I watched a decent documentary of the benefits this can have for children with autism . . although my daughter hasnt been officially diagnosed I figure it can't hurt to head in the right direction anyways!

Has anyone done this diet ?? Results? Tips?

or she could see this post:p

as WCM said my son is on the gluten free diet and at first we tried it for one month and we thought we couldnt see a difference so we introduced it again and we could see instantly what happens when he is on gluten.

so he is and has been gluten free for a few months again. hes got a bug at the moment (his bowels play up) but he is so much better now then he used to.

it is a tad more expensive but if you get the carers payment from centrelink for your daughter i found that more then covers his groceries and other meds like a probiotic:)

eta whats the casein thing?

tips - look at the actual ingreadients and learn what they are (additives ect)

- just because it says wheat free it doesnt mean gluten free. (always look for the words gluten free.)

i also have cut the preservatives and additives and colours.

it also makes you eat healthier too.(im not gf but i eat less numbers)

Caesin is essentially dairy . . . we dont have much dairy anyways . . but as it means I am going to have to be doing the same diet (she is still breastfed) then its going to be an interesting journey!

Thank you for replying . . I think its definitely worth a try!

we just switched him off dairy now too.. to see if it helps his gut a bit more.

Alex was allergic to dairy and soy anyway so that wasn't an issue for us but he has also been off gluten for the past 9 months. We did trial him back on it a few times and he goes feral unfortunately. In some cases it can make a big difference so is worth a shot. There have been several threads on the topic on bubhub so try a search.

Good luck:goodvibes:
