I'm worried my son has WC. I've had a booster and DS is vaxed but I know that doesn't mean we still can't get it, after all he got rotavirus after being vaxed so yeah I know it's possible.

I've had a cold for a couple of weeks where the cough lingered. DS has been getting it over the last week but now has a bad cough. It's not constant but when he does cough it does whoop and go on for a bit longer then his normal colds. I'll be going to the DR tomorrow but in the mean time what do I do?

I've got a steamer on him and he's sleeping okay, he just wakes to cough. Anything I should watch out for, besides the obvious lack of breathing. How do they diagnose WC?

TIA:)

My niece was diagnosed with WC via a swap about 5 years ago.

Just go see your doctor if you any concerns. If your son did get WC it is very likely to only a mild case seeing as though he vaxxed.

Goodluck.

Thanks ladies :) I just wasn't sure how they tested because I have a pathology cup and urine bag I was going to fill them before we went if that was needed but a swab is easier :)

SJR I hope your DD gets better :( poor mite. Aidan doesn't seem that bad but he's pretty miserable and the cough isn't nice at all. He's normally a total trooper when he has a cold but this time he's a grump! I don't blame him either!

Hi, my DD1(9yrs) and DD3(5yrs) has/had it. They were both fully vaccinated.

DD1 only had a single cough maybe every 30mins or so. We thought it was just her asthma playing up but since her chest sounded clear and as WC is going around our Dr did a swab. So, sometimes they don't even whoop at all. Probably because they are vaccinated. Although, the last 2 nights she has got up not able to breathe. Not sure if that's WC connected or asthma. (It goes away straight after ventolin.)

DD3 started with a similar cough but did end up having quite a few whoop episodes. Then DD2 (DD3's twin) :fingerscrossed:doesn't seem to have got it at all.
