Hello all,
I am searching for some reassurance regarding ABC at Clayfield. Are there any mums out there who send their children to the centre?? My children are due to start there in July when my job increases to three days per week from two days. I wasn't happy leaving them in the care they've been in since April so I decided to switch them over to ABC. Anyway, I dropped off the enrolment forms yesterday and while I was at the front counter I could hear the carers talking to the children and there was just something that seemed a little off about it. I can't even remember what they were saying to the kids but it just had this really mean and nasty tone which worried me a little. Now I am wondering whether I should just be leaving them where they are?? Does anyone have any opinions on the centre?? I know that the centre used to be Clayfield Early Learning Centre and has only just been taken over by ABC. Thanks in advance

cheers,

Sorry I can't help you out there. I am currently going through the problem of finding daycare for my dd. The only advise that everyone keeps giving me is that you need to feel comfortable.
Is there any particular reason you are going to change centres?

I haven't been too impressed with where my children currently are - its a non-profit centre which I know everyone on BH seems to say are great but I have not been particularly happy, so because my job was increasing to three days I found out I could use a childcare referral service to help find childcare. They gave me two places that could take my daughter and son, and on the days I went and checked them out, ABC was definitely the stand-out. But when I was there yesterday I guess I just got a different feel by how I could hear a certain carer speaking to a child. A friend of mine had her children in another ABC on the northside and couldn't praise them enough - also she said they were quite good with "discipline" issues, not physical obviously, but she said they were good at keeping the kids in check if you know what I mean, and that was what the other centre I looked at seemed to lack, there were kids going crazy all over the place!! I guess I am just worried now that I am throwing my kids from the frying pan into the fire. Maybe an attack of the guilts over putting my children into care an extra day a week. I think I am just gonna see how it goes - if it turns out really bad I will just pull them out of there without hesitation. Thanks for the listening ear...
