TTC#1 after D&C

Hi All,

I had a D&C for a blighted ovum on April 7th and are TTC straight away (I'm 36 so no time to lose really!).

I have no idea what's going on with my cycle after the D&C and thought others may be experiencing this too- so I have started this thread for those in a similar position. :hugs:

Looking forward to hearing your stories and supporting you through TTC after D&C.

Hopefully we can be a little ray of :sunshine:for each other!

Firstly I'm sorry for your loss :hugs:. I have just had a miscarriage about a week after yours although I didn't require a d&c so can't offer any comment on that. But I am also ttc straight away and have no idea what is going on with my cycle either.

I had a D&C also, on the 9th of April, just a couple of days after you. Generally, AF won't return for about 4-6 weeks post m/c or D&C, so we're likely to be ovulating anytime from now in the next 2wks I guess.

They say you generally should wait for your first AF to return before TTC, but emotionally, that can sometimes be a littler easier said then done...I guess it has to do with not then knowing EDD ??

Sorry for the horrible loss.

After my D&C my Ob told me to wait at least 1 normal AF (period). I waited for that till we started timing and charting again but it took us 7 months to fall pregnant.

I had a d&c in August and by December was pregnant again. It took about 6 weeks for AF to return but hopefully things will move quickly and your AF will return to normal over the next two cycles.

The ladies in the TTC after miscarriage and loss are so supportive and I think it will definitely lift your spirits.:goodvibes: Good luck and lots and lots of :babydust2: for that :bfp: soon!!

cheezelz- Thanks for the kind wishes! I'm so pleased to hear you got pregnant again... the loss in body confidence is a bit confronting- so great to hear success stories! How is everything going? Are you still pregnant or have you given birth? :)

MamKoala- Another great story of success! :) How are you going with your pregnancy?

My GP said there wasn't any real scientific evidence either way re waiting. He's very well read, and on the ball. I understand re the dating issue- got an inkling of that throughout the early US process- where the US dated you based on size of gestational sac, etc. I figure though that if everything goes well after conception the US would work for dating.

I'm interested to see if others that are specifically TTC#1 and have had m/c want to post here.
