Does anyone know how to make a good pasta sauce that's suitable for toddlers, and has hidden veges in it??

I'm after something that I can make in bulk and freeze in little portions and then defrost and chuck in with some fresh pasta. DD loves the Latina kids ones but they're expensive and I'd rather make my own.

I use big people pasta sauce( like the jars), add mince and veg and freeze.....Are big peoples pasta sauces not good for toddlers? I usually cook mine all up in the slow cooker all day and the veg kinda hides itself anyway :p All my kids eat it!

Can be canned can be fresh, doesn't matter much.

If canned, choose ones in tomato juice or puree not brine/salt water and if fresh put little crosses on the bottoms and sit in hot water for a few minutes to peel. :)

i got this out of 4 ingredients recipe book and my son loves it.

cooked macaronni placed in casserole dish
mix in a tin of tomato soup
bacon pieces (i just bought the packets which have 2 sections and used one section)
add cheese on top and put in oven for 20mins.

you could add veg too if you want to, grated zuccini is a good one as they can't taste or see it:thumbsup:. it is cheap easy and tasty. :)

A fairly quick and easy one that I use to make a fair bit (stil do sometimes) was :
diced/cubed into bite size pieces
zuchini, mushrooms, carrot, capsicum (any other veg I had in fridge but these were the "basics")
depending what I had I would add some fresh herbs & garlic or dried herbs.
chucked all into fry pan/big saucepan and cooked with a little vegi/chick/beef stock (salt reduced/home made) to stop it from sticking then once veg is soft add either tin tomatoes or fresh chopped tomatoes and heat right through and keep adding stock until its desired thickness.

it can be pureed if you like.
I would use this as a basic sauce for heaps of things.
spag bol, pasta bakes, lasagna, over chick pieces, over those stuffed pasta tube thingies (can think of name lol) .
was great to have small amounts in the freezer-cook some quick cook pasta or steam fresh veg bag , stir in tuna chuncks or cooked chicken pieces etc poor over sauce and a little grated cheese and DD would love it + tea only took <10min :)
