View Full Version : Things from your childhood/babyhood
I just wrapped Dd up in my bubby blanket (from when I was a bubba):bee:..It was knitted by either my Mother or my Aunt, and I loved it when I was a little person. I have been waiting since when she was born to use it, and finally it is cold enough, and she is big enough not to suffocate under it.:smiliedance:
I was wondering what things other hubbers use from their childhoods with their LOs?

LOL (can i post? :D i have a whole cupboard full of stuff).
Besides the obvious books and toys (half of which date back to when MY parents were kids ), i have several boxes of clothes mum liked best. Plus another box or two of my 'favourite dresses'. Oh, plus i still have the sling i was carried around in (that was then passed around to all mums friends, so quite a few kids have grown up in it.)
Hmm sounds kind of boring really.
But i haven't thrown any of my childhood toys out :detective: so there are a LOT of toys...and even more books
I have about a dozen dresses from when I was a baby as well as photos of me in them all. I want to get a photo of DD in each and pass them down to her. I have quite a few other things, outfits and blankets mum knitted, porcelain doll and DD also plays with my well loved doll that I had while growing up. It's so lovely to be able to have these things.

Unfortunately i don't have anything from my childhood, however bub has lots of DH's old stuff.
She has his bunny, heaps of old books, blankets and she uses his highchair when she visits granny and granddad.
My MIL is a hoarder :D
Aw Mimigrace, you're a forward thinker:thumbsup:. I would be lost without my Mother stashing things...
Just like I have boxes of Dd's stuff for the next one..if that ever happens...or when she has children.
We have loads of books as well guys..I never thought of those. Aw...this thread is making me all warm and fuzzy all over again:cloud9:

I dont' have a lot - and some of it I'm not willing to share :p
I have my teddy (MINE! :p) and my old blanky that's falling to pieces. There are some toys, and when the kids are a little bit older and able to appreciate it, I have all of my toy dolls and their clothes from when I was little :goodvibes:
A crocheted blanket blue and white made by my Nan Nan (great grandmother).
Love it!
