Hey Hey!

DP has agreed to do a sperm test.

The last time I was at the docs to get my pelvic ultrasound results, she gave me a number to call about doing the test.

I've since lost that number  and don't really want to go back just to ask for it. I will if I have to though.

Can someone point me in the right direction in regards to getting it done?

Thanks!

You need to get a pathology form to have it done, which you would need to get from your GP to take it to one of the pathology places. Your DP will need to abstain for min 3 max 5 days to get best results. The jar needs to be at the pathology place by a certain time of the day and generally within an hour of your partner doing the sample, so it takes a bit of planning! Goodluck!

Thanks crafty!

My doc didn't say anything about a form? She just gave me 2 different numbers to call.

To be honest, I'm not very happy with that doctor and want to find a new one. She didn't even look at my pelvic ultrasound photos. She just read the peice of paper and said I was fine

I'm aware of what needs to be done, but unfortunately DP didn't at first. He thought he had to pee in a cup . I was like "are you serious?!?!?".

He knows now ;)

LOL, yeah I would be surprised if you could just ring somewhere and not have to have a referral or pathology form. Its pretty stressful for the guys, so if they find any abnormality with the first one they get them to repeat it just to make sure it wasnt a stage fright issue! Sounds like you need a new doc, altho all my specialists have done is just look at the summary of the ultrasoudns not the pics.

I wish you all the luck!

DEF get a new GP Babydreaming. :hugs: You will need a referal form to hand in with the sample.

Poor Chris went to hand his in and the pathology place had changed and no longer accepted them. so he is standing in the waiting room while the lady is Screaming out back, "WHERE DO WE SEND THE SPERM??!!"
:o for him,:laughing: for me!

I found the number the doc gave me.

I google searched the number and it's for Westmead Fertility Center. Is that right?

The website provided on the listing is for ivf?

Is this the right place?

The IVF labs definately do a better testing on the swimmers than your usual pathology places. They tests more things with it. Costs a lot more, I think ours was around $200 to have done through Monash IVF. But worth it. Goodluck!
