Yipeeee... got to get there early though. Gotta just love the queues trailing round the whole store then out the door just to get to layby. Will have to make sure DH has the day off so I dont have to take DS with me. He is a nightmare out at the shops.

With 5 children this sale is a life saver. Not only can I do all the Xmas shopping done, I can also get DS1 and DS3 birthdays out the way as well!!!:yelclap: I just try to get there as soon as they open, grab a couple of trolleys and go as fast as I can!!! If you change your mind about items you can always retun them when you pick up the layby:idea:

The sale starts 6th July and in Melbourne the stores open from 7am

I've never been to a toy sale before (never needed to!) so this will be my first time but the store lady said it will be huge! :yelclap:

Not sure how long each sale is on for...but I did find out

Targets start on the 20th July

and

Myers on the 19th June?? (That doesnt seem right maybe 19th of July - I will invesitgate further :detective: )

I think the KMart sale goes for 2 weeks...

The Myer one should be in July as well since they all have their sales after the end of 30 June (financial year)

I hate crowds though :( - will have to shop early morning or late at night!!

I too Love the Sales. I dont think the one where I live In Campbelltown opens at that time. Well it never has before anyways.

Im pretty sure Campbelltowns opens at 7am

My Tip Is to go with more than one person so then they can get like one or two things and then go wait in the line. Always works for us.

Oh and on the day before or as close as possible, go check out where the stuff you want is. So you know where in the shop you need to go too.

Ok six stores in Nsw are opening at midnight they are Casula, Campbelltown, Sylvania, Penrith, Mt Druitt and 1 more but they are still deciding

How good is k-mart I went ther the other day to put a toy on lay-by when they had 15% off store wide & saw the sign about the toy sale & was worried it might be worth waiting to see if it went down in price even more & the man said don't worry if it does just bring your receipt & we'll change the price for you.:thumbsup:

hey guys.. i'm unfortunate enough to actually work at KMart and during the toy sale. thought I'd just tell you some random stuff about it.. starts July 6th, goes for two weeks. Unsure about the other states, but in Qld 8 stores open at midnight for the goodness that is toys. My store isn't one of them, they will be the really big ones on the northside like Mt Ommaney and Chermside and maybe a couple of southside like Mt Gravatt. Catalogue will be out the week before, it's shaping up to be a lot bigger than last year. Apparently a lot more new toys than we had last July (we had 200+ new ones last year). Our stock has been arriving for a while now and it starts coming in force this week.

Tips? Leave the kids at home. Please. I beg you.
If there's something you're really not sure about, just get it. You can refund it later, or if you layby it you can just return it when you pick it up.
Most stores in QLD open at 8am I think. Maybe 7am. It'll be on the website (www.kmart.com.au) the on the Monday night.
As to going in the day before - give it a shot. The stores in my region won't have the majority of toys on display. We'll be at work till midnight Wednesday and we start work at 5am on the Thursday to get preset displays out. Or we'll be wrapping everything in black plastic again if we do have things out early.

Oh, and be prepared for a long wait for layby, registers or staff to help you. We have all the staff we can have working! It's well planned, we have a whole book detailing procedures and whatnot. Layby wait - be prepared for a good hour or more. Floor staff - it's school holidays this year so every competent casual staff member will be rostered on. Registers - No doubt every single one will be open, but there will still be huge waits.

Get there early! The crowd was huge last year when we opened the doors..
ANd my last piece of advice? Don't be angry at the staff when something is sold out. We get crazy amounts of stock in, I'm talking hundreds of some things that are heavily discounted. And they sell out because everyone who wants one gets in fast and buys up.

the next Kmart toy sale starts 5th July and the kmart near me opens at 7am, so may be similiar circumstances to that post from last year! i will be there!!!!!!!! :smiliedance:
