to make cakes for his class this week and then another for his party with friends in two weeks.

Oh RM - poor S! How is she doing now?? Hope the teeth are giving her a bit of a break and her fever has subsided. Happy birthday to Ry for this week too! Hope that he had a fabulous day. You're such a clever chicken all of the cakes you make for your kids. Though they don't appreciate it yet - they will in the not too distant future!!

Have you captured the kissing yet Amanda?!! I want to see!!

DH is like your DH, he would switch Charlotte around to forward facing in an instant given the chance, but I've gone on and on and on about how she's safer rear facing, blah, blah, blah, and obviously he's taken it to hand, because when putting the car seat back in the other weekend he put it back in rear facing. I know she's just dying to be forward facing so that she can see what's going on - but I just want her to be safe, poor little chicken! She's fine as long as she has a book or a toy or Isaac to entertain her though, so she'll have to lump it for a bit longer! lol!

Oh Mel - I had to laugh at this. It's not funny at all - Lincoln you're a little devil in disguise!! But I sooo understand where you are coming from, and it's so "nice" for want of a better word that I'm not the only one with a devil disguised as a gorgeous baby as my child!!!

happybirthdayCHARLOTTE ... hope you had a wonderful 1st birthday today.

Awww thanks gorgeous Mel! What a super message! Charlotte had a super day and gave me lots of cuddles AND kisses which was fabulous. She even got to speak to daddy on the phone which she thought was the bees knees!! She slept in a bit which was super, I made the kids berry pancakes for breakfast, which they thought was super! Then she discovered the loungeroom that was full of balloons and toys and blocks and had a ball. I took the kids out to lunch, so they thought that was a bit special, and then because there was a lolly shop accross the road from the cafe we had lunch at, we had to venture in there too!! The postie came while we were out to lunch, so there was presents to open when we got home which was very exciting!! So yeah, had a great day. Just hanging out and playing and making a mess and not caring about it because it's not important! I stayed up until who knows when the night before C's birthday finishing off this monkey that I made for her. I'll post some pics on the weekend - I need to make some clothes for her first!! She's pretty cute though, so happy with how she turned out, and Isaac and Charlotte seem to think she's a bit cool! Wasn't even too sad that DH wasn't here, because we were too busy having fun - which helped a lot.

Had a little get together with her friends today. It rained which was a bit of a bummer because we couldn't go to the park as planned, but we just headed down to the sports club down the road as they have an indoor play area for the kids (and its FREE and mummy doesn't have to clean up the mess) so that was really lovely too. All of this activity has been fabulous for making the days go by that much quicker while DH isn't here!

How are you going Mel? Did you get your DH off to the airport okay? Looking forward to lots of lovely sleepovers for the next little while with Em (and maybe even Linc too)??!! I have a little body in my bed tonight....again!! He's made his way in there the last two nights when he's heard me go to bed, so he started in there tonight in the hope that when I go to bed I can transfer him to his! Doesn't matter if I can't, it is very luffly being able to listen to and watch him sleep with me - and it won't happen for too much longer, he already thinks I'm embarrassing and he's not even 3!! I hope the little ones are very well behaved for you while DH is away and that you enjoy your time with the two of them.

Darn it, darn it darn it - I have to do more belated birthday (sorry)

A very big HAPPY BIRTHDAY to all of the beautiful girls girls Kyra, Aurora and Charlotte I'm sure you were all spoilt to death with attention and hope that you all had wonderful days

IM - hope that the kids were both wonderful for you and that you did get lots of cuddles...and just think, you have plenty to hold over DH now for birthdays of the future *insert evil laugh here*

And in the TMI stakes (but also happy mummy) C did her first pooh in the toilet last night :smiliedance: cross fingers it wasn't just a fluke (the ears from her chocolate bunny we've been holding out since easterand some new felt pens will hopefully help that :p)

oh don't you worry - the fact that he missed his own daughter's first birthday will not be something he will be forgetting any time soon mwahahahahaha!! Just joking - I know he feels pretty bad about it, he was talking about going shopping tomorrow after he finishes work to buy presents for us because he feels that he needs to make it up to us!! I don't want presents, just for him to hurry up and come home so that I can shower by myself again! lol! I think I'll treat myself to a haircut and colour too - I surely need it after this week!!!

I hope M cuts these teeth soon so he's back to normal in no time, poor little love. I hate teeth. I really do. I know they need them and everything, but why do they cause so much trouble and pain for the poor little darlings? Enjoy your super long weekend!! Getting up to anything? We're allowed fireworks down here for the queen's birthday long weekend, so I think I might take the kids out on Saturday night to watch some.

Yay for C and the toilet too!! That's very exciting. I hope she keeps it up for you - it's sooooo nice not to have to change those kinds of nappies anymore!! On a side note - how scary that our first babies are almost 3!!! EEEEKKK!!! I swear I only brought Isaac home from hospital the other week!

SS - Oh Evie is super cute!!! And I saw the photo too and it's lovely! I see so much of you in her! Sounds like she had a lovely birthday!

Happy 1st Birthday Hunter. Hope you have a lovely day with lots of cuddles & kisses!

IM - sounds like you had a fantastic birthday for C. Bet your DH feels like he has missed out!

PJ - beautiful photo's of your girls and you too. We have both been brave enough to post a photo of ourselves, will have to challenge everyone else!! Come one, who else is brave enough .

