Can someone give me some guidance please?

Cameron doesn't have a wind/colic problem.... I saw a thread earlier asking if being blue around the mouth means that there is wind and I think it is true. Cameron DOES get blue around the mouth, but doesn't seem to have any problems farting or burping. You might see him strain a little sometimes, but it doesn't seem to be causing him any grief whatsoever.

My problem is that last night, about 40 mins after I put him to bed, he woke screaming and crying. Was pretty upset. I thought he had a nightmare and it took me about an hour to resettle him. But then another hour later he woke again, crying and screaming. Each time, he would arch his back and scream. I eventually managed to resettle him but then he woke yet again around midnight.

There were two other issues (i think) which made it harder to resettle him - itchiness from the eczema around his neck, and the heat (being in Cairns) especially with the body heat from me having to comfort him. These two issue alone wouldn't normally result in an hour to resettle so that's why I know that it was something else.

Just before 1am he managed to let out a couple of big farts. I then stood by an open window as he was really really hot and continued to comfort him. Not long after, he fell asleep and slept through until about 4:30am for his feed. At 4:30am he was not upset like the earlier wakings.

He hadn't done a poo in two days and then this morning, he did a biiiiiiig poo. Was it wind????? How else would I be able to tell? He's on three solids a day and is still breastfed. The only change in his diet is that I've started giving him some fresh watermelon.....

Hi,

When my bubs was smaller he used to go blue around the mouth with wind...
try infants friend it worked for me I would give it to my son every day until it improved and now he is 5 months he doesnt have so much trouble with the wind... I am so glad he passed through that stage as it would drive me crazy cause I couldnt help him... the infants friend worked a treat though...

Good luck ...
