I am just wondering if anyone has any links on using breastmilk as a treatment against cancer?

I saw a good article a while ago (evidence based) but can't seem to find it again.

Thank you.

You could goggle "Howard Cohen" he is part of a study in America that believes breast milk daily helped put his prostate cancer into remission.

or try goggling

HAMLET, it is the acronym of the protein compound in breast milk that Lund University discovered in the 90's that apparently helps cancer cells 'commit suicide'. .....think it a Swedish study from memory, i did have it bookmarked but lost it sometime ago when my computer had a spac attack! From what i remember about the study, daily use of breast milk protein HAMLET, in the form of a cream has even rid people of warts. Apparently every cancer that researchers have used HAMLET (breast milk protein) on, has been 'cured'.

Powerful stuff tis' breast milk, love the stuff :goodvibes:

How interesting. I'd never heard of it being used as a treatment, though I did know that breastfeeding reduced the likelihood of a woman getting breast cancer.

I'm not sure exactly....

But if you have access to a journal database, try searching in the Journal of Human Lactation....

They may have an article on breastmilk and cancer.

In America at least one cancer clinic gives their patients prescriptions for breastmilk. I found that when my sister got cancer.

it wasn't too hard with google.

thanks so much everyone.... trying to convince my dad...

I hope that you do better than I did with my sister. she lasted about 1 mouthful.

you could always just put it in the milk carton in the fridge, he might not tell the difference. or tell him that it tastes different because of the changes in his body.

Wished I'd known about it when my mum got cancer. It sounds very interesting & I'd like to hear more about it too.

Apparently in some places in the States and in Europe, donor milk is being used to aid recovery in people undergoing chemotherapy...

Not as a 'cancer cure' but because of the natural anti-bodies and easy digestibility of the milk. It helps people with immune deficiencies by boosting the IgA levels and helps to balance intestinal antibodies. It is also shown that donor milk can aid in transplant patients, as recipients who have received transplants and donor milk have lower transplant rejection levels.