Amanda - your thinking of my middle girl who looks a lot like me. Although I'm happy to hear that IM says she can see me in E because everyone looks at her and says "she looks just like her Dad"!

Just a quick message today - friends for lunch so had best go and get organised, think I'll put a big pot of soup on as its a grey, foggy, drizzly day - perfect for soup & staying home!

Hope everyone has a good weekend - it's a long one here :smiliedance:.

SS im surprised she is so small now too considering her size at birth.. jarvis is around the 12kg mark and that was after he dropped from the 95% to the 80% in a month my poor sick bubba.... he was born smaller then Evie..

Amanda was it you who mentioned about the hair cut.. Jarvis has had his first hair cut already he had a fair bit of hair just very light.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY Hunter.. no more birthdays  all grown up now and nearly all walking toodlers... Jarvis out did Sienna but 5 months  i bet thats going to come up in fights when older

OOH i saw the pic too SS! You look sooo lovely! Evie is gorgeous too!

PJ: good to see you back and Rory is too cuuuute!! what a cute face she has!

IM: Happy belated birthday to Charlotte! Sounds like you had a great day and managed pretty good without your hubby too! YAY!!

Meegzz: HAPPY BIRTHDAY HUNTER!! Congrats for surviving your first year as a mummy meegz! You have done so well! Time for number 2 now eh? hehee

Mel: L sounds just like T! I know what you mean! It's cute, but i don't know how my back can handle picking up 'stuff' so many times a day!! I guess at least he is occupying himself and as long as he is happy.. but yes... :hair: sometimes! ha

RM: OOH teething is soo horrible isn't it!! I hope she feels better soon. How are you finding working and looking after S? I'm trying to remember if you did your work from home?

I got asked by my old employer if I could work from home for them, I am thinking about it, but it would mean getting T looked after maybe 2 days a week, which might be a good idea - luckily my parents are very willing to do that. I just find it hard to get motivated to work at home, i've been in such a slack mode at the moment. Any tips to get motivated?!

Where is Kayla? I think i remember her posting a while back about J having an OP? But wasn't sure... what was that for? Is he okay? Are you okay?

Melly: mm i agree with Bel, it's good to not have a wriggly baby so much!! Good luck with the hospital and doctors. It sounds like J is a happy bub! :) OOH preggers sounds exciting! Keep us posted!

Well i have finally made the transition to one lunch time nap for T. It seems to work out easier so far, and by passing that horrible refusal in the arvo or morning. AND if my oldies look after him one or two days a week then it will be easier for them too, because by 12 o'clock he is well pooped!
Anyone else doing this yet ??

I still have a night waker too :( i'm not sure how to stop it, i've been giving in and boob feeding still, but now i do feel like it's just a habit. Do they eventually break the habit themselves - or do i have to resort to harsher tactics?

Well i am super tired myself, i might lie down and read my book while T is snoozing!

ooops amanda i forgot to post to you!!
YAY for the POOPSIE in the loo! you must be so proud! hehe I hope it wasn't a fluke! And ooh noes about the screaming! T is very determined too and if i dare take something away from him or he doesn't get his way, boy do i hear about it!!! Glad to know mine isn't the only one like that!! I do find it quite draining at the end of the day listening to the screetching all the time!

Firstly, I want to wish Hunter a very happybirthday. I hope you are having a wonderful day with your mummy and daddy and that you get some lovely new pressies and lots of kisses & cuddles. Congratulations Meegzz on surviving your 1st year of motherhood. It's wonderful isn't it??

OK, now for some personals!

C did her first pooh in the toilet last night

Wahoo, yay C! That's very exciting ... and I certainly hope there have been a few more since this post. Isn't it funny how, when you become a mummy, some of the grossest things are such proud moments for us :D

I gathered the kids have been misbehaving judging by some of DH's comments on FB, lol!

Wasn't even too sad that DH wasn't here, because we were too busy having fun - which helped a lot.

Sounds like you and the kids have had a wonderful time celebrating Miss C's birthday and it sounds like you did a great job IM

How are you going Mel? Did you get your DH off to the airport okay? Looking forward to lots of lovely sleepovers for the next little while with Em (and maybe even Linc too

Yes IM, we got hubby off to the airport this morning. L had a cr@p night sleep and we were up at 6 this morning, got the kids sorted, took E to school, came back and picked up DH and his bro & sil, who are also going to NZ with him, drove them all to the airport, L cried at least 1/2 way of the 45 minute trip so that was nice & relaxing (NOT), dropped them off, drove home again and am now just vegeing for awhile before I have to go and pick E up from school. I've got the ducted heating on and just want to curl up in a ball and go to sleep. E is having a sleep over with me tonight, and yes you're right, it's lovely watching them sleeping. Although E is a very restless sleeper and to this day still has a bed guard along one side of her bed because she's all over the shop, she's fallen out many times when sleeping at other places without a bed rail, so she probably won't sleep with me too many times as she kicks and ends up sideways

Have a feeling I may be pregant again too,but dont know...

That's exciting ... were you planning on having more? Looking forward to hearing an update sometime soon!

Do they eventually break the habit themselves - or do i have to resort to harsher tactics?

