So both my boys have thrush :( I have an antifungal cream from the chemist and I have been using disposys because I am worried about the cream effecting the cloth nappies. I use GK's so both boys share the same nappies (obviously I am washing them- cold rinse, hot wash with some antibacterial rinse and drying in full sun). I am just wondering if the cream would actually effect the nappies at all? it dosnt mention a zinc base at all...but Im not sure

Any ideas?

I have done a load of nappies with the antibacterial rinse, should I wash my other "clean" nappies in the antibacterial rinse before using them? What about my cloth wipes too?

TIA

i have been thru this and when i finally did work out how to deal with it , it was the best thing in the world!

wash all the nappies in the antibacterial rinse - i use canistan stuff - then resume putting the nappies back on the boys, if you need to use a cream use disposable liners, but i found after they were all washed in the rinse and i continued to use the rinse untill all cleared up, that it went away rather quickly - you have to get the bug out of the nappies in order to stop reinfection! (took a few episodes of thrush to work this one out!)

now i just use the rinse every second week just to make sure. ( so all the nappies i wash that week i use the rinse - to make all th enappies get the rinse! - as i only have enough nappies to last 2 days this is easy to keep track of!)

oh and since then i we have been thrush free!

I was also going to suggest disposable liners.

Any kind are fine, you can buy the flushable kind or the thicker throw-away kind from woolies.
