Hi all,
My poor 5 month old DD has developed conjuncitivis! Poor little poppet.
We are bathing them in (weak) salt water at the moment, but I think they need to be seen by a doctor.
Do babies her age get antibiotic drops or will they just tell me to keep bathing them as we are? (I am loathe to go to the surgery tomorrow as it's no appointment and the wait is always aaaages... but of course I will go!)

the chemist and GP told me that the best thing to use is breastmilk to start with.
It depends how bad it has gotten though.
I would try the breastmilk too :)

Aaah ladies, I would if I could!! lol
Do you have any EBM to ship over? Unfortunately we are no longer breastfeeding... (don't shoot me down, it isn't my fault! A long and unnecessary hospital stay for a heart issue ended that for us at 8 weeks and no amount of expressing, pumping, kangaroo care, demand feeding, skin to skin sleeping, drugs, herbal remedies, lactaction cookies, milk thistle tea etc could get my milk to start again :crying:. I tried for 6 weeks after and was utterly heartbroken about it. Stupid random doctors and their wrong diagnoses.)
In any case, I used it for my son and it was fantastic, but as I say, we don't BF anymore. I don't even think I have a frozen EBM left in the back of the freezer. Bummer. I might go check though....
Aw, well I would happily donate some of mine but am pretty sure you don't live around here (nobody lives near here...)
I hope it clears up! Keep bathing it and see what happens. They say to use cows milk for swimmers eyes....not sure if you could use it on a baby for conjunctivitis though...
