nemo'smum, please let me know how you go, i am DESPERATE!
My almost threeyear old son is still in nappies and I am losing patience/hope/sanity regarding toilet training. I never bought a potty (maybe that was a huge mistake??), just one of those seats that sit on the loo.....he was sitting on it quite readily a few times a day, and only occasionally doing a wee (by chance I think, didn't seem to get the control thing), also did a poo a few times as we would see his "I'm doing a poo" face and whisk him onto the toilet to do it and give him heaps of praise etc.
When he was two and nine months his baby brother was born....and it came to a complete disagreeable standstill. I KNOW this is normal. People tell me to be patient and one day he will just get it and it will all happen very quickly........I know deep down this is right BUT I feel nothing will ever happen if he doesn't get practice!! Even tried bribing him with jelly beans but nothing works. saw the EC nurse and asked if i should buy a potty but she said no he's too big now, just let him watch Daddy and try to do it standing up.....no joy there either. Now he just screams NO NO NO if i even try to suggest it (every couple of days after backing off ).
I feel like a failure..al his pals are toilet trained and some even stay dry through the night HELP:eek:

Sorry came back online today and realised I totally highjacked your thread re the potty training doll nemo'smum sorry:thumbsdown: and turned it into my own personal whinge, oops!
Have been thinking of the doll concept though, and am thinking of using an ordinary baby doll to at least pretend it goes to the toilet, give it praise etc.......not nearly as good as a real weeing one! i seem to recall there were lots of dolls that did this when I was a kid...babyalive etc. Surely there must be some weeing dolls out there on the Aust market...???

I will hopefully check this lead out soon, but in the meantime if anyone can confirm that Zapf does have a weeing dolly out that would be great too:D

Baby Born wees and poos. It will only wee or poo if it sits on the plastic potty that comes with it. You have to feed it and give it a bottle.

ok I just checked out the Zapf creations US website here

www.zapfcreations.com

And they have a doll called Baby Born Functions doll which retails for $40 US, it comes with a bottle/food and a potty among other stuff

They do have other ethnicities (white/black) BUT they only have girl dolls so not much help for us mums with boys huh!

I will contact toys r us and see what they say!

I can't remember, I just press the button on the doll on the shelf and giggle madly about it. I know there's a flushing sound in there somewhere!