I personally think that if you want to wean him you will need to stop feeding him during the night. I'm planning on doing just that this week while DH is not home because there will be tears, but you just have to try and be tough. I still feed L during the night, at about 4am, but I'm just over it and want to sleep all night. He woke at 12.30 this morning and I didn't feed him, he cried for a little while and stayed awake until 1.30am, but then slept until 6am so I'll try it again tonight. I think that, until you cut him off, he will keep waking and wanting it out of habit more than anything.

Working 2 days a week sounds like fun, but getting motivated to work from home is tough. When E was about 3 she went to daycare once a week and I worked from home. I just turned some music on and found that I was able to get more done listening to music. You're very lucky to have your parents around to look after T and should make the most of that!

L still has 2 naps most days, one at about 9.30 (depending on what time he woke up) or 11ish, if we've been out and about, and another one at about 4pm till just after 5 but I think that he will probably cut the 2nd sleep out in the next cpl of months. When they start fighting and fighting it's easier just to string them out for the morning so that they're exhausted and have a nice long nap around lunch time. It used to frustrate the he!! out of me trying to get E to sleep in the mornings when she was about 14 months, so I just gave up and then we were both much happier! LOL

Am I the only one who can't see SS's photos ... I keep getting a blank screen every time I click on the links.

PJ, loved the photos of you and your girls.

Bel, Jarvis & Luca looked like they were having fun together the other day!

Well, better think about waking L up so we can go and get E from school.

Toodles!

Melly i see you fixed it haha how did the hospital go?? I remember the days of size 0 :( my baby is gone!! i looked in the Toys r us catalogue and the clothes were only to size 1... I just ordered size 3's from the PP online... :-(

On the plus side i found J's new bed in the Toys r us catalogue a wooden Disney Cars bed its not a toddler bed its a single bed which is perfect as he got a single bed quilt cover for his birthday... he will go into the big bed in about 2 months. As he already goes up and down the stairs all day so he is used to that i want him walking a little more to have the option of a big bed.. plus his cot is being given to a friend who is due in September.

As for naps J has them whenever he is tired we drive around alot so he sleeps alot in the car...

HBP working from home sounds perfect i want to work part time its just finding it in my career ive had a few calls but all for full time

Have you captured the kissing yet Amanda?!! I want to see!!

Camera is charging as we speak! And we have big balloon fanatics here too - it's my favourite way of placating them in the pram when we're shopping (though I curse the ones who don't have tight fitting attachments and the balloons fall off the stick - it's either stop every 10 steps and pick them up, of face the hysterics of taking them off them!!!!)...sounds like all 3 of you had a ball!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY HUNTER and congrats Megzz ...hope it was a great one

Come one, who else is brave enough

Amanda - your thinking of my middle girl who looks a lot like me. Although I'm happy to hear that IM says she can see me in E because everyone looks at her and says "she looks just like her Dad"!

I will, but just need to have 10 mins spare to uplaod all of the one's from M's birthday - it was over a months ago now . I did think that it was K, but wasn't 100% sure...it's sooo funny because so many people think that C is a spitting image of DH, and then I get the few randoms that say she's so much like me....I honestly think she has my/my family's eyes (like looking into a mirror) but when so many people say DH, I start to question it

It's cute, but i don't know how my back can handle picking up 'stuff' so many times a day!! I guess at least he is occupying himself and as long as he is happy.. but yes... sometimes! ha

Well i have finally made the transition to one lunch time nap for T. Anyone else doing this yet ??

I 3rd that one - M's favourite drawer is the cooking odds and ends one - can't tell you how many times I've found the parmesan garter, chopstick or measuring cups somewhere very very obscure!!

And nope - I'll be keeping the 2nd sleep as long as possible - not that it happenes every day (most days though because he's usually up at 5, so goes down at 8.30 ish for an hour and then 12.30ish for 2 hours)...I was horrified when C's FDCer only gave her one sleep at 18 montsh when she started - I so wasn't ready to lose that 2nd sleep!!! (and not sure about the otivation thing - I haven't managed to catch that bug yet lol)

Melly - I'll be watching this page!!!

Emsmum - unfortunately no repeats yet....I was out grocery shopping last night and apparently C spent 10 mins in the toilet and then got off and literally one minute later dirtied everywhere (which she was horrified about understandably - I hadn't put her in a nappy yet to try and encourage the repeat beformance, but not to be)...and then tonight 2 minutes after being in bed the smell wafted.....hopefully though it will click properly (and if not I can keep asking her ad nausium (sp))

And Dh has a very short patience level at the best of times, so always divide those comments in half :p...in saying that though, he left a gambling site open (he and a mate start with $50 each a year with the aim to see who wins the most over the year....keeps them entertained at least) and C placed a $55 bet  and lost - so wasn't happy Jan...I'm soooo supportive though - just told him he should stop gambling and spend the $50 a year on me and he'd probably come out ahead  which goes down like a tonne of bricks lol

I never thought about kids needing the side rail long term - especially when I see so many bubhubians only leave them on for a few weeks. C's had hers on for nearly a year and still needs it - she's like Em and even with the rail manages to turn upside down and fall out the other end!!!!! Maybe that'll be her arguement for a double bed one day

Bel - 3's woah!!! C's only just starting to venture into 3's now and she's nearly 3!!! And you're raelly game with the bed thing...unless M starts to climb (which it appears his cot is the only thing he doesn't climb) I think we'll wait till 2ish like C - don't want to give him easy access out. I have no idea what the bed looks like (or if it's even elsewhere) but it may be worth checking out Spotlight too - I got an email saying that all of their licensed beds are half price so that may be an even better buy

Oooh Melly - keep us updated with the pregnancy thing - can you see how excited we all are at the prospect? Clearly a lot of us here kinda wishing it was us!! I need size 0 clothes - but I'm guessing yours are all kind of blue. Not that I have a problem with dressing my little girl in blue, but everytime I put her in a blue shirt, even though she'll have a skirt or a dress and pink shoes to go with the blue shirt I have people comment on my son smiling and laughing at them :hair: I know she doesn't have much hair - but come on - she's a girl!!! How did Jacob's needles go today? Hope he was a little champion and didn't complain too much. I really need to book C in for hers.

I got asked by my old employer if I could work from home for them, I am thinking about it, but it would mean getting T looked after maybe 2 days a week, which might be a good idea - luckily my parents are very willing to do that. Part time work from home sounds great HBP - especially if the grandparents can help out with looking after T and therefore saving you a bit of money =D No tips on getting motivated though - I find it hard enough to get motivated to clean the house, let alone work from it!!

Bummer about the night waking. I still have a night waker too - anywhere between 11.30 and 2 and then normally about 4.30, but then she sleeps until about 7. I am happy to keep boob feeding her at the moment, only because she's still pretty small though. I cut off the night feeds for Isaac when he was 15 months, so I'm happy to give Charlotte a few months to decide waking up in the middle of the night sucks herself before I take it away from her!!

Camera is charging as we speak!

it's sooo funny because so many people think that C is a spitting image of DH, and then I get the few randoms that say she's so much like me....I honestly think she has my/my family's eyes (like looking into a mirror) but when so many people say DH, I start to question it

Bel - 3's woah!!! C's only just starting to venture into 3's now and she's nearly 3!!!

Hurry up and charge camera!! It's funny you say that about C and your DH, because when you posted the family picture of the four of you a while ago, I swear C was just a mini version of you!!

And I am TOTALLY with you Amanda on keeping the second day sleep for as long as possible!! It is bliss! Much needed mummy time! Isaac has only gone down to one sleep in the middle of the day about ummm maybe 3 months ago, and sometimes, depending on how early he wakes up and I can get him to nap in the morning he'll still have a second. I was quite distraught when he started fighting that second arvo sleep a little while ago! I've adjusted now though, but I'll be keeping C's second sleep for as long as I can!

And yikes!! 3's Bel??? Charlotte's only just been able to wear 0s without them hanging off her! lol! The PP sizing is really big, too I find - Isaac can still fit into the 18 - 24 mth clothing, and Charlotte can still fit into some of the 3 to 6 mth clothing  Not much - but some!

I went and weighed Charlotte today - she's still so tiny :goodvibes: 7.995 kgs - so close to 8kgs!! Should have weighed her AFTER morning tea! So am pretty pleased with her weight gain for the past six weeks, seeing as she was sick during that period and lost 400 - 500 grams, so had to put that back on plus another 600 grams. She's still "technically" underweight though I'm sure I'll be told when I go and get her checked out next week. When she was sick and we were at the hospital the dr was saying that by their first birthday they should have tripled their birth weight  What the?!! Has anyone else's babies even come close to tripling their birth weight?

I've done the ironing, so I should go and do some exercise. I'm on a mission to lose this baby weight, seeing as Charlotte's not a baby anymore!

Oh and Mel - some of these for you :hugs::hugs: Hope that the kids went down without a fuss tonight, that L stays asleep all night long and that you're able to get a good night's sleep.

I hope L learns on the first night you won't be feeding him anymore so that there's not too many tears, and there's lots of sleep to be had this week!!

I sooo hear ya on the getting kicked and ending up sideways thing! lol! I can't believe the positions I find Isaac in some nights  He's been much better the last couple of nights though - staying on daddy's side of the bed, not kicking the covers off too often, and not scratching me with his super long toenails  It was really cute last night actually. When I was getting in bed he asked what I was doing (well hello, it is MY bed kiddo!). When I said I was just getting into bed he said "no mummy, you need to do the washing up" (because I told him I'd come to bed after I'd cleaned the kitchen and done some things downstairs. After I convinced him the washing up was done and I was going asleep now he fell back asleep and within about 5 minutes was giggling his little head off in his sleep :goodvibes: It was the cutest thing - I wish I'd had the video camera up there!!

That turned into a post all about me - sorry Mel!! Thinking of you and your little ones this week and hoping it's a good one :D

:hugs: Melly J's milestones will so much more special when he does make them. I understand how you feel though - it is so hard to watch and hear about other children while yours struggles. As for the other news - how exciting!! Do you have any other children? How did the needles go? E has a runny nose so we'll wait another week or so till I get hers done.

HBP - hope things work out with working from home, great you have family to look after T. Sounds ideal if it all works out. We are still on 2 sleeps a day and I'm in no hurry to change - I need that time to catch up around the house. I have managed to drop the night feed and she is finally sleeping from 7pm through to 5am - wakes for a feed and then sleeps for another hour or 2. To drop then night feed we had to leave her to grizzle when she woke up - I usually jump up as soon as she stirs but I found that if I waited it never really became a full blown cry and she would just grizzle herself back to sleep. Gradually over a few days she stopped and slept through :smiliedance:. After 11 months of getting up at least 2 or 3 times a night I am in heaven, I love my sleep!!

Emsmum - not sure why you can't see the photo's they are just in a Bubhub album so you should be able to? How long is DH in New Zealand for? K slept with a bedrail till she was about 4 1/2, I used to always find her squashed up hard against but then one night we forgot to fold it back up after stortime and she coped ok, for a while I would put it up when I went to bed. Once she fell out and landed on her face and gave herself a blood nose! Gave us all a nasty fright so the rail went back up for a while!!

Both J & K were in the cot until about 2 yrs old. K actually had 1/2 a night in her bed and then cried for the cot so we let her sleep in it for another couple of months. I will keep E in it as long as possible - at least I know she is safe and can't get up to any trouble. Mind you she's not as big as J - I imagine he must be getting a bit cramped in the cot.

Bel - size 3's!! What a little champion. E is still in mostly O's, some size 1's in tops and body suits with the sleeves rolled up. Her size 0 pants are mostly still rolled up to stop her tripping over them. On the other hand she has BIG feet compared to her sisters and is in a size 4 - still no shoes yet, but 4's in slippers and soft leather shoes. K was wearing size 4’s when she was 2 ½ - I know because I still have the pair of clarkes she wore that winter.

IM – yep the soup was good, kids even ate it so that’s a plus!! My cousins wife and 2 kids came over for a play (its school holidays here). The youngest is nearly 2 and she is the same size as Evie. She’s just little like your C. Perfectly healthy & happy little girl, her mum is on the small side too. As for tripling their birth weight? None of mine did that by 12 months. E is slightly over double – she had a bit extra to start with tho!!

E loves any of the hard board type books. She also got a “Whose Ears?” lift the flap book that she really likes. K picked out a little book in the shape of a pig with googly eyes that she likes too. We have a couple of plastic books in the bath the she loves too.

Hope everyone has a lovely long weekend. Best go – my mum is on the way to give us our flu vaccines (she’s a nurse) – ahhh, I hate needles!!

Has anyone else's babies even come close to tripling their birth weight?

I'm on a mission to lose this baby weight, seeing as Charlotte's not a baby anymore!

At least C has put on weight IM. You look like a 'petite' kinda gal (I'm sure you'll tell me that you're not ;)). Maybe she's just petite like her mummy! L was 4.4kgs when he was born so if he was to triple his birth weight he would now be weighing around 13.2kgs, but he's not. He weighs just over 10kgs. I wouldn't stress too much about what people say your baby should/shouldn't be doing/weigh etc., C seems happy and healthy so that's the main thing.

I hear ya on the losing baby weight thing. I'm tempted to buy a Nintendo WII to do the exercise work outs, I've heard they are awesome. I don't have a 'muffin top' anymore, I have a 'sponge top', seriously gotta do something about that before people start asking me when the baby's due, LOL

Hope that the kids went down without a fuss tonight, that L stays asleep all night long and that you're able to get a good night's sleep.

They both went down easily, but L woke at 4am. I got him up, sat him in his rocker and rocked him (no boob) for about 35 mins, lights out, back into bed and he slept until 6.30am. E, on the other hand, woke up with a cold and feeling sick. She's vomited once this morning, hope it's not the start of things to come. Oh BTW, I loved your story about I in your bed last night and that he was giggling, way too cute!

Do your little ones have any favourite books?

The only one that L really, really loves atm is called 'Toddlers can .....' and it's a hardboard book with pictures of toddlers doing things on each page, like 'clap hands' etc., he giggles his little head off every time he looks at that book.

How long is DH in New Zealand for?

DH gets back from NZ on Sunday week, so he has gone for 10 days. E had a few tears this morning, and at school apparently, because she is missing him, poor darling!! Goodluck with your flu shots! You're very lucky that your mum's a nurse.

That would have been frightening when K fell out of bed and got a blood nose, we've never had any dramas like that but H has rolled out of bed into a suitcase (when we were in NZ one time), rolled under another bed when she was sleeping on a mattress on the floor at a friend's house, and has ended upside down on numerous occasions.

Bel, I can't believe that you're thinking about moving J into a bed already. Isn't that just bizarre, to think that you only had him a year ago and already thinking of moving him into a bed. I'm not having a go at you, just amazed at how quickly he's growing. E slept in her cot until she was almost 3, and I'm hoping to get at least another 2 years out of the cot for L, he can't get into any trouble in there!!

Well, we didn't go to swimming lessons this morning because E was :barf:, although she is now dancing around the loungeroom, so not sure what's up with that. I just changed L's dirty nappy and while holding his legs with one hand, grabbing a wipe and trying to stop him from wiggling away from he, he grabbed a whole heap of poo and smeared it over his cheek . He is such a rascal!

Might try and do some grocery shopping now seeing as E feels heaps better, hopefully she doesn't vomit again :fingerscrossed:

Hey Ladies

Sorry again for my slackness have just read the last few days of the thread and there was heaps to catch up on. Happy birthday to hunter for the other day and congrats Meegz on surviving the first year of motherhood :)

Loved the pics SS & PJ, good to see you again PJ and hope things are going well for you.

SS - That was so nice of you to say, i have been incredibly busy lately, hoping this week is a much quieter one, but we have a few things happening next week too.

Ok, i have to get Josh to bed and read his stories, bugger, will try and remember what i read tomorrow and reply to you lovely ladies.

