Hi guyz

My clinic nurse has told me that i should give DS, 9.5months, Yakult. either 1/2 or 1 of the little bottles per day.

has anyone else been suggested to give thier little on this stuff. i gave DS some, he had a bit, it tastes sweet like BM but i started to stress that it might give him a belly ache of something so i stopped

Thanks

Tamz

I was only thinking this the other day as I love it and wondering if bubby can have it (9.5 months), it's supposedly good bacteria so can't see why not although it is sugary tasting...hang will have a look whats in it....fructose,glucose...um yoghurt flavour lol...maybe just keep giving yoghurt:confused: Lucas loves mango:D

I gave this to my 7 year old and it used to give him pains in the belly and runny poos.
I dont know if it was cleaning him out of doing him harm. I would only start him on half a bottle every few days!

Why not just give him/her a yoghurt with live cultures and no sugar - I think Jalna and Vaalia are the only ones on the market though. And I think all the Vaalia ones are low fat except the actual baby ones - so Jalna it is in our house - you can also buy it in 500ml and 1l tubs - so saves a bit of money.

We have been giving DD yakult for a while now - since she was about 1 yr old. I just mix it in with her milk in the morning - she loves it.

It was recommended to me by our GP to help manage her eczema ... we started doing the yakult along with using QV creams and it is in much better control than prior to this.

i agree - jalna & vaalia are 2 of the best yoghurts.
there's also an organic yoghurt u can get at coles, too.
& i've also seen ones for babies (various brands) on the market, but not sure how good these are - i haven't looked at the list of ingredients for myself

We stopped giving our ds yakult when he started having tanties at the fridge when he couldn't get it on demand. (after only 2 mths of drinking it at 18mths of age) I figured he was addicted to the sugar in it. Sure glad we cut it out, it was getting out of hand.
