I am only at four and a half weeks and although I had two positive (faint line) tests at home, the one the doctor did was negative indicating that the hcg levels have fallen to the extent that the pregnancy is not continuing. This is the second time that this has happened to me although I have had a successful full term pregnancy in between. It is so sad though. Just wanted to post this message in the hope that at some stage someone else may read it and tell me their story. It is only four and a half weeks but that is long enough to have hopes and dreams for a baby and I now need to deal with all of that. :(

I'm so sorry to hear what happened to you. But you have to keep believing that these things happen for a reason. Have you had your period yet or is there still a little bit of hope that maybe the Dr's test was wrong?
Please keep us posted on how you go. Also have you joined the TTC threads? There is so many women there that are great at supporting you.
Hope to hear from you again soon.

Oh I hope that all is not lost. Some pregnancy tests tend to pick up the result better than others. I've found the ones that some Dr's use aren't as reliable as the ones that you can get over the counter these days. If you're that concerned, ask for a blood test. It may be really really early.

Thank you for your responses and support. I am waiting until this afternoon for the blood test result but I think it is pretty much a forgone conclusion. I know what my dates are to within a couple of days because I have been taking clomid. I would imagine that if I really was still pregnant at this stage, any test would detect it. I do believe that things happen for the best and everything is in perspective for me now as our mother in law rang last night to see if we noticed the death notice in the paper for the still born child of a couple my husband used to work with. Will go to the ttc forum, thanks for the advice.

I wish you all the best in your results. It does not matter that it was only just over 4 weeks, a pregnancy is a pregnancy and we all get affected regardless of the time that (we) are/were pregnant.
Big hugs and I hope you fall again soon if the results are not good.
