i am wondering if you can use Milton to sterilise Avent isis pump and parts?
Milton bottle says yes and Avent instructions say no.
Any ideas?

It's not very kind to the silicon parts.
I use a microwave steam steriliser, and it is much better - and faster, too.
I use a microwave steam steriliser but prior to that I would just boil my Isis breast pump in a pot of boiling water for 10 minutes or so. Personally I am not into using Milton, as its too chemically IFKWIM?
like what the other girls have said , no you cant. the warrenty will be voided aswell if you use it in Milton.
i used milton for sterelizing bottles when i had to give DS some formula in the early weeks. it stinks sooooo bad!!!
i would invest in a microwave sterelizer, its well worth your money!!!
:)
Milton disinfects but doesn't steralise. <------- advice from CHN

I would just go with the boil-for-5-minutes or the microwave steam steriliser, too. Or, if you have a dishwasher, just put it in there, and when it comes out it's ready to go! No need to do anything else to it (the steam and hot rinse do the sterilising for you). Plus, because it's breastmilk that is "contaminating" the pump, it's not as earth-shatteringly-vital to sterilise it anyway. (Someone correct me if I'm horribly wrong) As long as you give it a good wash and scrub in very hot soapy water and then rinse with very hot water and leave it to air dry.

Everything the_queen said.
Recent studies on dishwashers has shown that items straight out of a normal wash cycle in a dishwasher are completely sterile - because the water gets hot enough, for long enough, to kill all bacteria off.
As long as you don't let your breastpump sit around for days dirty - its fine just to rinse off in hot soapy water and then use. But if (like me) you're a bit anal about sterilisation (at least until she was 6 months - then she just put everything in her mouth anyway, so it was pointless) - invest in a microwave steam steriliser - you just rinse everything, pop it in the unit, zap it for a couple of minutes and you're right to go. Couldn't be easier. You can buy them from target for about $25.

you dont need to sterilise, just wash all parts in hot soapy water and rinse with hot hot water. i was only told this after buying milton and a steam steriliser.
milton stinks anyways

Hi, I have one of those....you put a little water in the middle 'trough' in the bottom, nuke it for 4 mins, then leave to sit (lid closed) for 2 mins. TIP: Open facing AWAY from you as the steam is HOT!
