Hi, I thought I'd share our experience as it may be of interest to others.

I've always had sensitive skin with eczema, reactions to plants/grass, and the like. During pregnancy it got really bad (at about 8wks) and continued right the way through despite the dermatologist giving me the strongest cream he could.

Was reading up in my baby book that I'd got in preparation for our new arrival (The baby book by Sears) and out of the 690 odd pages there was about 3 sentences about having seen results with eczema and other skin conditions when flaxseed oil is added to the diet. The recommendation was 1tsp/day if breastfeeding - bub will get it thought your milk. I was skeptical but after DD arrived and her skin started to show early signs of skin irritation I decided to give it a go. After about 3 days my skin irritations that had been ongoing for the past 7mth receeded and DD has had no ongoing issues excepting the occasional cradle cap and nappy rash.

Coincidence? maybe, I'm the first to acknowldge that maybe my solution was no longer being pregnant, and its impossible to know what would have happened with DD if I didn't have it. But I decided it wouldn't do any harm so was worth a try.

Thanks for sharing.When BF'ing DD who suffers with excema as part of the milk protein intolerance we saw a dietitian to figure out triggers in my Milk etc and eliminated them. Then she recomended flaxseed at that does.I noticed that her skin was healing faster and secondary infections were a thing of the past.Pity it tasted like crud:barf:.Now DD is on 1 bf and ricemilk with calcium sups and her skin is beautiful:)

Agree the taste is a bit :eek: if you have it neat!! The best way I found to have it is make a banana smoothie (who could resist that) - and I make it with soy or rick milk to avoid the dairy - and add it to that. :chef:

I used it with balsamic vinegar as a dressing to disguise it
