View Full Version : TTC question???
When we were TTC#1 it happened straight away- like the first month we tried with no charting and me having very little understanding about ovulation or cycles etc. We assumed because it took my Mum and Dad 5yrs to have me that we would be the same.
So my question is this: since TTC happened straight away last time will it be the same this time?? Has anyone had an experience where they conceived straight away with #1 but # 2 took a long time?
We would like to start TTC in 07 but just curious as to know whether it will be as easy 2nd time around.
Sorry if this is a stupid question:o
I don't think it's a stupid question at all. It's hard to know exactly how long it will take. Considering you conceived first go last time i'd say it wouldn't take you very long at all. There was a thread i was reading today about how long it took it people to conceive....i'll try and find it. :detective:
It took us about 4 months of really trying with DD ( i was off the pill for 9 months in total) and this time it happened first go!

Me too exactly! My Ds was a honeymoon baby and I was expecting it to take ages for me to get pregnant as it took my parents 5yrs to have their first child.
We are going to start trying to concieve this month but I haven't done any charting or anything but I will be interested to see how long it takes this time around. I will let you know if it happens first time!!
Thanks Jennasmum and Bubbles for you posts!
Would love to hear how you go this time around bubbles- pm me and let me know! I cant believe your parents were the same and you concieved first go too!!! I can imagine how excited you must have been to find out you were pregnant, i guess i just had it in my brain that it would take ages!
Jennasmum- do you think that maybe first time around it was just the pill getting out of your system?? I am not and was not on the pill as its really stuffed around with my periods so i didnt have any contraceptive in my body to get rid of.
I actually thought I had gastro when i fell pregnant- completely wasnt expecting it straight away but both DH and I were ecstatic when we found out! Lets hope were as lucky next time - well minus the all day sickness!

Not really, the first few months we said we'll see what happens but we weren't that active in bedroom. Then i started reading up a bit and learning about ovulation etc so it was a more consious effort iykwim. I've heard of plenty of people getting pregnant after coming off the pill in the first couple of months.
I don't know how to insert a link to another thread but it's called "*curious* for all those who have been pregnant" it's had a couple of recent posts....it's quite interesting to see how long it took people to conceive first and second and 3rd/4th bubs.
Yeah i know thats like me, just expecting that it will happen again. So i think i need to have an open mind and expect nothing or i will be really disappointed if it doesnt happen first time...
Good Luck and i have my :fingerscrossed: for you!
