Hey,

we are staying with my parents for 6 weeks as my hubby is doing some training for his work.

The problem is that 5.5mth old ds is sleeping in my room in a portacot and is now waking all the time.

He is on solids and eating a lot so hunger is not an issue imo.

But is suspect that he is habitually waking cos he knows I am in the same room.

As ds1 is in room nearby and in a strange place he is a little more wakeful than usual, so I can't let ds2 grizzle for long without the fear that his older brother will wake up.

I know many will just say to feed him, but one day last week he fed 4 times in 7 hours and I was a wreck. He has gone from sleeping a 6-7 hour stretch at night to having very short stretches of sleep at night.

Please send me your tips for settling without too much crying and very little feeding!

Had similar issues when visiting family. Decided the portacot was the issue (creaked etc when DD moved) and ended up co-sleeping. DD fed a bit more than when at home but at least I wasn't getting up. Not sure if this helps.

WAH, it may just be a developmental thing- it was about 5/ 5 and a half months when the boys suddenly wanted more feeds at night again. Well, I say they wanted more feeds- actually they were more wakeful, and I just fed them because it was the easiest way to get them back to sleep.

They are 27 weeks today (6 months, 1wk) and things are only just starting to settle again. ONLY JUST
