My little girl is now 11 months old and has been having 3 bottles per day (morning, lunch and before bed) the last few says she has not really been wanting the 2nd bottle. Is she too young to only be having 2 bottrles per day> She has 3 solid meals per day and also has snacks in between.

Hi there,

I am having the same dilemma with my 9.5 mth old son. I struggle so hard to get him to have his lunchtime bottle these days that I'm about to give up altogether. My CHN said it was ok - as long as he's getting his nutrients from his solids. He is now starting to play up with his breakfast and bedtime bottle too and I'm getting upset about it. I think it's more of a comfort thing for me rather than him!! I've even started giving him the bottle first, then the solids hoping that because he's hungry, he'll drink the milk. But no, he'll push the bottle away and will happily eat his solids instead!!

I'd be interested to know at what age other bubs started dropping their 3rd bottle?

Hi girls...
My twins started refusing formula bottles at 9 months and were still a bit little for their age so I was advised to put them on cows milk early. I changed 1 bottle each few days until they were having all 3 a day as full cream cows milk. I was told that if I was getting poo problems, then I should dilute the milk with water by 1/3 but I never had any problems. They still refuse the bottle occasionally now (they are 13 months and still having 3 per day usually). I have been told to try and keep up the 3 bottles a day for at least another couple of months due to them being small and fussy eaters so I just add a little bit of Milo to the milk every couple of bottles and it seems to do the trick. The Milo is good also because it has iron in it and my boys aren't big meat eaters.

Hi
Brooke is nearly 11 months old and is having 3 full bottles still a day and a small one before bed. CHN said the same thing, cut back etc.
She eats heaps though and just "really" loves her bottles. All my friends and family say don't listen to CHN give her the bottle until she refuses it , best nutrition and she has heaps of time to eat big later .. i've been told sooner then later she will just refuse the bottle , so just keep going.

Brooke will throw mini tantrums until shes gets her bottle of milk :D I'm not concerned one bit!

My dd is 10 1/2 mths and she only has 2 bottles one when she wakes up and one for bed at night. and also one bottle is cows milk the other is formula. In the afternoon about 2.30 she has her straw cup with cows milk then she goes for a nap. But the past 2days she hasnt wanted her morning bottle so i put that in her straw cup too.
When i took her to the clinic the nurse nearly had a heart attack when i told her she has a drink of cows milk in the afternoon, lucky i didnt tell her that she is having bottles of cows milk.
