Hi Everyone
There have been threads on IVF success stories and how many fets before successful etc. and I just thought it would be great to hear others experiences of IUI or AI, why you needed it and how many times and how long it took (just to give my some hope and inspiration) and I'm just wondering how common it is?
At the moment I'm waiting to do my second IUI. I'm on Puregon injections and having blood tests to see when I'm ovulating. I'm feeling a bit disheartened at the moment even though we have had only one failed IUI. The thing is we only have 3 goes before we have to move on to IVF. We are using DH frozen sperm and only have a limited number of straws for IUI and the rest is for IVF (DH has a zero sperm count as result of chemotherapy) and for other children becuase we want to get a family out of this not just one child. We are willing to do what ever it takes but IVF is so much more expensive and I don't know if I could cope with the emotional side of it as IUI is taking alot out of me already..:(
Thanx for reading I can't wait to hear your replys (if anyone has done it)

Hi.
We started trying for Brooke on our honeymoon 2001  anyway, after many tests we were diagnosed as unexplained infertility  so we got sent to Dr De Ambrosis at QFG and never looked back. He pretty much told me straight up I needed help in ovulating as Hubbie had swimmers in there that could win a gold medal
We signed up for AIH(IUI) took all the injections , did all the 6am early starts at the clinic and DID not expect 1st go to WORK .. sadly miscarried at 9 weeks and had to have a D&C , I had a Blighted Ovum. We took 3 months off and trotted back .. 2nd IUI didn't work .. and then 3rd IUI worked and we now have BROOKE! My beautiful baby girl.
My Dr put me on Q10 for cell development after my blighted ovum and lots of B-Vitamins.
GOODLUCK! We plan on doing it all again if we don't create a miracle ourselves. I'm allready popping Q10 and B-vitamins now.
Happy to answer any other questions .. I was also taking 25mg of Clomid each cycle. Any more then 25mg ( like 50mg ) I would produce like 6-8 eggs
The cycle I fell with Brooke I had 1 really good egg ( Brooke ) and 2 smaller egss.

Hi all,
I am expecting our first bub and he/she took us 5 years to conceive!
Here's our story in short... we started trying on and off since 2001. A couple of times I mentioned it to my doctor who would always say "try another 6 months". Eventually we moved interstate so stopped trying for a few months during the move. I then went to a new doctor at the end of 2004 and insisted on having some tests done. We were referred to Reproductive Services through Melbourne IVF at the Royal Women's hospital. They did lots of routine tests on me and I was found to be fine, so they tested my hubby and discovered he has a chromosone condition and is infertile. So we needed donor sperm if we were to fall pregnant. We selected an annonymous donor and I had 3 insemination cycles using my natural ovulating cycle (no drugs) and it was successful on the third try. We feel very lucky as our path was a relatively easy once we knew where we stood.
Good luck to everyone who is following this course of treatment, it definitely does work!
