Hello everyone,
I just wanted to say thank-you to all that responded to my threads & let everyone know that it has already made a huge difference to my self-esteem & belief in my decision.
Some of my family members are trying to be supportive, but because I am the youngest of three (both of which are married with 2 kids each) I guess their expectations of me were a little higher than I imagined. My mum & sister are trying to be there but are still quite anxious about me 'doing in on my own' I think they thought what I did for many years - & that was, that I'd have the fairytale wedding/house/life etc & that isn't the way it is going to be.
My bestfriend of 11 years has been great toward me, but she lives in Brisbane & isn't close enough for me to just drop over for a cuppa & chat. She also had a recent termination (two months ago) so her reactions (understandably) are a little different to what I had anticipated.
Anyhow, I have my second ultrasound (12 week) today at 11:00am and just hope that everything is going to be ok with the health of the baby & me.
I will be sure to let you all know how it all goes. By the way I have had all day sickness since day one, frequently go to the loo, cry at the drop of a hat, can't make up my mind what I feel like eating & already have put on 3 kilos !!
But it feels awesome to know I am going to be a mummy !
Take care everyone,
Hugs & smiles from Kristy 25 (12 weeks preggas) ! :)

Hello to all the fantastic mummy's who have so generously opened their hearts to a whinging stranger like me hahahahaha.
The scan went extremely well & I am actually further along than i had originally thought (13 weeks this Sat). Also to my surprise I received a late night call from the father of the baby asking to be present today at the ultrasound.
So I had him, my mum & my best friend of 11 years all there with me.
I guess I am not as alone as I thought I was.
In that case I am seriously considering changing my log in name here on bub hub
The baby was really active & i was amazed at how clear i could see him, 2 arms, 2 legs, fingers, head, spine & all !!!! Heartbeat was strong & everything was normal.
My first visit to the ante-natal clinic at the hospital is on Monday.
Can anyone offer some info as to what exactley happens on the first visit ??
Thanks again to everyones support, today has truly been one of the best days of my entire life. I felt a huge bonding with my baby & I haven't been able to stop smiling. Life just couldn't get any better !!!!!!!!!
Regards from (over the moon) Kristy.........
Congratulations Kristy! Maybe babies bring out the best in everyone!! :)

Kristy,
That is fantastic news. Seeing your bub for the first time is an amazing feeling. I'm so glad you had support there with you. On your first visit they will ask you questions about how you are feeling and take your weight and blood pressure and general health stuff. It is so normal to feel like crying at the drop of a hat we all went through it. I'm sorry about the morning sickness, it's horrible. I found eating a couple of crackers the plain ones not salted or anything, that only made it worst, first thing in the morning really helped. I discovered this after throwing up in the shower a couple of times. If I had them on the way to the shower I could get through it okay. I made sure that I nibbled on them all day to keep something in my tummy this also helped.
Keep us up to date on how you are doing okay.
((((((((((((((((((hug)))))))))))))))))))))))) to you from Harry

I am so happy that it all went well today and that your little one had a big audience ;) Babies certainly bring people together. I'm sure it will get better and better for you.

Sounds like the US went really well I LOVED :D :D :D all of mine because it makes it "REAL" if that makes sense?? Anyway, I also loved just my check ups where you get to hear the heartbeat (esp before you can feel movement...its the only thing - besides getting fatter....that confirms there is a baby in there!!! :p ) Looking forward to further updates...its seems like we're all a part of this now, doesn't it???

Hello everyone & thanks again for all your words of support !
Just wanted to say a quick hello as I haven't posted for a while & I have my first visit to the ante-natal clinic at the GC Hospital today.
I am in desparate need of joining some type of exercise group, whether it be swimming, yoga or just walking. I find if I leave it up to myself I always find an excuse.....!
I still think all the Gold Coast Gals need to pull their fingers out (hahahahaha) & organise a get together....!!
Will let u all know how today goes.
Take care & be well everyone. Hugs & smiles from Kristy.....(absolutely ecstatic to be pregnant).
Hi Kristy,
You sound so energetic and happy! The weather is so nice here on the GC that there really isn't any excuse not to get out is there? I'm hoping to have some more energy in the next week or two, because I'll finally be in the 2nd trimester. Yay.
Can't wait for my 12wk U/S which is on Wednesday. Bit scary, but I'm sure it will be fine, I'm just a worry wart.
Well, I'm so glad that things are looking up for you. It's now time to relax and get fat and happy :)
Take care,
Kerry

Hello Girls !! Hope you are all well & enjoying your pregnancies as I am trying to do.
Just wanted to let you all know that all is well with me & bubby, our first visit to the ante-natal clinic was really good except for the 3.5 hours I was there for !
I am 13 weeks & two days pregnant today & my due date is the 19.04.2005. I am so hoping for a boy because I remember what I was like as a teenage girl hahaha!
The father of the baby has finally accepted his responsibilities & has vowed to be an attentive & loving dad.
Apart from the all day sickness (which is only just starting to subside) & the uncomfortable aching in my lower back & all down my left side of my body (only happens at night when I am trying to sleep) everything is good.
Take care Girls, hope to chat again soon.....Kristy. ;)
