Just wondering for everyone trying to conceive, during the days before during and after ovulation how many times do you have sex?

For instance if you ovulate on the Sunday would you have sex everyday from say Friday to tuesday??

I am just wondering what everyone else does. I have a friend who used maybe baby and they had sex twice a day for about six days which just seems insane to me!! They did however conceive first try for both of there pregnancys........

We did it everyday for two weeks, the week before O and the week after, I know it seems extreme but I got my :bfp: on the third month :) Good Luck

Hi There - I'm also TTC #1.

We managed to fall pregnant in our first cycle off the pill. I wasn't sure of when I'd O since it was my first cycle off the pill, so we did the horizontal mambo everyday for a week around Day 14.

Somehow we managed to time it properly and got pregnant first go - unfortunately bubba didn't stick, so we're back to trying again.

I have heard of people doing it every 2nd day for the whole month. I guess you just need to work out what's best for you. Some men feel like a piece of meat when you just want to do it every day in the middle of the month, so you should discuss it with your partner also to figure out what will work best for both of you.

Sorry I know that's a bit of a round about response and I've blabbed on, but hope it's helped at least a little.

You have a small window of time each month to get pregnant.

During ovulation the egg can survive approximately 24 hours.

Sperm can live for up to 3-5 days. So having sex 2-3 days before ovulation can increase your chances of getting pregnant.

Don’t wait until the day you ovulate to have sex.

Sperm will last longer than your egg and you don’t want to miss out by waiting!

If your partner has no issues with sperm count etc then you can try every day for a few days but it does take 2-3 days for sperm to regenerate so often they say every second day during your window, or of the week you ovulate, to allow sperm regeneration. My hubby had a great test and they still said every two days if preferable but really it is what works for you. We did every second day as we were too tired for every day lol

We did it every 2 days from when AF stopped. Then i used an ovulation kit so i knew that i was going to O so we did it 3 days in a row and stopped. It worked cos im now 22 weeks pregnant.

I had purchased an OPK test the month before only because my periods are very irregular (once every 2-3 months) so I only bought it to see if I was actually ovulating. One day at work I felt like AF was about to start but it didn't so I thought, what the heck i'll test if i'm ovulating, and I was. When DP and I got home that night we BD and same with the day after... And nearly everyday (Although we weren't TTC, we wanted to be "If it happens, it happens"). And 3 weeks later I got a BFP, unfortunately it didn't stick and I had a m/c a few days ago :(
Heartbroken, but we are still unconciously TTC. If that makes sense :)
