Okay DH is coming home sometime today and well I was going to cook him a roast chook. I have never cooked a roast chook, I am afraid its still going to be pink in the middle.
Just another option should I cook it in the slow cooker or in the oven? How long for?
And any other tips please.

Pre heat oven to 180degrees (170 if fan forced)
Wash and pat chook dry, put in an oven dish. Spray with a little oil if you like. Then sprinkle some herbs if you wish eg, rosemary, sage or thyme or some lemon rind, even a couple of garlic cloves in the cavity.
Then cook for 1/2 hour per 500 grams of chook. Baste with oil every 1/2 hour or so.
Its cooked when you can wiggle the leg freely, or pierce the thickest part of the thigh with a skewer, the juices should be clear. I always check the chook 1/2 hour early in case its already done. Coever in foil and allow to rest at least for 15 mnutes. YUM!

Never done it in the slow cooker  Google it? I've done it in the oven though, just make sure you thoroughly wash out the cavity
Its a lot easier than it seems!!

Me neither Luka and we're not dead yet! I hold it up so it can drain but that's as good as it gets.
I do mine in the slow cooker. We have the dodgiest oven ever so slow cooker it is for us.
