Firstly, what is the BEST way to clean the carpet when max wees on it?

Secondly, how do I encourage him to go on the paper when he's inside, or ooutside?

I know he's still little and it will tke a while but some advice would be great!!!

every time he wakes up, put him outside. every time he has finished eating- outside.
If you see him peeing just quickly throw him onto the paper (or outside) even if he has finished.

then give some praise if he does go outside or on the paper.

thats what i have done with all my pets and its worked

ETA: i forgot the first one, you can just clean it with soapy water. there is a spray you can get that deters them from peeing in the same place. but i never needed it for the dogs

good advice from confused, do nto use ammonia based products such as pinocleen, will make the dog want to wee there more, the main thing is supervision, if you are not able to watch him and look for the signs that he is about to go then put him outside the more times he goes inside without getting caught the harder it will be to toilet train him, with the breed you have chosen i strongly recommend puppy preschool, they can have a tendancy to be aggressive and dominant if not trained right. unfortuantely you ahve chosen a bad breed if you dont ahve much money, may I ask why the breeder gave him to you for free? they tend to ahve a few health issues early on due to all the wrinkles

I have been watching and trying to take him outside as much as possible when i see the signs, BUT if he has already weed should i still put him outside?

He was given to us by a friend who breeds them for my DS (cause he has special needs but dogs bring him to life) with the condition that if things don't work out they will take him back. They are also going to pay his regular vet bills (like vaccinations etc) and we just have to pay anything out of the ordinary.

And he will be starting puppy preschool asap, I'd already thought of that!!!
