I am 39. Had severe endo removed 2 years ago. Have been trying naturally since with no luck. What are my chances of falling preg naturally? What are my chances of falling pre with AC? DH doesn't want to see fertility specialist yet, he wants to leave it to fate for a bit longer. Can you help? Thanking you, MM

If it were me I would be booking into my nearest IVF clinic because you really dont have time on your side. IVF will also ensure that the fertility issues are not on your DH side. From making an appointment to see an IVF specialist, all the mandatory testing and counseling sessions to actually starting a cycle can take months so even if you got a refferal and made an appointment now you will still have a few months to keep trying naturally. If you are in Melbourne I highly recommend Prof Healy at Monash IVF he specialises in endo. I started doing IVF at age 31 as I just got so sick of trying (although I did get pregnant using clomid between IVF cycles). Anyway that is just my opinion I am sure others will share different views and inspiring stories. Good luck :babydust2: 2 u

Hi MelodyMouse,

I think I'd be trying to convince dh too. I think there's more chance of conception naturally right after a lap for endo (a few months? maybe some of the girls on the endo boards will know), but if you hadnt conceived by 2 years, Id really be wanting to look into it.

How long does your dh want to try naturally - could you come to a compromise? Or like the PP suggests, tell him how long it takes to have all the investigations before IVF would even start.

Perhaps your GP could help you.

Good luck!

My DH was the same ....didnt want to do anything at all for ages. In the end it took 4 yrs to fall preg ....

I ended up falling preg 3 months after my lap - but FS was recommending IVF as said there was a very minimal chance that I could fall preg naturally.

Second time around I had the lap, but didnt fall preg naturally .... and eventually I could not do IVF so had to give up after 15 months.

If you have had a lap, and not fallen preg, I would definitely try and get your DH to agree to see a FS as soon as you can as you will want to get started .....