Also we have a toddler bed for Cam set up, hoping to get Cam and Josh to share a room and transition them both out of MY bed at the same time, so around Joshy's 4th birthday Cam will be 18 months and hopefully night weaned by then, so yeah hoping they can share a room. Cam has already checked out his bed and he loves it, so will probably put him there for day sleeps soon. :)

Chat again tomorrow hopefully, have been thinking of you all :)

 Vee,

What sort of foods do you feed Cam for lunch? I'm running out of df ideas. So far we alternate between avocado, salmon, tuna or banana sandwiches. Very occasionally I throw in a jam sandwich, although I hate doing it because of the sugar content. I also give him porridge from time to time, or baked beans with toast. Any other ideas??

We're enjoying our 'daddy free time' although E has been missing him heaps, which I'm a little surprised about. I mean, he's hardly ever here anyway, always at work, but at the end of the day they sometimes get to play and have fun together, and that's when she's really missing him, so yeah we've had lots of tears the past 2 days. Yesterday afternoon we did arts and crafts, E did some lovely paintings and made some nice necklaces/bracelets for her friends, and this morning we made butterfly, teddy bear, star, elephant & hippo pancakes.:) We're off to visit a friend shortly and do some shopping, so I best go and get ready.

Have a great day ladies!

 Mel - Yummm pancakes!! That's so cool you made shape pancakes, you are so creative. With lunch, we are usually having left overs from the dinner before, he's had chicken risotto, tuna and pasta, spaghetti on toast, i have trouble with breakfast! lol He has toast and vegemite sometimes or just dry cereal, sometimes with oat or soy milk but he isn't that interested. He has fruit aswell and sultanas he seems to like. Hope when your DH comes home he has some special time with Em seeing as she missed him so much, poor little treasure. :hugs: Loved reading about your day with Linc, and i agree with Amanda our three boys would certainly run amok together. The other day Cam got into the toilet and pulled all the toilet paper off the roll, he's also into hiding and sometimes i swear i have lost him, he thinks he's pretty funny!

Amanda - Yay for Charlotte for doing a poo on the toilet, funny how exciting it is hey! I stressed so much about Josh toilet training then after a few days he was pretty much toilet trained, so he took to it really well which was nice, still not night trained though and he still has a bottle and sleeps in my bed hoping that will stop on his birthday, we are already pre warning him!

IM - Is your DH home yet? Your day sounded just lovely anyways, what a great idea to cover the room in balloons for them to wake up to, that's awesome. Cam really loves balloons now too, squeals at the shops when he sees them now and just wants them all the time. Amanda - I have the same problem with the balloons and the sticks are rather sharp, wish they had a better way of giving them to the kids. Oh and thanks for asking about Cam's day, not sure if i posted, i just posted in the birthday section and put some pics up there if you wanna have a looksie. I haven't had time to catch up on most things lately.

Rynosmum - Sounds like you're busy with cakes again, it's funny hey i went to so much effort with Cam's party and made a few cakes and they barely got eaten, so we had cake for weeks after! Saw your post about Ry in the other thread, i hope they find his missing teste, is that in any way related to hernia??

HBP - Goodluck with the sleeping arrangements with little T man, hope he cooperates! lol But i also agree with the others, keeping their naps for longer is a godsend if you can do it! lol

Kayla - Hope Jaylen is feeling better :hugs:

I feel like staying in my jammies all day today, but have things i need to do, bugge, so better get off and do them.

Have a great day everyone!

Just a quick hello! And once again a belated happybirthday to all those precious bubs that have celebrates their special days since I've last posted! Boy I feel slack...

MIL and SIL have been for a visit this weekend and DH has just returned from taking them to the airport so I'd better be quick!

V8 - just noticed your ticker - you're doing very well!

IM - Bella has a few "That's not my" books which she loves , she also loves the very hungry caterpillar and where's the green sheep.

Ems Mum - Bella loves creamed corn - today for lunch she ate a little tine, plus half and avocado, some baby rice crackers with hummous and some sultanas. Hope you're having a lovely time with your kiddlywinks while your DH is away.

Amanda- how's your DH recovering?

SS - cute pics! Bella, like Evie, is nowhere near triple her birthweight. She was 4.07 at birth and now (at almost 13 months) is just 9.5kg, but she's only 71cm so still has a nice chubby tummy. She has REALLY little feet - she's in a size 2 now, and has been walking for almost 2 months. I really need to get her some hard soled shoes to wear when we go to the park, etc but I can't find anything small enough! :hair:

Bel - I just bought Bella a cut Fluffy pink sprout jacket at the Myer sale today - size 0! The 1 was way too long in the arms. We're thinking we'll take the side off Bella's cot and put on one of those bedguards when she's about 18 months old. I like the idea that she can get up in the morning and just come into our bed for cuddles without us having to get up!

Kayla - how's Jaylen? What's happening with you lately?

Well, this post is already longer than I planned!! Best be going!

Ciao!

oh theres just too much to catch up on and by the time i read it i forgot half the comments!! Luca is in the kitchen being naughty so i might half to make this short. Hi to everyone :) Its good theres lots of walkers and seems everyons getting into the food pretty good.

I have been MIA last couple of days because sims3 has come out... Dedicated sims player since the first game so i just had to get this one and im already addicted between sims and Luca theres just no time! Im sure ill grow tired of it eventually

Bel - thanks so much for the clothes, i think i forgot to thank you when i was there. Luca has started wearing the tops but the pants are a bit too big yet. My short little guy.

Cindye - Luca is about what yours is in length, his 72cm and weight his 9.7kg i think thats what it is. Bad memory. So he hasnt quite doubled his birth weight but no one seems concerned and his a happy little monster most of the time.

Hi all.. dont get me wrong some size 1 pants fit jarvis still depending on the brand but in tops def have to buy size 3's now... he still wears alot of size 2 tops but if im buying them now i would buy a 3.. sienna wears 3's so i swap jarmies some times too haha.... jarvis isnt all that big but some clothes are just a little small like the jumper i was tryingt o get off him when M2L was here... byt the way Luca can have that size 2 im not going through that again

As for the bed DH has gone to pick it up now jarvis wont be in it until he is walking a little more so i know he is 100% right with the stairs we goes up and down all day but i said he would be in a single bed when he was 14 months... plus the cot is going to a friend... sienna went into a toddler bed at 19 months but didnt walk until 17 with the advice from a nurse as she was a shocking sleeper and guess what it worked....

Havent got much time to do PM's as we are going out to lunch......

Amanda - love the pics...

Hi everyone!

I havent been on much due to hubby being home sick the last week.

happy birthday to hunter too and any other babies i have missed!

nat got weighed a week ago and she's only 7.5kgs, so she is under the 5% line in the health books, i think its cause of being in sri lanka. she is only 70cms tall too. i think she is the smallest out of all the may babies!

I can now finally put some pics up of Nat's birthday and our trip to Sri Lanka!

 All!!

Great Photos Cassie!! Looks like you had a fantastic time. How do you go with the language or do they all speak English as well?

Well done for joining the challenge and putting up some pictures of yourself!

Nat sounds little when you give her measurements but when you look at photos of her she seems in perfect proportion - even has those cute chubby baby thighs! Maybe she's just going to be little - she looks happy and healthy so don't stress about it.

Amanda - lovely photo's too. The train table looks great. My cousins little boy (he's 3) has one and my 5 year old loves it - so much so that she asked for a train set like Sam's for Christmas. Unfortunately we don't have room for a table like that but I did find a tub with 120 wooden pieces (track, trains, scenery etc) that she's happy with.

IM - I can recommend the "Wheres the Green Sheep" that Cindye mentioned. All my girls love that one - you can get a hardbook version as well as a paperback.

Best go - sounds like DH is back for the supermarket with the 2 youngest!

thanks, some of those photos of me arent the best to, lol. I got food poisoning just after natasha's birthday and ended up in the local dirty hospital for a couple of hours with a drip and then on antibiotics. i was sick for days and couldnt eat and i lost 2 kgs from that.
Nat just seems so tiny, i knew she wouldnt put on alot going to sri lanka, dylan was the same when he went the first time, im not to worried thou cause she is healthy. Both dylan and Nat have their fathers figure, he is litterally a rake!!! thank god they didnt get mine!

we tried to change her earings b4 we left SL but she was wriggling and crying to much, so we couldnt, the necklace is quite big on her and the bangle is to big to, she should fit in to them by her next birthday. we did that with dylan to, he has a necklace with a 24kt pendant which we put on him when he turned 2. and he wears it all the time!
Good luck with ur move, we should be doing the same thing in about 2 months. we r buying a house to.

Size 7's! And I thought E had big feet. Maybe he's going to be a good swimmer.

My 5 1/2 year old is still in size 9's - she has tiny narrow feet which is a pain in the bum!! Most school shoes start from size 10 so we had to buy 10's and get a special innersole to make them fit her. Also all the shoes in her size are a bit babyish - have been looking for some nice winter boots but not much luck unless I want to pay $120.00!!! I don't think so !! Big feet do have an advantage.

awesome pics amanda and cassie!!!

Amanda: M is suuuch a cutie pie! Looks like you guys had a great day on his bday!

Cassie: ooh food poisoning must of been horrible over there!! and i don't think Nat looks too small either - just looks healthy and that's the main thing :)

IM: where you after book recommendations? I can totally recommend any books by Rod Campbell. We have Dear Zoo and The Noisy Farm and T totally loves them!

Mel: how did you go with trying to get L to sleep through while hubby was away??? How has E been? is she all better now?

We tried last night without going in, and luckily he was only grizzling and not doing a massive cry out, and low and behold he got back to sleep!! :smiliedance: It took about 25 mins but then silence till 6:30! phew! So now we will try again tonight, just depends on how his cries sound!

Thanks for the napping comments... i thought it might of been early to go to one nap, and totally agree with everyone about loving that extra nap, but for us it was such a struggle that i think it seems much less stress this way...AND it's much easier if T stays at my parents place 2 days a week for them to get him to nap, because by 12 he is pooped!

My mum gave T a nickname of Bogtail Bill :laughing: he did so many poops for them yesterday! :o Luckily i packed 3 nappies!

