Hi i thought i would share my story too.
I dont remember a lot of it though.
I was having braxton hicks for a couple of days before but 2 days after my due date the pains were getting stronger.
I was eating biscuits and leaning on the bench while rocking(multi talented lol)
My partner's mum said "i think this is the real thing"
All he could say was "is it hurting"
so by 10pm i couldnt take it anymore and rang my support partner so she could meet us up at the hospital.
Driving there, i could feel every bump in the road.
When we got there the midwife wanted to check to see how far i was and i felt very embarrassed so i asked everyone to leave and the mother inlaw said "we will see it all soon" my friend was quite upset with her and replyed " let her have her dignity while she cares"
So the midwife decided at 2cms i should go back home but i really wanted to stay so she gave me 2 paracedamols and 2 sleeping tablets and said get some rest you wont be ready till tommorrow.
10mins later the sleeping tablets kicked in, 5 mins later my water broke.
I dont remember much after that only asking for my undies to which the midwife replyed "you wont have much use for those now"
i kept walking around and she said that i was going to wear the floor out so maybe i would like a shot cause i couldnt stay still long enough to try the gas.
So i had the pethidine and slept between contractions then jumped up a little while later and said i have to push.
I was told to have a bath so i did which my partner said he wasnt getting in with me cause it was gross and he didnt want to get his WHITE shirt dirty! lots of abuse from me lol
then i got out and was sqatting on the floor saying "its coming NOW"
Everyone tried to get me on the bed but i wouldnt budge.
so between pushes i would ask for a drink but miss my mouth and pour it on my shoulder lol then i would sit down.
4 pushes and out came my daughter(with 3 dints in her head)
From when my water broke i had her 4hrs later(so much for a late next day birth)
she came into the world at 3.15am
