View Full Version : looking for advice
Hi all,
My partner and are are in a very happy lesbian relationship and we would love to start a family. We're registered with a few different websites looking for sperm donors because we don't know anyone that can help. We just wanted to put this out there for anyone willing to offer any advice and/or help. We are new to this and would love to hear about your experience and how you did it! Please feel free to email us if you have any tips or just want to chat we are always willing to make new friends!
Hope to hear from you soon!

Goodluck!!
I know a number of couples who registered with donor websites to find a donor! We asked everyone that we knew and put it out there to a few more and having no one we started down the medical track. Just before our first appointment a couple that i knew said that they would do it.... we were incredibly lucky!
Friends and a few that are on here as well, have found donors and gotten pregnant through using a donor found through sites.
Keep looking for your donor and when you have got one... ask again about logistics!!
Hi Briony and Sam,
Goodluck on your exciting journey, I live in Adelaide but we conceived our Daughter with the help of Q.F.G in Brisbane they are fantastic and very gayfriendly, we used an unknown Australian donor, we accessed through Q.F.G.
We tried for a long time to find a known donor but after a tiringand frustrating experiences we are happy with our decision to use an unknown donor.

Welcome Sam & Briony,
Good luck on your journey may it be quick and easy.
Hi leebies and Thank you Green mum to be and Tangles.
We're registered on free sperm donations worldwide (fsdw) and have just sent out a few emails to a few donors. We've heard back from one but it's still early days.
We also went on the Yahoo message boards (http://au.messages.yahoo.com/lifestyle/pregnancy/3798/)
and sent a message out there we have a couple of offers there as well.
We haven't heard of Pink board though. will check it out!
If we don't have any luck we will be sure to contact QFG thank you Tangles for the tip.
Leebies, are you in QLD? If we have any luck we'll let you know.!
Thanks Sam and briony
Thank you 'ontheway', It's great to see and hear about families that have started and/or are growing. We can't wait to have a baby on the way, but patience is a virtue and our journey has only just begun.
We conceived with them in Feb of 2006, just before they changed the law about disclosing the i.d of donors when the child turns 18. So I think that dried up all the local donors, we were lucky that we put some of our donor into storage for later use, which we are now trying to bring down to Adelaide to start IVF.
Hi All!
Just thought I'd let you know we've found a donor! We found him throught Free Sperm Donations Worldwide (FSDW) website.
We plan to start AI in July!!!:smiliedance:
Thanks the Very excited couple!
Briony (27) Sam (23) soon to be parents!! (fingers crossed)
Good Luck guys! We hope that all goes smoothly for you in July :)
