YAY (not) my daughter has her first case of school sores they are so discusting, has anyone else had this problem ?
She is being treated like an alien, i know they are very infectious but the poor girl is only 4 and she is getting very upset with getting told that she has given it to other kids

cover the really bad ones with bandaids when she goes in public, r wear long sleave clothing, preferably breathable,, this seems to hide it ,but they are rotton arnt they, my son had them whe n he was four , and they were there for ages , untill i finnally got 2 coarses of antibiotics and literally smthered him in sorboline cream 4 times a day.

My son had them for a few weeks about a year ago and nothing was helping (tea tree, salt water, antibiotics, paw paw, medicated baths etc).
We were eventually put onto a topical cream called Bactroban (you need a prescription) and we would lather them with it and then cover them up. A wise Dr also told us it was from a Staph infection that lives and generates in the nose. He suggested wiping some Bactroban in DS's nostril every second night for two weeks then once a week after that.
We haven't had any since.
Good Luck ! They're yucky little things...because they spread so fast.
Yeh tell me bout it !!! she is on antibiotics now but they dont look like they are clearing yet ! but will keep my fingers crossed :fingerscrossed: , she doesnt want to miss school on thursday, and def not Friday! her kindy class has their first assembly and she has to dress up like a bear :smiliedance: and she is soooo loking forward to it ! she has been practising her song she has to sing it would be a shame if she missed it
When Ciaran had one the medical centre gp treated it as a severe burn and reported us to DoCS .... after 2 weeks the sore was covering his whole shoulder because we covered it over and the stench was HORRIBLE. He also got them all over everywhere else. When I got back to my GP (who was onb holidays) he rang and abused the medical centre and now Ciaran has a scar (after them clearing up). So whatever you do DON'T cover them unless you have to and check with the doctors as to WHAT to cover with.
It is a golden staph infection that breeds with the WRONG antibiotic ointment. There are two creams that work to clear out the infection and ONLY two when it gets to a certain stage. It is vital that you get it cleared up as quickly as you can and get the cream.
Like Ryansmum we used the Bactroban and the sore which was literally 20cm across cleared up within 4 days and the others all over started to clear also.
It is easy to laugh this off (as I always had being a preschool teacher) but having seen HOW severe it can get ... please get to a doctors.
I'm not trying to lecture, but I would hate to stay quiet on something that caused Ciaran so much grief.
