conceiving a baby girl

I have 3 sons and would like any advice on how maybe to have a baby girl:smiliedance: This will be my last go at it and both my DH and 3 sons would love to have a little girl to add to our family:fingerscrossed: thanks heaps:hugs:

Theres heaps of books you can get from the library/book stores on how to help concieve a certain gender.

I have been told to concieve a girl you need to have sex everyday until three days before you ovulate and then stop having sex.

They say that the boy sperm are faster swimmers, the girls are slower but live longer

so if you stop having sex three days prior to ovulation its supposed to increase the likelyhood of the boy sperm dieing off and the girl sperm having access to the eggs or so ive heard:D

I would like to try this out for our next bub coz I would love a little girl:yes: But I have an intuition that I will have a girl next time no matter when I have sex........Im psychic:laughing:

Hi, we actively tried to concieve our daughter. Obviously it worked, either that or it was just great luck.

It is true, boy sperm swim faster but die quicker. Girl sperm swim slower and live longer (slow and steady wins the race). What you have to do is really pay attention to your cycle. BD up until about 2 days before O then abstain or use condoms :) It will take you longer to concieve this way instead of just bding when ever or trying to catch that egg.

There are some ovulation predictor software sites out there. This is what I used, you could actually put your dates into it and if you were a subscribed member you also had the option of gender selection.

Hi mum of three sons,
I also wanted a baby girl after having 3 boys and loky I got one.
It all came down to timing for us.
Male sperm cant live very long in female body, they swim very quick and wear them selves out.
So you need to have BD 3-4 days before ovulation so the boy sperm are all dead.:laughing:
It woked for us and my hubby works away in the mines, so we must be good. LOL

I've emailed a copy of the Crystal Ball gender selector from a magazine.

Most of the ppl I know who have worked it back, have confirmed that it's pretty accurate in predicting the gender of the child. Well, it's worked two out of two (100%) for me!!!

hi :wave: i have 3 boys and would love a little girl too. we tried the whole timing thing too with our last little boy but did not work (obviously lol) .... we had a 6 day gap so im quite confused on why it didnt work for us. maybe it was just meant to be. any help or ideas with our next one to be pink would be greatly appreciated :yes:

I have done this! And it definitely worked.

To have a girl you need to "try" every day from when you period ends, then stop "trying" on day 13 of your cycle. Don't "try" again for at least one more week.

For a boy, you have to "try" on the day that you ovulate. You must use condoms on the other days that you "try" during your cycle.

heyas well maybe my bod is just weird coz i can pretty much guarantee i was having sex with hubby nearly every day during ovulating with both girls. and still had girls :D
maybe i am opposite to everyone else :laughing:

We have just tried for a boy and our girl was a suprise but I know of a number of methods including some old wives tales:

1) Monitor your ovulation (The Billings method is good) so that you know when your fertile phase begins (the average woman can be fertile for 6 days with ovulation not occuring until last day)..for a girl they recommend to have sex evry day until until 2 days before ovulation.

2) Sexual position: just missionary

3) No orgasm (bl#*y typical)

4) Eat sweet things as this makes a more acidic environment ( alkaline is better for mobility of boy sperm)

Don't know how many are true but if you try them all you never know one might work.

We were told by a friend that the way she got her little girl was to BD every day, so we thought that we would give it ago because we got sick of trying to figure out my cycle, and what do you know, the month that we tried it we fell pregnant and now we have a 10 week old DD ! ! !:yelclap: :smiliedance: SO it worked for us, but it could have also just been luck.

We used the book "how to choose the sex of your baby" by Dr Shettles, for our little girl. I was doubtful but thought we'd give it a try. If you do it "BY THE BOOK" it worked for us, we had our baby girl and the first girl in My DP's family in 6 generations!

Buy it, it worked for us, but be patient, it can take a while to get preg when trying for a girl! It's all owrth it in the end though!!

For the people who bd'd every day through their ovulation and ended up with girls - most likely because you would have already conceived your baby girls before the time to conceive a boy.

I also bought the Shettles and Rorvik "How to choose the sex of your baby" to try for a girl and our ob has told us that we have a girl.

Will let you know how right it all is in about 2 & a half weeks!!!;)
