Hi,
I've never been on one of these sites before so i'm not sure how it works but I'm about to start taking clomid in the next few days (hopefully... if i get my period) and am a bit nervous. I dont know anyone else who has taken it or is going though this sort of thing. so if anyone out there can give me any advise or info from a practical veiw point and not from a medical site it would be great:)

I was on it after ttc dd2 for 6 months,i found out i was not ovulating at all.

So i was on clomid for 2 cycles and i fell preg.

I didn't really notice many side effects other than headaches and very painful ovulation.Everything else was ok,i felt good & it worked and i now have my miracle bub who's 5 months old.

Hi

There are some side effects some people really notice them and others dont. I get the headaches, hot flushes and dizziness oh and ovaries can get achy but its not to bad considering what the outcome may be. The best advice I was given is take clomid before bed that way you sleep off most side effects. There is a clomid support thread under fertility treatments which is fantastic, come across and join in .

Whitto, Welcome.. There are plenty of us here that share your experience.

I too have just started Clomid 50mg, I was excited to start it because it gives me hope that I might just ovulate, rather than waiting for my body to take it's sweet time.... I had to have a blood test on Day 21 to check if I had ovulated, it didn't happen this time sadly, but onward and upward !!

Your Doc would have told you what day of your cycle to start taking it and then for a total of five days. If your period is super irreg. like mine, you could maybe take a short course pill, eg Provera to bring on a "period" and start your Clomid from there. Some Docs may want to test your response by blood test or scan. I tolerated it really well, I was a bit teary/cranky on Provera, but maybe I was just feral that week, ha ha ??

There's an increased chance of multiple birth, but hopefully your Doc explained all the risks and benefits.....

Good luck, keep us posted

i was diagnosed with pcos when i was 17 as i never got my period, i am nearly 23 now, and am about to start my second round of clomid, just as soon as provera gives me my period, i swear this is the only time ive ever looked forward to it, as different forms of the pill normally made it really painful and irregular. i was on 1/2 a clomid for the first cycle and am now going to take 1 tablet. i dont know what to do to stop feeling anxious. on my first cycle on clomid, i was getting all the common symptoms for ovulation and even thought i was starting to get the early pregnancy signs, and i didnt get my period. i was beggining to get excited, and was told to do a test but nope.. no luck.. i didnt even ovulate. now i have to wait extra long to get a period again. i hate the waiting game. i know it was only my first cycle and some people try for years, its so hard when 3 of my close friends are pregnant, i just wish their luck rubbed off on me. i just gotta keep my head up, my tears in and keep trying... so to all the ladies out there, feeling down, just put a smile on your face, keep trying and remember we are all in this together and we will get through it some how. xxx

Hi Whitto....how are you going with the clomid?
I'm on CD6 and pill #5 today(CD2-CD6)
I have had dull headaches from CD 3, with a little dizziness and nausea. Hot flashes at night as well, nights are the worst for me....... But all bearable, I just hope this works well with my body and gets things happening!!
