I have been told that some ppl lose weight and tone differently to others....

i am at a gym that runs healthy eating and weight loss programs (I was only going to that cause it was closest to work... you dont have to participate in these programs but they are the main focus).... and was really worried that even though I wasnt loosing weight (in fact gaining cause i was gaining muscle) that my face was becoming really drawn and gaunt - my cheekbones were really sticking out.....

I was in a healthy weight range, ate the right foods and exercised regularly - but the first place my body attacked when it tones/looses weight is my face... which sucks as my face looks really thin... slightly out of proportion to the rest of my body...

although this has changed since i became pregnant and my face has chubbed out.... well enough to not look so gaunt anymore...

sorry not actually much help there... just in the same boat!!

Em

I know people say to stay away from carbs but whole grains (brown rice, wholegrain bread, oats etc) are good for you. Eating more protein (meat, nuts and legumes) will help maintain muscle tone if you're exercising.
As long as you are eating properly and have a varied diet you should be able to maintain your weight and exercising will keep you toned. It's okay to be a couple of kilo's heavier (*gasp* yea I said it) because if it's muscle the scale is going to tell you you are heavier but you'll be lean and wont look so 'gaunt' as you put it.
I used to obsess about my weight all the time but I found that as long as I was eating right and exercising I felt really good and even though the wicked scale said I was 57kgs, I looked healthy and lean so decided that it was my measurements and not my weight that mattered.
Maybe you could go to the gym and ask to speak to a trainer, speak to a nutritionist and read up about healthy eating and body fitness and you wont be too worried about what happens afterward.

Don't let what people say get to you unless they are expressing a concern for you health. If they're saying 'you're too thin' just to say it and not saying it out of genuine concern about your lifestyle and health then ignore them.

I can't really see a way for you to 'plump' up your face alone as it doesn't usually work that way but if you're fit and healthy I'm sure you're just fine the way you are.
