3 months ago I rang centrelink and organised the immunisation allowance. All was good, they said it was all sorted etc. :ecomcity: anyway I forgot about the payment until today when I got another letter saying I am elegible for the payment etc. but dd's vax details aren't up to date. To this day she is fully vaccinated so I rang the register, and turns out they have up until her 6 month shots and thats it  my mchn/s didn't pass on the details! Was I meant to?
Oh and to top it off both of the mchns I see are closed until 23rd april

sorry if this isn't a controversial vax thread  I'm just wondering what I am meant to do, was I supposed to pass on the details or something

No its their job to do so but sadly many are lacking in regards to this !

I know the first doctors we got Boof vaxxed at was happy to bombard us with letters saying he wasnt up to date etc but never let the register know

As soon as we changed to the council clinics we had no issues at all.

All I had to do was take the book into Centrelink & they updated their records !

So if I take the blue book into centrelink they should be able to do it for me? I don't want to have to wait until the 23rd (not that I am desperate for the payment, hell I'd forgotten about it till just now)

This happened to us with DS1. We also got a letter from his daycare centre asking why he wasnt up to date.
Were in the country so maybe a little different but here midwifes run the free clinic once a month so i called the hospital and they sorted it out for me, sent off the paper work to the right places, and i got my payment about a week later.
I just showed my blue book to the daycare centre, they know us so was never a big deal!

Does your birth book have the little stickers from the vaxx in or the numbers from the vaxx bottle? (i am in QLD and they write the numbers in the birth book), you could have a GP verify it to the CIR ( or whatever the register place is called) shouldn't be any drama they could copy it and fax it off.

Yep take it into Family Assistance & they will copy it there & then !

The longest part is queuing in Centrelink

I would go to Medicare as they have a family assistance office in there and it is much easier and quicker than going into centrelink:yes:

Ours was paid automatically so your MCHN is slack.. I didn't realise they did the shots? We did got to a GP until recently and now have switched to a immunisation clinic which is much better. I don't like the council run one's.

Thanks for the advice :)

I have always gone to mchn's for her needles ever since her 8 week needles at the drs, they were soooo rough and just jabbed 3 needles in all at once and I just didn't like the way they handled it, I prefer to go to someone who deals with babies and only babies day in day out.