Hey HBP,

Thanks for asking, the first 3 nights I actually got up to him and put him in the rocker, rocked him to sleep and about 20 mins later he went back to bed and slept right through. The past 3 nights he hasn't woken and has slept from 7pm until 6am :yelclap:!:fingerscrossed: it continues, but not getting my hopes up as yet. DH is still away, he gets back on Sunday. E has been fantastic, she's had 2 sleep overs in my bed, and will be having another one tonight. She's such a good girl, and very helpful. She is all better, but mummy's the sick one. I started with a sore throat on Sat arvo and Sun and Mon was like swallowing razor blades. Started feeling better yesterday and this morning, but this arvo my glands are really swolen on the rhs, so I'm hoping that's not the start of something bad!

Glad to hear that T had a good night last night, hope that continues for you. L has been 'mr pooalot' too lately, and it's lovely when I take the nappy off and he tries to roll over, or grab hold of some poo :barf:

Nice photos Cassie, looks like you had a great time.

Loved your photos too amanda. I'm confused, was that picture of the train table at a toy shop, or your house? My friend has the same table, and her 2 boys get hours and hours of fun with that.

Better go and start dinner (yeah I really feel like doing that), I actually managed to clean the house today (well most of it), it's the first day I've really done anything since DH left.

Congrats to your friend Cassie! A beautiful little boy :D

Heya everyone! Long time no write! I have sooo much to catch up on.

Firstly, gorgeous pics Amanda! M is such a spunky little monkey! And that train table is fabulous (as is the rest of your toy room :p) Love the photo of C on the lounge.....eeek!!!!! What a cheeky little monkey she is too!

Mel, oh hope you're feeling better lovely. If I lived closer I'd offer to take L so that you could just rest. Awesome news about L sleepinig through though. That is fantastic! I sooo need to do something about Charlotte. She's gone from being a fabulous sleeper to waking up countless times a night. I do think her teeth have something to do with it though....and she's not breastfeeding as much through the day either, so she's making up for it at night - but man alive it's taking it's toll on me!! Between her and Isaac deciding he needs to wake up and yell out that he's cold or it's morning already and he needs to wake up, I'm knackered! lol! It really is a good thing they are very, very adorable! I have a wii - it's what I'm using at the moment to get motivated again to exercise. Lots of fun and Isaac loves to exercise with me too! He's always asking me to do the running or the skating again so that he can "help" me! Very cute! 'tis good fun though - I definitely recommend it!

Cassie - great pics of Nat, the family and all of her presents! What a spoilt little girl! You only turn one once though, don't you?! She's so gorgeous. And I'm very jealous of all of her hair!! I wish my little munchkin had some more hair. She sounds so petite and tiny, just like Charlotte. I'm glad I'm not the only one with a tiny little one year old!!

HBP - so have you started working already? lol @ the nickname your mum gave T!!! What lovely little surprises for her every time she changed his nappy!! lol! Thanks for the book suggestions too - I'll keep my eyes out for them this weekend.

DH is home, thanks for asking Vee. Very nice to have that extra set of hands around for bath, dinner, bed. And the kids are just sooo glad that their daddy is home, they both missed him terribly. I'm glad too, obviously! I sleep so much better when he's in bed next to me, even though he snores like you wouldn't believe and gets crabby when I steal the covers

I know there was lots more, but I can't read any more posts. Grrr!! My memory sucks too - baby brain is still here unfortunately! Anyway should run. I'm having a mocktail and nibbly tupperware party tonight! should be fun....if I can get the mocktails made and nibblies cooked in time!

Hi to everyone I've missed!!

Well just a quick update.

Turns out I'm not pregnant AF decided to come pay a visit ..over a week later just to scare me...I thik its from all the running around and stress that she arrived late:confused:
In a way im glad im not pregnant I dont think i'd have enough time in a day with Jacobs appointments and then mine if i was pregnant.

Also having problems picking Jacob up at the moment as I have a ganglion on my upper hand and it hurts like hell...for those of you who dont know what it is...its a cyst that attaches itself to your tendons. so each time u bend ur fingers or move your wrist its OWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW .
Dr said 2 years on the public waiting list to get it operated on and I may not have full feeling in my hand afterwards as they are operating on the tendons 2..Hmm the joys LOL

We have a date for Jacob getting his grommets too July 2nd..Im a bit worried as hes older now and is starting to realise hospitals arent all fun and games.

Hes also starting to push himself up on his arm like the start of the crawling procedure..or he'll stick his bum up in the air but cant put the 2 together..im sure he'll get there eventually:D

He's been such a bugger the last few days though..pick him up he wants to go down...put him down he cries and wants to come back up :hair:

Well ive got my partners family coming over Monday from Melbourne to see Jacob as they have never seen him before(only photos)..im just hoping they dont pick up any funny bugs *swine flu* passing through the airports as thats the last thing we'd need with Jacobs problems..and coming from victoria themselves its kind of scary,:fingerscrossed: it will all be fine as they are staying in a hotel anyway not with us.

Well I hope everyone is well.I have a million things I need to do before Monday but with Jacob being a sooky bum I dont think it will get done..I need a magic fairy

hi all. Luca has been waking up for the last 2 nights every 30 minutes!! This combined with the fact the top of his head was wet and sticky and didnt smell so pleasant made us go to the doctor today. Where his cradle cap was (just came back after not having it for months- i used oil 3-4 days ago to remove it) it was infected :( so his on a course of antibiotics for 10 days, 3 times a day and panadol every 4 hours for atleast the next 2 days. His a very very unhappy boy :'(

So ill be trying to cheer him up - nights are the worst, his been crying for hours and NOTHING i do works, does anyone have anything they have tryed that helps?
