Go to your local healthfood store or the healthfood section of your supermarket, you'll find many alternatives.

There are wheat free and gluten free pastas and snacks, and alternatives to thickeners for use in cakes etc.

You can buy gluten and wheat free pasta in woolies just in the pasta aisle. Gluten free breads can be made and you can buy wheat and gluten free flour or just rice flour for other items. Dh has quite a few relatives with coeliacs and they all said the best thing they did was join the local coeliacs society so they could find all the best local places with sausages and making fresh breads etc etc

I make a great jelly slice with arnotts rice cookies used in the base too  :D

Who has recommended wheat free and gluten free?

WF & GF is really quite easy once you get into the swing of it

Most supermarkets now carry a great range of suitable foods, and so do many health food shops.

Read the labels on everything - even if it was ok last week, it doesn't mean that the ingredients haven't change - got caught by this on a while ago.

Good luck

mm vegie chips.. yummy :D they are gluten free and wheat free and lots of different flavours if you like. ( i stick to the plain ones for my son)
there is gf pasta, there is gf bread you can make from a packet mix or from scratch. there are a few cereals and gf flours. so you can coat chicken in that.. it tastes the same.:D

not sure about choc but i have seen gf choc but i always though choc itself what part could have gluten:confused:

but as wcm said look at the labels. and make sure its gluten free.

we have to be very sure for my son. as gluten upsets his stomach and gut even more now if it accendently gets there. and also his concentration is poor.

hope it goes well for you

I must say I'm astounded how well you've taken such news! And I'm really happy you've already accepted it. Alot of people I cook for with a coeliac issue actually go through a depression stage because to some people it was like losing a pet dog or something because food is soo important and now they had to change at least 1/2 their lifestyle for this change in their body. Luckily chocolate is still on the menu

Its very easy to find recipes that are gluten free and I wish you all the best with the diet and hopefully it'll work for you. :)

Thanks Boo... I think im so open about it as Im willing to try anything at all just to feel better. My health has been shocking and is getting worse and worse... if cutting out wheat/gluten works, then im willing to sacrifice things...
